It is slightly out of character but he was terrified. He finally got Lorelai and then this happens. Telling the truth might have helped but his reaction is entirely possible
@@nadimabbas4093 Why don't people get this? They say he should have gone home from the fair and told her I am like? He is in shock, he doesn't even know if he will see April again or what kind of realtionship this will form, plus Lorelai was fighting with Rory, to me it was in character, he clamed up which is understable.
@Maria Zyka Yamog but he only saw her three times before that. After he found out he didnt have contact with her for months himself and when he reailised he was going to be seeing him more he arrnaged to tell her but wanted to do it in person, I just personally dont see him telling Lorelai he has a child but he will never see her will help the situation.
Luke came to the science fair to see the results of the DNA test. He was probably hoping the match would be negative and that he's not April's father, but instead he was mortified when he saw it's a perfect match and that he really is her father. Not only was he not ready to father a child, he doesn't even know how to tell Lorelai he's a dad
Right after this Luke should have told Lorelai or at least in the next couple days, maybe week. Cannot believe he took so long to tell her; it made no sense cause he normally is extremely honest with her. Not to mention she has experience being a mother to a daughter and could help him a lot. How did he expect to just jump into it without much help or warning.
Seriously! The way that things play out in this episode, I can understand why did he didn't say anything right away. A week would have been entirely understandable. Two months though, was crazy.
@@dayschange2 yeah of course. process your shock, and think through it alone a bit first. even go see anna and figure out what the f*** happened, why she didn't tell him, if there is going to be a chance to have april in his life. but then, for the love of god, you are a good honest guy so... tell your fiance!
Why is this storyline like straight out of a soap opera. Crazy and out of nowhere someone has a kid they didn't know about, and they give her to the most unexpected person.
I read in an interview w/ ASP that the executives asked ASP to include a younger character b/c as Rory was getting older, the executives were afraid of losing the younger audience. The interview happened sometime around the revival. Can’t find it now though! V_V
I wouldn't doubt it. Of course Rory was getting older. That was the point of the show in the 1st place. To chronicle the growth, maturity and development between Mother, Daughter, and their relationship.
Seriously though, she did a whole ass DNA test and successfully identified her father and didn't even win a silly little science fair in a small American town? That might be one of the most unrealistic things to ever happen in this show lol
Given the way that news travels in the GG universe, I find it a bit hard to believe that Lorelai wouldn't have somehow found out about April in the two months between the fair and meeting her at Luke's. Woodbridge isn't that far from Stars Hollow (being within biking distance for a 12-year-old), and Luke is a relatively public figure, owning the diner and all. And with April having won second prize and giving a presentation about her project, it seems to me like there would have been some sort of a trail that led back to Stars Hollow, probably through Ms. Patty, or Babette (or East Side Tilly, haha). Of course, the whole story is ridiculous, but that's a detail I've often thought about.
He should have taken Lorelai to this big reveal. It would have been better. Instead of “hey guess what i have a daughter i didn’t tell u about” it would have been “hey this weird kid thinks I’m her dad. What gives right?” I’m so mad at the writers. 😡😡
I'm curious about the other two guys pictured on April's dispaly. At least one of them looks annoyed, as if April had abruptly yanked hair off of his head too. Were they serious contenders for being her father? Did Anna cheat on Luke, or have a few rapid fire rebounds after they broke up? Anna never tries to use the "I didn't know if she was yours" excuse when dealing with Luke, which suggests not. But then. . .were these just two random guys that April approached at random on the street?
WTF to the writers of this season. I was and continue to be Beyond Pissed that they did this to him. And NO offense but April is Majorly Annoying!! 🤯😱😩😫🤢😤🤬
i'm sorry but this whole situation was so unnecessary. even their father-daughter relationship wasn't genuine AT ALL. it seemed like luke had her around bc he felt like he was obligated to do it. this storyline wasn't "aww luke has a kid" or "omg so cute". this wasn't the serve they thought it was. both in the og show and revival it seemed like luke loved rory more than april which is sad but kinda not surprising. they literally had one job they had one of the most iconic shows in their hands and they blew it.
Guys....Anna's reasoning for not telling Luke isn't 'he didn't like children'.....no she didn't KNOW who the father was! Which gotta admit is a sensible reason but yeah she is rewriting history. I'm convinced she is awful and Sherri was going through postpartum depression.
That she was pregnant with his child when she found out. Obviously Luke would have been shocked and he may not even taken that well but he would have had time to adjust and to being the dad he wanted to be from the beginning. Anna robbed him of that and decided that was her choice to make
I have always, always, ALWAYS, thought Luke not telling Lorelai was EXTREMELY out of character.
It is slightly out of character but he was terrified. He finally got Lorelai and then this happens. Telling the truth might have helped but his reaction is entirely possible
Luke wasn't acting out of character. He is going to tell Lorelai, but he doesn't know how. Shocking news takes time to process and tell

Not really
Their comunication always sucked, even in the Revival

Her pictures of the confused, nervous fathers are funny.
the way Luke's entire life changed at :40. Poor guy is so shocked.

that picture of luke in the science fair exhibit lmaoo 🤣
I wish I could just Yeet April into outer space. They literally appeared out of no where it’s so stupid

I find it funny that they thought the audience was frozen in time or something. Forever stuck in high school.

no he shouldn't.
I think that would have made for a more interesting scene than when she later met April in the canon actually.

•Unbelievably well-read and mature for her age

April's a Gilmore Girl that doesn't come from a Gilmore
You should of said something, where is Anna??
Esto fue lo más sorpresivo para "Luke", pero su peor error,es no confiar en "lorelai",con algo tan serio; sin duda, ella lo hubiera apoyado.
