I am SHOOK at how much more I am into Jesiba, and the Viper- how much I've fallen off for Hypaxia, the amount my heart was breaking for Day/Hynd. Baxian and Cormac are brilliant additions.
I just finished the book today and I am just sitting here feeling like my brain can’t even process anything. I am freaking out about the crossover! But also I agree- Bryce doesn’t know ANYTHING about Danika! Were they even friends??!
Haha I legit screamed when I got to the last chapter - I still haven’t fully recovered!! 😅
I just finished and honestly enjoyed it a lot more than HOEAB! I flew through it!! Can't wait to see what she does with the crossover 😍 I also really want to know more about the world of Midgard--hopefully Book 3 will provide a full map of Midgard 🤞
Great video! Yes to the crossover video, please! And I feel pretty the same about liking the first book more…I had difficulty getting into this book and was constantly dreading…as I said in our messaging, this felt like a huge build up with not much actually happening (I men things did happen but not as in the first book), I am happy for the crossover and can’t wait for the next book
Regarding your question about who sent those demons to test Bryce, Regilus sent the reapers and I think he set the demons too

So much everything all over the place.
I was already mid TOG, after ACOTAR to try to keep my sanity for HoSaB. Now I have got to go back and re-read EVERYTHING!

I haven't read TOG. Now I have to go and read everything in order to have more theories... SJM is brilliant (apart from some repetitive parts in her books)
Totally agree with everything you said in your review! I felt very disconnected for at least 75% of the book and Bryce fell flat as a character for me here.
But I think we can all agree we were screaming in those last few pages. 😝
Haha, honestly the longer its been since I’ve read HOSAB the more I feel like I didn’t really enjoy most of the book - BUT THE LAST CHAPTER WAS SO GOOD!!!!!

I absolutely adore this video, agree on everything! I also felt hunt/Bryce being lil off, and was shocked when I read the last sentence in the book ahhhhh the fact that we are getting crossovers BLEW MY MIND so excited for next book

The star theory would make sense, the prime does continue to call Bryce a wold even though we know for sure her bloodline has no wolf in it…
I just finished! I was waiting to watch this. I looooved this book! It might be my favorite Maas book so far!
Haha I wish I enjoyed it more - the beginning was really slow for me but the ending kinda made up for that 🥰
I think Rigelus sent the reapers but the demon-thingies (I don't remember what they were called, sorry!) were sent by the prince of the pit to test Bryce. I enjoyed this one more than the first, but also in some respects I didn't. I only finished it an hour or so ago, but I think my opinions of people changed a lot and that affected my enjoyment of the book.
I didn't like Bryce as much in this one. She was just - there, and things were happening to her and she was reacting a lot. Her powers are a little confusing. I didn't like how little she knew about Danika, it just feels like at this point if SJM needs a plot twist explained, it's quickly explained away as another of Danika's secrets. That's fine and all, but doesn't exactly help us connect to Bryce when she knew almost nothing about her best friend/sister. Danika had a mate for 2 freaking years and she didn't even suspect a secret boyfriend let alone anything more.
The thunderbird stuff was... weird. I think it might play out in the next one, but I'm not entirely convinced the younger brother has no powers. Because who destroyed those ships in the prologue? Did they ever explain that? Maybe they did and I forgot.
I liked Hunt a lot more in this one. I didn't like Bryce hiding things from him - mainly because it seemed needless. I don't mind the mate thing, at this point I expect it - everyone gets a mate (except poor Az who has to wait years and years before he even gets a book. I'm not bitter or anything...)
I freaking love Ruhn - definitely my favourite character. He's been the most consistent for me. Loved him in the first one and love him even more in this. The Day/Night thing was done so well. I initially thought it might be either her or Celestina but that changed pretty fast.
The crossover stuff was slightly spoiled for me, I saw the last line from Rhys captioned on Tumblr so I expected her to fall into that world and not hell. But as soon as I read 'beautiful' and 'hazel eyes' I knew it was Azriel who'd found her and even the spoilers couldn't ruin that interaction.

I completely agree w/ what you said about Danika - this book made me feel like Bryce really didn’t know her friend at all and they were portrayed as being like sisters in the first book - it just felt off.
I’m really hoping the Thunderbirds play a big part in the third book - so much time was invested in that plot line and it felt like there was no payoff. (I think the brother says (when Bryce meets him at the Viper Queens residence) that it was actually Sophie who sunk the ships in the prologue 🤷🏻♀️ but I have a feeling the brother either has powers that he’s hiding or Bryce’s stepdad is going to train him on how to use guns like a pro (like he did with Bryce)
And Az better have the most epic love story in the next ACOTAR book (whenever we get it 😖) - he’s my favorite bat boy and I just want him to be happy!!! ♥️
@@HonestFiction I feel like I need to reread the prologue, because wasn’t Sophie herself surprised by whoever took out those boats? I could be remembering it wrong.
I’m ok to wait and see how the Thunderbird plot works out, but the Danika stuff doesn’t sit well with me. Especially cos I feel like there’s more secrets still to come. At this point, the Danika Bryce knew is almost a different person.
Yess, we just want Az to be happy!❤️ I hate all the ship wars, as long as he’s happy, I’m good with whoever he ends up with. I saw a clip where SJM said she’s working on CC3 next and while I understand it story wise, the fact that I’ll have to wait even longer for Az’s book… I just can’t. Only consolation is he’ll be in CC3, even if it might not be for long.

Great video! Needed to finish the book before i watched it (LOL!). Even though I’m not quite sure how it would work, I am 100% convinced that Hunt’s father is Thurr and that Hunt is therefore part god. It would make sense that he smalls differently and would also explain his power.

This was such a great review!!! It’s crazy I feel the opposite as you, HOEAB was a chore to get through for me but this one I could not put down! I need to finish TOG this year so I feel fully connected to this universe. I think sjm is just going to Nick Fury us at this point and I’m interested to see if ACOTAR and CC will stay separate or merge

@@HonestFiction I read ACOTAR and TOG for the first time ever last year. I fell in love. I am trying my hardest not to re read them yet 😂 but the urge is real!! I miss them! I decided to dive into Six of Crows. But before I do that I need a book to clear my mind after HOSAB so I'm reading Desperate measures lol 😂 Also loved the Blood and Ash series and cannot wait for the next one!!

I agree with the mates comment in the sense of how they have that weird convo of what to call their relationship and decided to be mates, I didn’t think that made sense. However if they would have talked about it and said no, then had their crazy magic sex bond it would have made more sense. Especially since we find out the other world exists and that mate system exists jn prythian.

Ahhh that’s definitely a possibility!! I really hope not - I don’t want hunt and Ruhn being held by the Asteri for that long - but I could see SJM doing something like that!!
I finally just finished the book and ran to skim ACOSF and then to this video. I can’t even process all the information and the crossovers! I had to look up Gwydion and I remembered in the prison the vision Nesta has in the prison when she takes the harp. Was that the Fae being trapped on Midgard after the rift was resealed? It says “it was a trap and they were too blind to see” ahhh my mind is reeling. These were the only two crossovers I could think of right away with how scrambled my mind is from this book. Also I don’t think Bryce is the reincarnation of anyone, rather Theia’s power was passed on to her because Aidas says he would recognize the her light anywhere. Also the thunderbird thing confused me so much too cause it was so important then didn’t matter towards the end of the book. I think it’s all going to somehow connect to Thurr as it was mentioned he was a god and there is a planet also called Thurr. I’m thinking the thunderbirds and Hunt may be the last of his descendants? Ahh. There’s so much more to think about my head is spinning!!
Okay now I’m thinking about when the high lords are able to offer a seed of light to feyre and Rhys to resurrect them.. could this be equivalent to the first light and what the Asteri fed on when they were in their world. This is crazy lol I’m going to get any rest over this book 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
🤯 omg I didn’t even think of the seeds of power from ACOTAR!!! But that fits!!! A I’ve seen a lot of people speculating that Hunts dad is Thurr - I’m pretty sure it’s a statue of Thurr that Bryce sees when she’s w/ her parents in the beginning of the book and SJM def put that detail in there for a reason!
Yes also the fact they always have 7 gods, 7 asteri, etc. Could Sofie and hunt be related?? If Sofie made the drop how did she drown??? I think she could be revived!! They have her body in tact!!
I finished the book yesterday & I’m still confused. Bryce has all this power but can’t do anything with it? Even when she’s charged up, she’s just using someone else’s power - not hers. Sooo what good does having this massive power do her?
That is something I can't quite wrap my mind around neither.

This book was much harder to get through with the chase for Emile when it turns out he has no powers and then Bryce knew the whole time and then hid it from her so called mate. Then there was so much spice with little to no fluff from Hunt/Bryce i think that’s why I’m not obsessed with them as a couple because it feels totally sexual with little emotional ties? Now Ruhn and Day’s relationship I LOVE!! I don’t know if it’s the little things that they do for eachother that I’m obsessed with like the moment she told him she would never come to save him and then immediately does 😩🥺 that’s the type of relationship I like to see. And my brain can’t stop buzzing over the last chapter! Am I the only Gwynriel Stan that is over thinking truth tellers companion sword is called Gwydeon? COINCIDENCE I THINK NOT!!!
Ahhh I think you explained that so perfectly!! Bryce and Hunt really didn’t have a ton of emotional chemistry in this book - def not to the level of Feyre and Rhys or even Feyre and Tamlin (I don’t ship them but they def had there adorable/deep emotional moments in ACOTAR). And I love everything about Ruhn lol - I just don’t understand why he was so hostile toward Day after she saved them? Like I get he was upset but obviously she’s on there side and was undercover.
I’m not a Gwynriel Stan or Elain/Az Stan per say - I just want my favorite bat boy to be happy!! 💕

I think it’s suppose to be hunt but not 100% positive - I thought we were going to get an explanation of the gold eye on the cover but I don’t think that was ever explained!! 🧐

Do you know if the pack of wolf that was killed in the first book of crescent city? Will they be brought back?
The pack of devils? I think we will at least see Connor in the next book, not sure if the rest of the pack was already harvested for second light 🤷🏻♀️
@@HonestFiction I do remember Dankia said goodbye. Maybe she wasn't harvested for the second light.
@@michellek50 I believe Danika gave up her last kernel of power to help Bryce ascend during the drop - so she definitely didn’t get used for 2nd light. Hopefully the rest of the pack manages to avoid that as well
@@HonestFiction Do you think that humans are evolved into angels or thunderbirds. This did throw a lot of information to us. It's like the Lord of the Rings. I wish that each book was broken up because there is so much more information in this series. Especially with the connection with the other books.

Ok so hear me out. I may have had an epiphany and I wanted to share it with someone.

So I was trying to figure out why sjm spent so much time in Crescent City 2 and 3 and haven't gone back to acotar in a while. Then I thought about how the ending of book 2 left off with bryce in acotar. Then I was thinking about the next installment in acotar is azrael story. So what if we have to read crescent city 3 in order to find who azrael will be with in order for the next acotar to come out. What I'm getting to is.
What if Bryce is azraels mate? Which is why we've read more crescent city lately then acotar installments.

I liked this book more overall than the first book, however I def loved the last 20% of the first book more than this book. I didn’t really connect with this book. The “surprises” weren’t surprising. And their big mission at the end seemed forced. These books are much more complex than her previous series. They’re more rich and engaging, however I’m not going to re-read them regularly they way I do the others. Then you add in intentionally confusing pieces (ie who sent the reapers? Who is actually speaking? 😩) and I’m frustrated.
Plus, Bryce’s confusing power nonsense was so distracting. The fae respect power & she should be Queen, but hers use useless without someone else’s power! Sooo what?
I didnt like this book as much as the first one. It felt all over the place without any depth to it.I was in shock at the ending. So looking forward to the next ACOTAR book with Azriel,Elain and Gwyn's story and now we have Bryce in the mix, so will the next ACOTAR book be about her? Confusing.
I think the next book is going to be Crescent City 3 and hopefully the following book will be Az’s story taking place after the events of CC3 (but all of that is just my guess)
@@HonestFiction I love this theory. I’m obsessed with ACOTAR. I was waiting for the sixth book and now I’m not sure how it’s going to tie in the new series. I’m curious if Az's mate is in the other world. I think it’s crazy that fury looks similar to Amren! Also, I think it’s cool how this book doesn’t just jump to another world but it’s a full cross over!
