    Thank you all at MKG, nicely done! Hey Peter B there are several reasons why the rear leg is lifted during this drill but imo the first is to start the skill of the stationary lunge. Keep training

    What's the practical purpose for lifting the back leg on the crus?

      What Guro Tony said above but also because the stick is a hit to the foot or to kick sand up in the opponent's eyes so by leaning in on your front foot you can reach those targets easier. The other hand/weapon comes up really just to cover since your head is more exposed as you lean
