I marched 93 madison.. I am a hornline player.. mellophone to be exact… loved watching the drum line rehearse… so intense.. you break it down so well … thank you for the trip back in time 😃
What!?! I was 12 years old learning how to play this. I rewind my VCR like a hundred times learning how to play this. I can finally say I was right it had Flam Fives in it. Back then I had to look at the sticking but this guide shows that I was right all along. Amazing how technology works.
I spent alot of time around that drumline that summer. Still gives me chills to this day. From Butter winning solo I&E snare to Rj and the boys as a hole just playing their hearts out in those 3 nights at championship week in their hometown of Madison! Fantastic breakdown of such an iconic solo, thanks for this!
I always had a rough idea of how this was played back in the days. Finally got this learned. Thanks! Can't play it at that speed but still fun to play in a medium tempo.
Hi, they/I play whats written but there is an accelerando (big tempo jump) over that bar and they morph that part to cover the jump. I think I mention it in the vid? but if not you know now LOL.

I really liked their 91, 92, and 93 breaks.
Nice!! I was there in the rain that night!
I found that playing this snare break is one way to get people interested in learning Drum Corps styled Drumming and Drum Corps itself.

I love this 90s Madison stuff you've been doing! Keep up the great content, man!
Thanks Sam. Appreciate you watching and learning. I was a big fan of madison's swagger/attitude in the 90's

FYI did you know Jeff Moore borrowed some licks from Steve
Gadd in that solo? It’s from Paul Simon’s “Proof.”
Absolutely second this. 1992 through 1994 Scouts is what got me into marching production.
Yes sir this was another great vid.
thanks Isiah
amazing. that must of been a real hoot to clean lol
Great work! Thanks! I want to learn the 2003 BD shopping spree and the bluecoats syvatte, thanks!

hard
This sounds like some east coast played now
Love your stuff. Something’s up with the 3/4 bar at the end. What your playing is not what is written out. Not trying to hate, just fyi.

@@FreestyleRudiments awww. Got it. I just skipped to the end of the video to play through it for fun. Gotta keeps those hands in shape haha.
