On this episode of Sunday Morning Wood, we watch the team touch tips while building a scissor table 😂👍🏻 Great content fellas! Really appreciate giving me something fun to watch on Sunday mornings before the family wakes up.
I’m a 13 year old from pa who made 2 2x4 benches last week and it was so fun and one day I want to be like you! Keep making the vids and you got the hose
As a designer of the Southworth lift, I love it. Great work. I have a few ideas of a down draft table add-on. Tool holder add-on, power relocation to table top. Air hose location on the top and the vacuum clamps. Great start. great project. not a Sales person for Southworth, but knowing the catalog, did you see the vee top to hold round product? Did you see the tilter so you could lift and tilt large loads? We do design the LS product line for 6000lb everyday. As a previous manufacturing engineer who purchased the Southworth tables for a sheet metal shop. Modified everyone to hold large sheets and used them for welding tables after isolating the table top from the legs.
My wife and I went to the woodcraft in Springfield Oregon this weekend It's always cool . The guys who work there are always helpful and full of knowledge
As both a programmer and a DIY carpenter, the thing I would love and benefit from the most would be a demonstration of the CAD designing process and how to convert those designs into cut list; I've always found it insanely intriguing to know how much material is required for a project without making a single cut.
For just over a year I have been working for a guy doing home remodeling and stuff. We used to never use a Router until we picked up that Dewalt Router you showed now we use it all the time. All my tools are DeWalt.
Jordon killed it with the round/eliptical design prank, Nice Jordon! I think you need a "Team Jordon" shirt, Just saying. Seriously great build Thanks as always!
7:44 ~ No offense, John; I'm very happy with my _corded_ DeWALT router. DWP611, just gets the job done. No need to hunt for a 2nd battery. As good as DeWALT's battery packs are (Samsung 18650s inside of them, heck yeah!) for jobs that just take any length of time, corded quality router is just better.
All you had to do to align the holes on assembly was put a screw driver through the holes when it was lifted and guide it into place. Cool table build!
So glad you guys teamed up with Mike Farrington in this video! I love his channel and his detailed approach to everything he does.. he needs more subs!! Great content as always, keep up the good work!
Always fun watching you boys work. As much as I have enjoyed the journey of yours hope growing, I do miss your small-shop fun builds like the beginner/ intermediate/pro chair. Will these return?
I have seen several pro furniture makers have one or two tables like this in their shop for assembly. Your body will thank you every day you don't have to work in awkward positions and the table will also save you time.
I liked the oval holes Jordan. They would have worked fine. They also make the sides stronger from an engineering perspective. They do that on beams to reduce weight without taking a lot of strength out of the beam.
I absolutely love watching these. As a brand designer, I only speak pixel, but that’s why I like watching these. I never know what they’re saying but I just sit here like 👁️👄👁️
Hola! 🖐Malecki Mob, first time I hear that - it was a good one! 😂Cool build, I watched my first Farrington video last week. I'll be checking out more of his content. Looks like this table is going to be a workhorse in the shop, I'm sure it will extend the life of your backs. Be well, stay safe, and have a good one. Adios! 👊
Man... That table is badass.... SOOO much room for activities!! Im totally stealing that idea when I get my shop built! I do like the let's stop and look at the big tree delivery segment... Today on as the tree falls.... 😂
Awesome job guys. Hopefully you get great use out of it for many years to come my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. Stay squirrely. God bless.
I don't have a hydronic table, but converting an old dinner table/shop table into this would be good too. Just gotta beef up dem legs, don't skip leg day!!
I built the ghetto version of this about 3 or 4 years ago. 3.5' x 7.5' plywood torsion box with a sacrificial 4 x 8 melamine top sitting on a Harbor Freight motorcycle lift. I went with melamine because I do a lot of projects with fiberglass and melamine with a coat of wax makes a good surface for that. Plus, when it gets banged up, for less than $50, I've got a brand new top. I was originally going to extend the hydraulic foot pedals out but I never did. When I started using it I realized that I didn't raise and lower it very often so it wasn't a big deal to just get a foot under to pump the the cylinder up or hit the release. It's not nearly as nice as a real lift table but it's also less that $500 for everything (or at least it was when I built it).
Oh man John you could be on comedy central, you crack me up. “Jordan you look like you just crawled out of the dumpster “ was the best. Sweet project and giving Polk some kudos gets my respect for you. Be well and good luck with your new table.
*watching video...hits **13:40** minutes in. Pauses video, immediately goes to buy hat* lol Love the channel man, been a big fan since near the beginning. Keep the content comin 💪🏽
Duck principal. Design a thing with an obvious flaw so the when the boss comes in to correct things, he corrects the obviously wrong duck and leaves everything else alone :P
Jordan must like pushing your buttons when designs stuff, also on the Ron Paulk theme he did some videos on small router table, he made it hang off the end of his table french cleat style, also a couple of T slots routered into the top of the bench allows other clamping tools to be used
Your crossmembers should have had the bulk of the material routed out of them too..ala Paulk. Both for inserting longer objects (track saw rails, clamps, etc) and for retrieval of small parts that drop through the holes.
Not being a beginner today and owning like 6 routers myself if I had to do it all over again I'd like the second router I got to have been my first router. I got a Bosch POF 52 knock off. Look up what that is and get something like that. It's a great beginner tool. Or if you want to go hardcore right off the hop then get a 1/2" collet plunge router. Because that's where you're going to end up someday. That might be too much club for a beginner though.
I have two workbenches with lifts like this in my shop. They are so nice to have! I would recommend putting it up on like 3.5"x3.5"x36" blocks (think pallet stretchers) so you can move it with the pallet jack if necessary. Good work!
hi.verry usefull project. I actualy have a Q for Jordan : Did u print that dust hood for the CNC ? i am having isues with mine, and i would like to replace it, can u give some insight of the 3d model or a place where i can get a model? i have a diferent spindel with ATC, surely i will have to modify it to fit it. Thx , keep up the good work,be safe !
Love the lift tables, use them all day at work, the company probably has 20-30 of them, never thought of doing anything like that honestly! Looks good!
Jordan you rock nice work F-ing with John on the design. (6:05) 😂😂😂
Love Jordan John can never fire him. I love the cad joke.
Mike Farrington’s channel is seriously underrated. That guy is amazing.

Hahaha, I love when Jordan fucks with John, well played Jordan! :D
Hands down my favorite TH-cam channel. I would kill to just hang out in that shop and learn! Hope you’re still killin 75Hard! It changed my life!

Keep up the great work. You have the talent it seems.
Jordan is very talented !
Good thing he understands what you're talking about and reading your mind, John!!
Jordan is gold!🙌
OMG! When John jumped off the table and....the SFx of the floor collapsing....A-MAAAAYYYYY-ZZIIIING!

9:02 Top notch editing, as always. It caught me off guard, had to rewatch it several times because it was hilarious.
The Paulk design is absolute genius. Like your twist on it too.

Idea for Jordan... Do a course on Fusion 360 or whatever you're using to model and make cut lists and etc.
If this is a true homage to Mr. Farrington, then it needs to be MDF. Nice work.👍🏻
I find this new table so uplifting. Next time Jordan wants a raise, put him on the table. 😂
Ron would be proud. Dammit Jordan.
This was a really well timed video for me. I'm a few weeks away from trying to make an assembly table of my own.

Nice build, John. Excellent work Jordan (loved the fake plan for John). Where's Sam? Was he filming? Keep up the good work, boys.
You saying torsion box wrong every time was hilarious. Awesome idea for the table. Great job.

I did like the idea of having one long hole for a straight edge
Forgot how old is your Son now. Can't wait to see him working in the Shop as Your Foreman 😁.

Great content thanks for sharing

Very cool that Eddie Vedder stopped in the shop! (@9:09)
What was that program he used that gave the stock list?
