Just watched this for the first time. I had to say goodbye to my Toller in March when she was 15. This video reminded me of all that was amazing about her - and Tollers. Thank you!

I have Remmington, who is a 1/2 Retriever & 1/2 Australian shepherd, 1yr. old Liver /Red Merle. He was a "thrown away" "designer bred" puppy dog until we found each other. I adopted him several months ago and named him REMMINGTON... smile. I LOVE him dearly. He's GORGEOUS!! He tries hard to be a good boy. (Please see his many silly videos... I made this channel for him and our other animals.)

Its been a challenge trying to find a breed that can keep up with my Border collie and still enjoy trick training. I wanted a breed i haven't had before, so Australian Shepherd was out :) Think a Toller would get along well with a BC? my BC is very particular about dogs he will play with. Most of them aren't a challenging enough for him and he gets bored easily.

I ride horses alot and would like a dog who can come with me to the stable and also run along on hikes. So what do you think? would a toller be a good fit or maybe some other breed :)?
In my opinion you have very good idea to get toller. My friend's toller (Kama,the hero of the film) living in a flat, but everyday she give her a lot of montion. You have house with big field, so your future dog definitely will like it. Old dogs only dreaming about lying on the sofa and eating, I know it very well, haha. Nova Scotia dogs are very friendly, inteligent, fightful and... crazy, just perfect. Tollers are amazing companions, so on a "horse trips" she/he will be happy to accompany you. The toller is the best working dog you'll find. However they are rare and need a owner worthy of their potential. They need to be kept with the their family while growing up. A toller wants to interact with its family first and foremost. A toller that isn't 100% committed to its family will have behavior issues when it gets older. A toller needs to believe that any time spent alone is temporary. Once this is achieved the toller can be left alone in the house with no issues.

grégory jacquemin Tollers are very sensitive and faithful dogs. Character depends on kennel which you take puppy. Parents, gens- you know :) Nova Scotia is willing breed to work with human. They learns so quickly new tricks and are very obedient. You should be creative person to learn tricks but some tips are on TH-cam, people show how you can learn such trick. I think that most importable is clicker and snacks.
I train my guinea pigs and rats everyday, which is a bit odd. But I really want a dog and hope to train one. Dogs r probably able to do more tricks because of their size and the fact that u can take vthem out with u and to training classes, unlike other animals. Thanks for replying, Nicola.

Everyday about 2 hours, walking with training some tricks in dispersion :)
