Back in the 1990s we used to get a small bottle of Tabasco sauce with every meal and it really helped to make the meals tastier. It looks like things have changed a lot. We had an oatmeal bar that when combined with the applesauce was really good. The only problem was that sometimes you had to beat the oatmeal bar with a hammer to break it up so it could be added to the applesauce. Really like this series of videos. I was in Combat Communications in the Air Force for 9 of my 20 years and we always had a box of MRE's with us just in case. Brings back good memories {except for the eggs and ham meal!!!! It was awful) Keep up the Great Videos!!!!

Ive never seen anyone put the foodpack in before they got the heater going... you knead the frh in the bag with water in it to get it going, folding it to the frh part of the bag and shaking also seems to work quite great since once it gets going the bagll puff up showing you its ready! My grandmother use to fry sliced apples in butter with cinnamon and eat it with fresh baked biscuits. Sugary sweet applesauce is not my thing. PB & J on a graham cracker is really tasty. I could see the steam coming from your chicken & noodles. It looked good.
This reminds me of my favorite MRE from the 90s in the Marine Corps -- Tuna w Noodles. But to tell you the truth these 2019 MREs seem like much much less food. Are there no sides anymore?
It didn't look to bad to me, as far as MREs are concerned. Then again, I was one of those weird people who actually *liked* the Chicken a la King menu in the original MRE.
Here me out here. I'm not a big fan of sweet stuff, so if you want the apple sauce, sacrifice about half a spoon of PB into the sauce, and it's actually a pretty good treat, especially when you're getting kinda tired of MREs all the damn time.
Probably not to be honest, but I did get a 24 Hour British ration and plan to do an overnight in the fall where I eat just the 24 hour ration. Thanks for watching!
Way different from what i purchased dated 11/23. I had M@M;s...out of date. Asides the few variations, i am disappointed that these are only Meals and not 24 hour packs. Do i really want Meatballs in BBQ sauce for breakfast????. I never served US Army so you guys know better. I did serve UK Army in the 80;s when the pack, roughly the same size was for 24 hours....The one with gold coloured tins and green foil packs. Meal definition has been lost i think with most Armed Forces Rations.

I just ate this MRE and it tastes pretty good with the peppersauce and some salt

Another trick you can do is throw the salt you get with the MRE in with the FRH. It gives it a kick and helps it heat the meal better.

Yup, see, I knew the apple sauce would be sweeter than grandma kisses. I'm telling you, try the PB in the sauce.
i wonder how the soldiers get hot water for the coffee in the field or do they drink it cold?
Are you going to do any of these from the field? Just like our soldiers do, only without threat of bodily harm?
