No he´s he sat there for 3 minutes and painted Kyrie like an innocent victim of public opinion which is just false. There´s more then 8 million people living in NYC and all of them are under the same mandates as Kyrie. Firstly not a single person has attacked Kyrie Irving the man. Stephen A has gone out of his way to mention every single day what he´s done off the floor and how intelligent he is.
Kyrie went on for a few minutes in that IG video talking about how his vaccine stance is a personal choice and what he does with his body has nothing to do with his teammates or organization... Its a pro sport, they pay you for what you can do with your body... Your teammates depend on the things you can do with your body to help them achieve their ultimate goal. He also said he was being grouped in... He took this stance, got mad at the media for covering it, went then went dark and decided he didn´t have to explain anything to anyone. He didn´t need to offer insight. That was his choice.

Stephen a is more concerned with the basketball aspect - which immediately disqualifies his argument. This ain’t just about basketball anymore, it’s bigger than that. And also, these mandates weren’t there when all of this for the nets was coming together. If I said im taking my boat out with my guys an go from Florida to the Bahamas, and the day I decide to leave there’s an unforeseen storm that’s raging the seas, I’m not about to sail my boat just because I organized the trip. Things happen, and each person makes decisions differently. Just because it’s not meeting your requirement for what should be or how something should be done, doesn’t make it wrong. If you would handle it differently that is on you, but to subliminally chastise someone that moves differently than you and try to mask it with small shots of compliments and what have you - that’s just wrong. Stephen A is acting like the responsibility to win a championship for an organization is more important than an individuals perspective. It’s bigger than that.

The whole player empowerment movement in the last decade has been based in the idea that teams do not own them. I remember Lebron's barber shop show bringing up Prince's comments about being a slave. Yes, they are paid a lot of money, but they cannot and should not be purchased for any price.
That's just a slap in the face to millions of people who were actual slaves. It's like taking a third shift job then wanting praise because you gave up sleeping at night, and a lot less like forced work for no pay and brutal conditions and treatment.
