Honestly, it never made sense to me that he liked it so much in the first place. It seemed like exactly the kind of over-the-top, stuffy, fancy-shmancy crap he usually hated. I mean, yeah, he had a history of finding it hard to let go of things, but they were always things that had to do with his dad and relatives he was close to. Not this weird grandma who he'd never mentioned once before.
If they had moved into one of the two larger houses that were floated around over the course of their engagement, they could have put that furniture into a guest room. You know, since both the Twickham house and the place that Emily and Richard wanted to buy for them had five bedrooms. :(
Why move into a new place when Lorelai place was perfectly fine for them. They didn't a new place. Lorelai worked her ass off to get her place she wouldn't just give it up like that. So sorry I don't agree with you.
