Absolutely need one more point in handy craft and get that white sharpness with the protective polish. 191-197 on the tornado (circle button) crit in training area. I was using the agitator for a while but have since traded for might, as I dps from the ground mostly and glaive doesn’t use stam. With this build that’s 70% affinity.. only way to make this build better and what I’m running
Yes, max might with lv5 handicraft and sharp jewel is the best way to build this glaive. The glaive ground moves are better DPS than the air attacks. You should only really be vaulting if ur fighting a flying wyvern and ur out of flash pods.
You can replace tyrannis glaive with deviljho now. Only need 2 handicraft with it to get white and you can use protective polish to keep it staying white.
Leslie Robinson actually right now CL sucks ass. Diablos and Grunge are way better. I think with white sharpness and max dragon attack the grunge has more DPS than the Tyrannis
I use earplugs and stun resist on my IG and I can't go back. The DPS I gain from not being roared at or stunned by is massive. It also keeps me from getting hit by elder dragons (talking to you piece of shit vaal hazak)
Same here, stun resist+earplugs are so good. I even use 3 Xeno to get that lvl 3 power prolonger (about 2 min buffs duration after patch)+lvl 3 blight resistance+lvl 1 flinch free (for multiplayer)+xeno divinity and now I can hunt in peace.
Wouldn’t a Flight jewel be a better option over the Expert jewel on the Dober Mail? Or does the flight jewel buff not work for the Insect Glaive? Awesome build by the way.
Saul Lopez so I tested the flight jewel with the insect glaive jump (R2+X) against a Diablos and I tried it multiple times and always got knocked back. So I don‘t think it works. One user once said it does, but I doubt it.
I personally believe that it protects you in the air UNTIL you attack. Once you attack, i believe the buff goes away and you’re able to be hit again; at least this is what i notice while playing sns. Plus, orange buff on IG is a form of hyper armor; so any other non knockback perk besides earplugs is wasted imo.

The modifier basically has to do with the speed of the weapon. Since you can shoot probably 3 arrows by the time one hammer hit hit, each attack point is worth 5.2 attack point on the horn vs. 1.2 attack points on the bow. This is done so that every weapon in the game is valuable. If this wasn't done, the dmg output of the bow for example would be so much higher than any other weapon, and everyone would play only the bow.
is it important to get rid of the negative affinity though? i dont think you can get a negative crit.... so -30% affinity has the same affect on gameplay as 0% affinity.... so instead of worrying about affinity wouldnt it be better to try and stack raw damage?
silver back not quite true. If you have negative affinity, you have a chance of dealing only 75% dmg. So for example you deal 100dmg with a regular non critical hit, you only hit for 75dmg if you have a negative affinity proc. If you have positive affinity and you crit, you could deal 125 dmg. So always try to get to at least 0 affinity so your dmg remains constant.
Was gonna build this since i have most of it already until i saw an additional attack jewel and a handicraft jewel. Gonna have to just pass on this one sadly

Lee Hernandez Insect Glaives main damage is one the floor what are you on? I main Insect Glaive the whole vault attacks and moves are for repositioning and mounting. Your main damage comes from heavy attacks.

Flight jewel is great I use it on every one of my IG builds

Odo is good but is lower than both the Diablos and Nergi glaive even with 100% crit. It just looks cool.

My Damage output is constant. My power shot/spread shot build does constant consistant damage hitting for 75+ spread shot and 150+ power shot.

I crit 205 Max mostly 195 with the circle attack. With this weapon. With 3 vitality. Just need a sharp jewl and most of my builds will be done.
Should probably go for protective polish with this glaive.
