can you please make a video on hygral fatigue the what to do/what not to when trying to recover .. i’m a bit of an extremist and have been on both ends (litterally ENDS) of each spectrum, i had protein over load so bad 2 years ago! i was so afraid of the p i avoided it in all of my products for nearly a year before i started to see the negative effects from lacking protein.. part of the problem is iv been growing out my extremely damaged bleached to no return, for about 7 years now so i ultimately was treating my whole hairs for what my ends needed not thinking of the damage i was causing to the not so damaged part of the hairs 🥴 also on top of that i now have well water and i did a ph test and it’s hard as 🤬 but because of your vid promoting the undo goo shampoo i found they’re hard water wellness line and that i feel like made a huge difference but there’s so many different factors 😭 i know it’s prob painful reading this i apologize i’m just desperate i chopped off my hair the other night out of frustration i honestly feel free it’s so weird but i just don’t wanna find out yet again that i could possibly make my hair any worse than iv experienced through out my whole life (a lot of damage) because i’m pretty frikken amazing at surprising myself with that 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Your curls are gorgeous. I wish I could have the same... It took me awhile to get used to your videos, I prefer straight forward videos, but this video is so good, I have to admit you are one of the best to educate us about hair care. Happy 2022! I wonder where you live... I wish you were near. Aloha 😘

I'm so happy I found your channel! I gave up on the strict curly girl method, due to build up problems, weighing down my curls etc. I'm trying to recover my curl pattern with the help of your advice on styling and caring. Although I have to watch your videos at least twice, because you crack me up so much that I miss important information the first time I watch it 🤣😁 Thanks for all the great efforts you put in to share your experiences with us!

I'm curious- how did the curly girl method cause buildup? I thought Silicones is what causes buildup and not using them anymore(through the curly girl method) would free your hair from some buildup? (I'm not talking buildup from hard water) although, you would also think that the curly girl method would help with that buildup as well, through clairifying/using a chelating shampoo, so my question is how did the curly girl method buildup for you?? 🤔

This is interesting, but I’m interested in a bit more detail on what exactly I need to deep condition... like, what ingredients. What ingredients do I need to deep condition? How does it work deep?
Can I “fortify” a normal conditioner? For example by adding shea butter/oils to a normal conditioner to turn it into a deep conditioner? It would be nice to add something that I already have in the house to avoid having to spend on another deep conditioner to keep it affordable...

Yeah adding oils and butters would make it deeply conditioning:) washing it off might be difficult:(

You should do a video on leave-in conditioner. What it is? When to use it? When to leave out? I always struggle with if or if I shouldn't use it after deep conditioning. I always have though cause I'm scared of what the results would be otherwise lol.

Can you talk some about what all products there are for the scalp and how we can tell if we need to use them?

  • @Teaaas
    @Teaaas 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey, Mell, not sure if you’re going to read this, but I’m in a dilemma. For months now, my hair has been dry, brittle, breaking, dull, frizzy and all of the characteristics that would be used to use for damaged hair. The thing is- my hair is completely virgin. This whole time, I’ve been experimenting with so many products and techniques: the CG method, clarifying, oil rinses, alkalines, acids, bentonite clay, baking soda, experimenting with protein/moisture balance and a whole lot more. You could probably name a lot of other things and I can honestly say that I’ve tried them all. None of them have helped with my hair, unfortunately. I just didn’t understand. It wasn’t until recently that I discovered that this damage was caused from the water that I use. I don’t know how hard my water is, but it sure is hard enough to fuck up my hair to the point where it’s practically lifeless. I’ve noticed a while ago that parts of my hair turned a little brassy/brown-ish and I thought that was probably caused by protein overload. Thinking about it even more, it would not make sense for protein to cause my hair to have discoloration. It’s been the water this whole time! These past few months, I’ve been reduced to wearing a durag whenever I go out into public. It’s that bad. At least now I know the real cause to the problems with my hair, it’s just that now I don’t really understand now what I should do with this information. If you could please help me with what I can to recover my hair back, I would really appreciate it! Thanks. 🙏🏽

    Accolades!!! 🤗
First off...you are the friggin bomb diggity and I'm sooooooo thankful that I found your incredible knowledge with your bada$$ entertaining personality! It makes all this learning fun! 😘
Second, huuuge respect and thanks to Amanda for hitting you two out of the park every week with all that she does behind the scenes! 😘
Third, I'm only 11 weeks into my curl journey...which started with me chasing the cuuuutest curls out of a drug store (um, yah, I totally did that, hehe) and heard the word DevaCut for the first time. 😉
Anyhoo...I'm trying to catch up on your vids...which has me bouncing all over your life, and hair lengths, so I need to tell you that your hair looks amazing in this vid!! Loving the length! You're a true testiment to what you teach! 😘
Fourth, keep it up and THAAAAAANK YOOOOUUUUU two cuz I'm still trying to figure out my curl type, perosity, moisture/protein balance, products & use, and you just blew my mind with the fact that I can cause my hairs to swell. 🤯
This new curl life is confusing as h*ll but I'ma keep working! I'm going to switch from DevaCurl (well most) prods and just purchased Olaplex 4 & 5 and your 4 step styling prods (Aveda's Daily Remedy, DevaCurl's Frizz Free Volumizing Foam, Aveda's Be Curly Curl Enhancer & Aveda's Confixer gel). I also just got The Innate Life Scalp Treatment, Herbal Hair Mask and Rose Elixer plus the looped dry scalp massager brush and the wet scalp massager your seester turned you onto. Now me & my hairs just have to learn to understand each other & hopefully these help as my hair "sounds" like yours when you speak texture-wise (fine) and damage first every low light color app 11 weeks ago (grey's suck right before your wedding) on top of decades of not knowing about the importance of that squishy sound a.k.a. decades of dehydrated hairs 😥 plus I'm embracing diffusing for the first time. Totally crossing my fingers that my hairs get happy and healthy!🤞🤞 Heck maybe some day I'll actually be able to rock that big hair shirt! 😉
You have been a blessing!!l! I'm totally TH-cam stalking you for all your priceless info as well as cute as a button personality, LOL! 💜
Thank you again Mell and Amanda! Your team makes me giggle with every vid.
    🤗😘🤗😘🤗😘🤗😘🤗😘🤗😘🤗
