      @@JasonVong You should also include explanation of when the subject is further away from the camera, then DoF gets larger, so i.e. shooting at f1.4 will have different DoF depending on how far the subject is from the camera. I assume you know that, right...?

I've watched TONS of other pro TH-cam channels on photography from other Pros yet Jason tells things that even an amateur like myself, who barely understands things like F-stops, can follow what Jason is saying. Great stuff. Thanks for putting this out. I do have a question that I was hoping you could help answer. I do a lot of portrait photography and there are always shots where one part of the model is out of focus or blurry and I can't figure out if it has to do with depth of field or my focus settings. For example, I have a shot where the model has her arms outstretched in front of her with her palm to the camera, signaling a stop motion✋️. When I focus on her face, her palm becomes blurry but her face is sharp. When I focus on her palm, then her face becomes blurry but her palm is sharp. If I want to get the model's face and palm both in focus in this case, will a higher f-stop do the job or if thus a focus issue? Any insight you could share on this would be greatly appreciated.

    • @careylymanjones
      @careylymanjones 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you've set the correct aperture and shutter speed for the effect you want, having your ISO too low will result in an underexposed shot. You will get more noise trying to fix the underexposure in post, than you would have, if you'd used the correct ISO, even if it's "high".
      If you have to use ISO 12,000 to get the exposure right, use ISO 12,000. It is almost ALWAYS better to get the exposure right, in the camera, than to try to fix it, in post.
