I play this as a right hand left hand exercise. Playing the first eight measures over and over then move to the next section and then the last. If I really want to get ambitious I play the whole piece .

    Why arent the sixes notated

Because they are technically not sixes, they stay with the 16th note value. Making them sixes would make them be played faster

Just did a deep dive cause I was hearing the same thing. He is playing in his garage with a pad. The ECHO on the accented note kidna reverbs off the garage wall. I had to slow the video down and really listen to the strokes. In between the metronome sounds, and the accent on the paradiddles. The tap just sounds reverbs off the garage wall. it does sound like a Herta or some very quick RLR stroke leading the paradiddle and paradiddle diddle didles...

Good catch. Yes, the garage is full of echos for sure.
Maybe I should put some sound absorbing material
on the walls. (or maybe not) Ha! Thanks for watching.

I copied it off of the guy from Britain who explains the various beats. He's easy to find. Forgot his name.

Freestyle rudiments? I think that’s the guy you’re talking about or looking for

Great exercise, but am not a fan of that particular metronome🤷‍♂️🤔…

Dr. Beat is the most widely used met on the planet. You
can turn the obnoxious chirping sound down and I do
that most of the time depending on the situation.

@@DennisJohnsonDrummer I think he's talking about the subdiv

@@NobleZerman Yes, the subs can definitely get annoying, but I put those on to help people hear the subs and to see how all of the notes line up.

Take it line at a time & you will do fine.
Hey, that rhymes! Ha! Thanks for watching.
