F91W got me into the whole watch game. The first time I’m ever interested and invested into watches was when I first got scripted into the army. Over here in Singapore, F91W was the standard issue. During BMT all of its features were used almost on a daily basis. Started my watch journey after serving my 2 years and expanded my collection to more automatic pieces beginning with Seiko eventually to my first DateJust when I was promoted to management. I’m 27 now and I recently bought another F91W just to so I could have it in my collection serving as a reminder why we even wear watches at all in this modern day & age where everyone just check their phones for timing.
I absolutely love my F-91W...I have worn it for years and it has always been there for me...but I am getting older and it is starting to be a pain to check my watch in the middle of the night! The current one that I have is starting to get pretty scratched up and the battery is slowing wearing down so...I FINALLY ordered a F105W. I feel like I am cheating but I just can't do the straining and adjusting to see the time...and even then, sometimes it is just a guess as to what I think it said the time was. I hope my F-91W understands.
I've just got the W59 and I really like it. Usally I'm more into Automatic watches, but when it comes to digital watches Casio is the only way for me. Maybe I will buy another one, because they are not that expensive and there are many great models. It's funny how these "cheaper" models are always compared to f91w.

my place its like 2usd diff lol (indonesia) and it goes max at like 20usd (30aud) for the 105( rare tho as people mostly recognize 91 immediately than all its other brethren including older F8x )
I think the light on the Casio F 91W has improved recently, but I haven't seen anyone talking about it, so I don't know if it's really improved or if it's just me. In mid-2013 I had an F 91W that I ended up losing shortly after, but I remember the light only illuminated up to the first digit of the minute in completely dark rooms, you couldn't see more than that. Recently, I got another F 91W from my girlfriend, this time a gold series, it's beautiful, I had never seen one in person until then, only on the internet, and to my surprise, in my room, with everything dark at night, its light is on. illuminating the other end of the LCD, it is still a weak light compared to models that have "illuminator" technology, but I was surprised to be able to see the seconds count. Detail that I'm sure is original Casio. Has anyone else who bought or received an original F 91W recently noticed this?
@@xxsilver_gamingxx389 they're both the same size side by side. The only difference is the 105 is slightly thicker. But it's hardly noticeable due to the size of the watch.
The F105W screen-text just looks way too busy for me. I don't like all of the 'illuminator' text that Casio seems obsessed with writing all over their watches. Seriously, less IS more, guys!
Is the 105 backlight enough to reflect light on your face in pitch darkness? I do stealth drills occasionally and can't afford to light up, which one should I get?
I have 4 favorite caso watch that I wear in my daily or rotations depending on what I am doing.. at home I use any of them.. outside during day time I use the no backlight but iconjc f91w (so comfy 4got I wear a watch) & my 3 vintage casio marlins.. outside during night I wear all that has good backlight G-shock GW-5000u, a168, a700 (& the soon to arrive that I just ordered. the casio f105)..😊❤
I have the f-91w in original colour and the light grey love them both had 1 in the 90's,i really like the look of the f105w and will be getting it but am waiting on a new LF20W so it will have to wait a bit.
4:22 You must be in a very dark place, because the terrible backlight of the F91W was able to brighten up the whole display (but only the left side is brighter) as in most cases it could only brighten up the a small area of the left side. Nevertheless, the text are still hard to read in the F91W because of how blurry they are while the F105W's text are solid enough to read with the proper backlight/Illuminator on.
Based on your other video. I just got a rangeman 9400 and after putting it in water the buttons squished. They dried fairly quick but I wanna know, has this happened to you and will it affect my watch in any way
we have same purpose of having both of this watch.. I bought the f91w mainly for collection & use it just to brag that I have one but only use it on daytime because of its useless garbage backlight.. I am using my a168, f105 & gw5000u as my daily watch..
I went to Walmart to grab an F91W ($17 USD), but instead I ended up getting the F105W ($22 USD) for the better illumination. It's funny... I have fancier and more expensive watches, but for some reason, the cheap and cheerful F105W is the one that brings me joy more often. Is it the hourly chime? Is it the simplicity? Is it the nostalgia factor? Probably all of the above.
just ordered a w-86 but the f-91 is probably the best watch of all time. i have two. and why do americans struggle so much with 24 hours time? and the difference between wasps and bees?

that's awesome!
Did you ever get it wet?

I think you missed one thing. I have both of them. Buttons are much nicer to push on the F105. Great channel and review!
Got them both and it's perfect. During day it's F91W time, during evening/night I switch to F105W.
awesome!
Perfect
In Australia the F91w costs $12 usd vs. the F105W @ $36 usd.
That's a lot for a night light.
Not here
In Belarus original f-91 cost about 25$ and f-105 is about 30$. In this case f-105 with illuminator light much better.
In Korea, f91w is 12$(15000₩) and f105w is 15$(19000₩)

I've had both and the F105 is a better watch overall. Also the backplate gasket is thicker on the F105 and the pushers are a little easier to operate.

Casio does like a busy screen for sure
From that logic the F-91W is also busy my friend, they don't look so different.
@@Kevin.A.S The F105W graphic and colour scheme is far more dominant than that of the F-91W.

Great price!
I had an F91-W, gave it away to my mother. Just bought and am waiting on the F105-W!
nice it's a killer watch!
Been watching this and never noticed the huge pepper shaker, in the back!
The F105 is like Indiglo.
I wouldn't call a terrible backlight "part of the charm" but I guess I'm new to this Caring About Watches thing

Advance Durability test?
If it's the same module, would I be able to swap them so the F91W can have that illuminator instead of the backlight?
The 105 is a bit bigger, so it might have a little issue but I don’t think it matters
