PoB does calculate the bleed multipliers for damage range and duration. It does not just assume max dmg bleed. It is just like 2 numbers up from where u are looking lol. That is what the "average bleed roll" number is. Yours is much bigger than theirs at 96% vs 87% it is used in the dmg calc you are just so high that differences are negligible. The one weakness is it does assume 100% attack uptime so if u want to sim for downtime you should apply an attack speed debuff to yourself and check it then. The bit about aggravate without ascendancy node is valid however as PoB does not calc that currently.
This is true, the problem is it doesnt just assume 100% attack uptime, it assumes 100% attack uptime for the full duration of your bleed, so if you have 2 APS and 7 sec bleed, it assumes you have always attacked your target 14 times and then takes the best 4 bleeds out of 14. Also it requires a lot more ramp then aggravated, POB actually has already a nice option where you can select how many attacks bleeds you have applied to a target and see dps then, if you pick something more normal and average like 5 bleeds for example you will see Crimson dance damage drop off way more than aggravated bleed always.

Spectral Throw Multiple Projectiles: Volley Support Lesser Multiple Projectiles Suppor and Greater Multiple Projectiles Support are effective on Spectral Throw, and enemies can be hit by more than one projectile in the same salvo. However, the 0.225s cooldown on hits is applied per attack, not per projectile, which means that it is not possible to "shotgun." Great in detail guide!! I think there is just one thing i think you miss. Another thing with aggravated bleeds, the new vulnerability has 10% chance on hit(with quality) to aggravate the bleeds, so if you have good enough attack speed and decent duration, you might not even require the 100% aggravation node, might even be able to get more aggravation elsewhere as well.
Bleed duration only matters if you stop attacking the mob with everything else being equal. Getting a higher bleed roll relies on the rate of attack. The more attacks/sec the more likely you'll get a higher bleed roll (think volatility + speed). On a fight where you're going in and out, bleed duration might worth it by giving up some attack speed. If you're just face tanking a mob then attack speed is the only thing that matters.
Do we really have to be swapping between EQ and Lacerate? I hate doing that. How bad is it to use Lacerate for mapping? Also, how do we generate Endurance charges on Pinnacle bosses?
If I understand correctly enduring cry will grant charges based on enemy power. 1 charge per 5 power. Unique monsters have 20 power so 4 charges generated boss encounters?
The affixes already chosen with the amount of resistances just slapped into the custom mods result in almost unobtainable gear. T1 spell suppression on all armour items and sometimes a second suffix already selected. To make the gear somewhat realistic, you'd have to cut like a third of the damage and for sure as hell I won't pay 100+ div for that.
Why would you put volatility in the shield charge setup? don't you want consistent damage (higher minimum) instead if you're just using it to charge through packs?
Question about "Crushed." With the node Bastion Breaker and the physical mastery give 100% chance to ignore Enemy Physical Damage. Are these different reductions? I thought Crushed was pointless if you already have 100% chance to ignore enemy physical reduction. (I see your build doesn't have that wheel so Crushed is good. But why value Crushed over the 100% chance to ignore physical damage reduction.) What am I missing? Thank you for making this video!
@@TaylorL4664 "Crushed" isn't restricted to only hits and bleed damage can benefit from it, therefore Crushed is prioritized over "Hits have x% chance to ignore Enemy Physical Damage Reduction".
@@NvRb4NeWnAr Crushed reduces physical damage reduction by 15% 100% chance to ignore physical damage reduction = reduce enemy physical damage reduction by 100% Which is 85% better. I understand that the node is great for the 40% physical damage because it scales the hit and the bleed. But i'm only talking about Crushed vs 100% chance to ignore all physical damage reduction. You can't go below 0% physical damage reduction. If you get both... crushed would not make a difference... I think. (I don't know if I'm right, I just don't know how I'm wrong. All due respect to the responses, but they don't address my issue.) The bleed depends on how big the hit is, crushed is good because it reduces the amount of armour and damage reduction the enemy has, making that initial hit bigger. And for that same reason, 100% chance to ignore enemy physical reduction is even better. For your statement to be true, the enemies physical damage reduction would need to apply AFTER the hit... I don't think it does. To reduce bleed damage you would need to reduce the initial hit. Thank you for your time.
Okay I think I got it sorted. The fact that the phys damage reduction is on hit only changes the hit value. That hit value does NOT change the damage of the bleed I guess? So hitting 2 enemies, one of which has 0 armor and the other has 10000000 armor. The bleed damage would be the same. But the hit damage would be far less for the armored enemy. Which the bleed does not care about. So in my mind bleed is like a spell. And the scaling of that bleed already bypasses armor. I thought the "Base" damage that the bleed was coming from came after the armor calculation. Sorry for the confusion.
This is very similar to the changes I made to Ziz's build, thank you, learned a lot! I'm curious, what do you think about Taking Petrified Blood + Flesh and stone (In Sand Stance) for even more Tankiness? Can also change that to Blood Stance or Herald of Purity for more damage. You need to take Champion of the cause and the mastery and with level 20 Vitality it puts you just above the LL threshold

I would say no (at a guess), it seems like he's interested in the end game aspect of this build. What might be an idea, is to use ziz's leveling guide then switch over to kripp end game.
Will this POB ever have step by step leveling with everything for the newbs in the back? I prefer your build more but I do not have enough hours to look at your POB and get from A to B, Ziz's is just more palatable. Appreciate the video learned a lot.
At a guess, I wouldn't say this is likely unless the channel becomes a lot more popular. He's not completely invested in the game anymore, still enjoys it, but is more than likely going to talk and theorycraft about end game, assuming you know enough general knowledge to get to the end game and put this into practice yourself. What I would do, if I was going to run this, and I didn't want to look up specifics for leveling, is use ziz's guide and then use kripps at end game to adapt it to your liking. (copied this from another person asking)
Definitely open to that choice, I would adapt it as you see fit and use what appeals to you. Edit: He did say since max res is possible on jewels now, this wasn't as important. Max res is always important tho, so I would work it in a way that fits your playstyle. Maybe you want different mods on jewels etc.
How do you maintain endurance charges on boss fights? Edit: removed the stun question I had as I saw the use of Unwavering Stance, my apologies. The endurance charge generation on Bosses question is still up for grabs :)
I think i didn't understand fully why the bleed duration is important. I read the wiki too. If bleed is a debuf that can only stack to 1 (so during that one first application duration) applying more refreshes the duration ONLY if the new one has higer damage? So then thanks to having more duration, the higer one lasts more? Or does applying a higher damage stack update the original... well while writing this comment i think i understood, since updating the value doesn't really make sense. Thanks for the video, i'll be playing this build just because the explodies. I like cold explodies, but never tried blood ones.
From what I know they all apply but only one does the dmg. Once the highest one expires it will instantly apply the second highest bleed for whatever duration it still has on it. The roll range for the bleed dmg and the hit itself you are doing is very high due to things like ryslatha belt etc. So to get an optimal bleed you might have to hit many times. While the big bleed is going you are basically attacking just for damage and to apply another big bleed that will continue going after the current one expires. Aggravate is applied at the same time as the bleed so you need to hit twice to have a chance to apply it. If you have a short bleed duration that will lower your dps on a potentially big bleed. Basically longer duration makes it so it’s a lot easier to apply a big bleed due to the big roll range. It makes it easier to keep a big bleed up consistently and will make the drop off period a LOT less likely therefore increasing your bleed dmg by a lot. It’s sort of a hidden more multiplier because instead of 7 spins at the slot machine you get 14 to get the biggest possible bleed on the mob/boss.
As a newer player, and not being able to play 12+ hours every day at launch, having T1 suppress on all my gear is not obtainable even after a week. That's why I like ziz's guides, he knows my struggles.
@Kripp, why did you choose 'Soul of the Brine King' since you are stun immune anyway? All in all solid PoB except the spell suppression on gear. That will be hard to get. But I am softcore anyways so I might not even need it anyway.

This is only my 3rd league. Can somebody explain or link to an article on what is up with more skills than sockets? I realize there are some support skills on gear but he doesn’t make any reference to them on the gear.

Thank you Kripp, the explanation of the mechanics is super. Your approch to this build is flawless. I wanted to play the Zizz version and you saved me ;) . Where I can find POB for your build ?
I'm looking forward to seeing someone roll this into a Farrul's Pounce + Farrul's Fur Lacerate and combine aggravated bleeds with crimson dance bleeds since they stack.
I'm not sure you fully understand how spectral throw works mechanically? You also misread how to use pob.inn and had the endgame tree selected while swapping through gear leveling trees. Spectral Throw (from the wiki) has a cooldown on how often a projectile from a single attack can hit. This allows only 1 projectile per attack every 0.225s to hit the target and therefore means it cannot 'shotgun' in the true sense (you will not hit all 3 projectiles from a single attack at the same time ever). You can get higher damage effectiveness if you position your attack to rotate on top of the boss temporarily to get an extra 1-2 hits in per throw (this can be done by having the boss be up against a wall or using something like slower projectiles to allow the projectile to be on top of the boss longer). As mentioned above, they did not have blood magic selected at level 38, that was the endgame tree you were looking at. Also Ruthless will not 'triple' your damage, you can literally look in POB you will be easily hitting 30+ cruelty on a boss with new damage for these skills. Also the reason why they don't take that 2 point jewel socket is because in the cluster tree you cut all of that pathing.
From the wiki "Volley Support, Lesser Multiple Projectiles Support and Greater Multiple Projectiles Support are effective on Spectral Throw, and enemies can be hit by more than one projectile in the same salvo." It doesn't matter that it's not a true shotgun, you can still hit an enemy with all the projectiles in the same attack. Kripp didn't misunderstand anything, he even said you have to have a good knowledge of the range of spectral throw and why volley is so good for it.
@@Sephiroso. No you can't. You can literally go test this in game on the act 6 boss and see for yourself socketing / unsocketing volley/lmp/gmp does not impact your damage at all on the boss outside of the multiple projectile gems taking away some DPS. Say you use Spectral Throw and it fires off 3 projectiles. All 3 of these projectiles are internally linked to be not allowed to hit on the same monster within a 0.225 second window. They CAN all hit different monsters at different times, but they CANNOT hit the same monster at the same time. Even if you have all 3 projectiles spinning on top of the same monster only one of them is going to be hitting the monster. Look up the definition of a salvo, it refers to a single attack of projectiles. The wording there is just saying you can hit an enemy multiple times while it's out in the air which I never said isn't possible. I'm saying even if you have 3 or 1 projectile per attack its going to do the same damage to the monster even if all 3 projectiles are spinning on it or only 1. You are leaving out the "however" part and pretending the quote ends after what you put lmao.
@@BrandingChangeYep So every content creator and their mother is recommending spectral throw + volley for leveling because of shotgunning, but you know better?
You were talking about the opportunity cost of points. If you just dropped the 12 attack speed for your first 5 points then you could spend those two extra points on the 2% max res. It's not a like for like comparison on the five you did vs the three they did. It's also what else could you spend those two points on.
last time i played bleed many years ago i had one of those jewels that gave 2x 80% phys damage and 2x 80% minion damage on great nodes. was nice for popping (yes i specced top left for minion damage = your damage)
in Ziz's video his showcase of lacerate it struggled to clear packs effectively even with bleed pops. like some mobs would be often be missed. Is there a reason for that and is it likely to be a problem?
I really want to try a retaliation build but I am unsure.. might be really bad. I'll probably league-start something like this and then make a new character or reroll (respec using gold, yey)
Well, you could run a build like this if you want to try the new melee rebalance. Then as you come across the new gems, you could low key try them out, see what at least feels good amongst the retaliation skills. Use gold to respec if you think something is possible or maybe even change to a different build if you're not enjoying this one.

Why would you put volatility in the shield charge setup? don't you want consistent damage (higher minimum) instead if you're just using it to charge through packs?
is this build specific for hardcore or it's good for softcore as well?
Imo, it looks solid for both. Softcore you might be able to get away with less spell suppression.
are you not playing ruthless anymore?
Bro how is this casual Krip? This is the best explanation of a build I’ve ever watched. I’ve learnt so much. Thank you so much sir.
Thanks for the detailed breakdown. Looks like bleed is back on the menu!
how will you sustain endurance charge on a pinnacle boss if you didnt take % chance to gain end charge on block?

Question about "Crushed." With the node Bastion Breaker and the physical mastery give 100% chance to ignore Enemy Physical Damage. Are these different reductions? I thought Crushed was pointless if you already have 100% chance to ignore enemy physical reduction. (I see your build doesn't have that wheel so Crushed is good. But why value Crushed over the 100% chance to ignore physical damage reduction.) What am I missing?
Thank you for making this video!
Those only apply to hits, not DoTs like bleed
....I know. That doesn't change the question.
@@TaylorL4664 "Crushed" isn't restricted to only hits and bleed damage can benefit from it, therefore Crushed is prioritized over "Hits have x% chance to ignore Enemy Physical Damage Reduction".
@@NvRb4NeWnAr Crushed reduces physical damage reduction by 15%
100% chance to ignore physical damage reduction = reduce enemy physical damage reduction by 100% Which is 85% better.
All due respect to the responses, but they don't address my issue.)
The bleed depends on how big the hit is, crushed is good because it reduces the amount of armour and damage reduction the enemy has, making that initial hit bigger.
Isn't Ziz pob using the other block cluster to generate endu charges?
This is very similar to the changes I made to Ziz's build, thank you, learned a lot! I'm curious, what do you think about Taking Petrified Blood + Flesh and stone (In Sand Stance) for even more Tankiness? Can also change that to Blood Stance or Herald of Purity for more damage. You need to take Champion of the cause and the mastery and with level 20 Vitality it puts you just above the LL threshold
the pob show only the last build what i do for lvling? when i swap? and why there is 3 of 6 links there when when drop earthshater? can someone hep with that ty

I love how an hour long video of in-depth poe build analysis constitutes as casual Kripp 😅
Right lol, I looked at the channel name and had to laugh.
I am confused by the PoB skills list. I count 10 castable skills but there are only 7 + move on the skill bar.
What about going shorter starting path and taking max resist with saved points? Great video and analysis
This was a very insightful video thank you for it.
Where are you getting your Resistances from?
He added all his res to the config tab than pretends that his gear is cheaper because he didn't include the reses lol.
@xyzqsrbo I think he's need alot of t1 Resistances
Yeah actually this gear cannot achieve 81 fire, 79 cold, 79 lightning, and 76 Chaos. There's not enough suffixes available @xyzqsrbo
From what GGG said, phys damage does not affect the corpse explosions as you are not the one causing the damage.
Why does the PoB have a "custom" modifier of +200 on every elemental resistance and on chaos res?
You going to update the PoB skill tree with different levels? gear upgrades? starter gear? etc
I would say no (at a guess), it seems like he's interested in the end game aspect of this build. What might be an idea, is to use ziz's leveling guide then switch over to kripp end game.
Really really cool and important info dude, thanks
bro is getting old nitpicking on every corner ;) thats min maxing at its finest. keep on rockin dude, happy slayin in 3.25 piece!
Is there a reason why there's no POE video for the new league on the main channel? Are the POE videos on this channel now?
Seems like Blizzard has bought that channel
It seems like it, I have just subbed. I was always interested in his poe mind/take lol. Edit: Not interested in the card w/e.
Hi Kripp, would you use Lacerate or Earthquake for clearing logbooks? Thanks!
I love when kripp gets in to poe
What about toss away atack speed nodes going ziz way to strength and for those 3 points take max resist?
Definitely open to that choice, I would adapt it as you see fit and use what appeals to you. Edit: He did say since max res is possible on jewels now, this wasn't as important. Max res is always important tho, so I would work it in a way that fits your playstyle. Maybe you want different mods on jewels etc.
I'm really hoping the new retaliate skills are good for bleed. With Gladiator you should be able to max block and activate them easily.
How do you maintain endurance charges on boss fights?
Edit: removed the stun question I had as I saw the use of Unwavering Stance, my apologies. The endurance charge generation on Bosses question is still up for grabs :)
He is using enduring cry to maintain charges on bosses + charge duration (22 seconds before he have to refresh)
Ty for the video Kripp! Can't wait to play.
thx krip
this helped alot i know this is krip clips
learnt alot with this knowing i main dual wield glad now gonna go shield after this
As a newer player, and not being able to play 12+ hours every day at launch, having T1 suppress on all my gear is not obtainable even after a week. That's why I like ziz's guides, he knows my struggles.
@Kripp, why did you choose 'Soul of the Brine King' since you are stun immune anyway? All in all solid PoB except the spell suppression on gear. That will be hard to get. But I am softcore anyways so I might not even need it anyway.
not playing ruthless this league? you probably mentioned it and I missed it. I was tempted to play trade with the new changes and all but I want to see how it all pans out in ruthless
Okay Kripp, I will never ever use a Zizaran POB not ever.
This is only my 3rd league. Can somebody explain or link to an article on what is up with more skills than sockets?
I realize there are some support skills on gear but he doesn’t make any reference to them on the gear.
Should I replace War of Attrition with Jagged Technique?
Would you be able to do a more in depth pob act leveling ect?

How do you get so meny red sockets on Evasion gear?

You were talking about the opportunity cost of points. If you just dropped the 12 attack speed for your first 5 points then you could spend those two extra points on the 2% max res. I'll probably league-start something like this and then make a new character or reroll (respec using gold, yey)
Well, you could run a build like this if you want to try the new melee rebalance. Then as you come across the new gems, you could low key try them out, see what at least feels good amongst the retaliation skills.
