@@Juanguar if your game forces someone to have to look at outside sources to even have a chance at playing it that’s bad, the logical thing to do was to assume that it was the computer that wasn’t working and even when stryxo looked online it didn’t help

nah fr💀 having a pc is so goated until its fuckin not. Like every 2 missions in mw2022 i get this stupid fucking glitch where every light rendered in the map glows through walls and my screen glitches like crazy. All the fixes work temporarily and it pisses me off
True, tried to tweak doom 2016 but mods didn't even wanted to work

Fr, i bought far cry 3 but everytime I've played it for the last 6 years I've always used a pirated ver.
No need to use Ubisoft's f*cked launcher, game launches with good settings instead of breaking everytime, the screen settings don't break whenever I uninstall it and decide to re-install it months later, runs smoother, etc etc
Honestly it's surprising how many games are playable only becase the community around it cares more about it running well than the devs/publishers
This is me with Persona 4 PC Port. Official steam version crashes every ~hour, so I tried cracked version, and it works like a charm. Fuck denuvo

@@THE_SAM09 Well there are certain repack groups with decent enough reputation that compress the games into archives but I will not name any names, since it's totally illegal to do so. But you can probably find them with a couple of internet searches. What I would suggest would be to look into the policies of what the current country you live in are against downloading online stuff like this. I have heard horror stories from people living in the US or Germany for downloading movies or video games illegally.

@@THE_SAM09 this might be too late but in case you still need it, I would recommend rutracker. You can add chrome/firefox extension for it and almost always have access to the site. Personally, I never had issues with the repacks there, only inconvenience being that the site is entirely in russian

I don't get this guy. Instead of using the fix from the well established troubleshooting website, he goes with the fix on Steam Forums which is supposedly loaded with viruses.

I only gotten one error and that fixed with a setting. Still a bad remaster but hey the graphics looks nice

Compare this to every EA game on their launcher which has a 50/50 chance of launching at all. The only fix is to use a different Windows login each time and lose save data.

What an excellent remaster. Shame it's not excellent on PC.
I hope this doesn't deter you from working on your remake/remaster video. From what I've heard, the MW remake is heralded as one of the best remakes for a game. Perhaps that sentiment may resonate if you play it on the consoles?
This is also a great setup for them. Remasters are often a low effort cash grab either to resell a popular game or to resell a game that isn't available anymore because console exclusives. And that many times work worse than the original or not at all. Remakes are generally higher quality effort endeavors that can sometimes be entirely different games.
MWR was an incredible game, from a love letter remake of an iconic campaign that added even more tiny details to get the nerds like me to pop, to an incredible remake of a game changing multiplayer.
Say what you want about supply drops and MTX, I think they were handled the best they’d been until mw2019 onwards and the guns they added fit the time period and aesthetic, along with the ridiculously cool skins (not camos, think more of the modern day blueprints) that you could add to any weapon in a class once you unlocked it.

Which infuriates me. Raven clearly put their heart and soul into the game, even with Actisoy being the way that they are and recaptured how someone would play CoD4 back in 2007. It's why I hope CoD has a massive upheaval by Microsoft, atleast Activision will be forced to change and there is a minute change, PC and by extension, modding gets more love
This was similar to what I experienced in Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC, a game I bought last week. I had to refund it after crashing 6 times in the first mission. None of the solutions that other people gave even worked.

I couldn’t get the new MW2 to boot at all on my pc. The only potential fix I found involved manually updating my bios. I refunded and bought the game on my Xbox, now I’ve had basically 0 issues. An $80 game that just doesn’t boot, Activision just doesn’t care.
Honestly I’m with you, my biggest problem with troubleshooting games isn’t that it takes a long time or anything else like that, it’s just that by the time I get done, I don’t even feel like playing the game that much anymore. It makes it hard to care anymore. Strangely enough there is very little catharsis in finally getting it done, by then I’m just tired of it and want to watch a movie or something.
I really wish activison cared more about the older games. They are in horrible states and some of us would like to relive our childhood memories. Hell they could take a note from 343 and make a collection of the classic games that can all be played from one platform.
But then again then they couldn't charge you full price still for decade old games......

Just crack all of them, do not buy old cod games, activision doesn't deserve more profits on those, most old cod games literally have their own Community client made for it at this point, you can get IW3MP (for cod4), IW4x (for MW2), Plutonium (T4,T5,T6,IW5 || World at War, Black Ops 1, Black Ops 2, and MW3 respectively), IW6x (for Ghosts), S1x (for AW), H1 Mod (for MWR), with H2 mod being in development for MW2CR, and it already has a Spec-Ops and Survival mod, but no online yet because it requires creating a custom online backend for that one, since MW2CR does not feature online modes of any kind, so to have online for MW2CR you would need to create it from the ground up.
I felt that relief when the game actually launched, my STALKER modding has taught me a lot about that feeling.

The only problem is I don't want to play the game now because the FOV is so low and they decided not to add a slider for it in singleplayer
try using H1-mod instead of the actual game since it implements some bug fixes and gives free lootbox dlc
@@BauliusTorvoltos H1 mod is free, and it's a community made client that supports custom servers and they actively patch and support MWR after the original devs stopped...
@@BauliusTorvoltos that mod doesn't need you to own the game, they provide the full game in a torrent download, and then you just put their mod exe in the game folder and that's it, no paying required, activision doesn't increase their bottom line, you play their game, they get no profit...

I’m not the most tech savvy guy. I got my friend to help me buy most of the parts and then had him help me build my PC as well. To this day I still find the process a bit overwhelming and whenever I disassemble I get little mini heart attacks.
But it’s kind of so refreshing to know that other people deal with shit like this too. I have had to troubleshoot so many games in the past. Mostly because of mods I have installed, but I still remember downloading the games for windows live fix for Fallout 3 and praying to shadow Jesus for it to work. I love my PC but when it comes to big releases I’m much more inclined to play it on my consoles simply for the lack of problems that could go wrong.

That's good that I "bought" this game with 100% discount and didn't get this error. Because COD fatigue got me again and I couldn't finish this game :) By the way, it seems that if you found an older game on the green launcher, it will - almost certainly - have no issues like that or like in fallout 3 because this community that distribute games for free is more aware and willing to fix compatibility problems than big publishers who want your money but don't want to waste time to support their own game.
Unpopular opinion but I like troubleshooting, because I always seem to learn something new from how multiple systems work together (or don’t)
I do think its good for learning purpose but this is for other purpose, its super sucks when you ready to play mood and when you start the game, didn't work at all and you need troubleshoot why this game didn't run or anything,it still sucks to everyone even if you pc enthusiast

I've had absolute horror experiences with certain games on PC 3 times now and i *NEVER EVER* want to experience it again.

I don't know if this would work but one thing to try would be to uninstall the game > quit Steam > launch Steam as admin > install the game. Sometimes files can't be written due to permissions, Windows sucks
Yeah windows is ass. Tries to install and run a fuckton of bloatware in the background (so much so that Linus tech tips actually did a test to see if it slows down your PC, but of course he used high end test benches so it didn't matter anyways), windows doesn't allow you into certain folders despite you being the administrator, the settings menu is so convoluted at times that you know you're getting closer to a solution when you enter a menu that's archaic in design with windows 7 icons. Then there's the spying, which sadly is just par for the course with a lot software now cause most people think they have nothing to hide.

Windows is awful. That's just a fact. But making a good OS, profiting and getting developers to make programs for said OS is difficult. There's a reason there's basically no other OS systems out there minus Linux and IOS which is just in its own little bubble.

COD WaW on PC has run out of multiplayer CD Keys.
So in other words you can still buy WaW but not play Multiplayer or Zombies.
Refunded last year after 2 hours of troubleshooting, no regrets.
There's a fix, just use plutonium you can use mods and working multiplayer without getting RATTED.

Crazy how I got this video recommended one day after I downloaded the game and faced all the same problems. If it has been recommended 6 hours earlier then I would've saved myself a lot of time

ive had this same problem on minecraft. whenever I try to lookup a fix (I have tried 10+ solutions to the same problem) they never work and never help
I was a PC guy from 2008 to 2014, but my PC was always underpowered and I had to troubleshoot old games or play newer games on low settings and low FPS, so for the eight generation I went with a PS4 and I have no regrets, I bought PS+, they gave away MW Remastered one month, played it, had a pretty good time and moved on.
Now, in 2022, i have a PC again (nothing too fancy, 16 gigs of ram, Ryzen 5 5600, a 3060, not the best but it runs the games I want to at decent settings) and man...
I did not miss all the troubleshooting, I was trying to play Deus Ex (the first one) and installed some mods to increase compatibility with modern systems and add support to Dx12, that installed easy, the problem was the guy who made the mod made it so that his PayPal is basically locked in your copy paste as long as the game is open, so there i was, 1 in the morning editing a fricking hexadecimal file to stop a modders shilling.
funniest part is that I have never had a problem using cracked versions of the game

Thankfully I've never had to put up with buggy games like that. Only time I've had to troubleshoot for more than 5 days was with XCOM 2 but it was 100% my fault, I destroyed that poor game with mods (also a misplaced config folder, whoops)

This reminds me of the time when I tried to get Black Ops 2 to run in 2012.
I spent multiple days trying to identify the problem only to find out that i literally had to update my fkn BIOS MANUALLY to get the game to run.

@@77ELCREADOR I think it didnt crash during gameplay for me, it just wasn't starting at all so what you are experiencing might be a different problem. I sadly can't tell you what I did exactly anymore since its been ages but i just followed a youtube tutorial on how to update your BIOS and it worked afterwards, no guarantee though. Best of luck!
The titanfall 2 game at the beginning gave me chills.
I played the original one in a 15 year old nintendo wii recently, and it works very well.
my brother in christ i had the absolute same problems with the same 2 fixes that should work and doesn't work and the sketchy steam link from the same guy
and then laggy clunky few missions and then the game crashes for no apparent reason loading that mission. I feel your pain

dealing with computers not working for no reason is basically what I do for a living. It is annoying and frustrating. When I want to play a video game I don't want to deal with it. Not to mention trying to be sure a game will even run on a PC. This is why I stick with consoles despite the obvious benefits of PCs
You just summed up perfectly why most of the time I stick to consoles even though they will always be the weaker hardware.
The constant danger of a game not running or even starting in the first place just because my PC is lacking some programms or whatever is simply not worth it to me.
Sure the Switch is the weakest new nintendo console but has a ton of games that run just fine and look good enough on it. The one thing that is true for now is the fact that there are way too few exclusives on PS5 so yeah, no reason to get it but it doesn't matter since I still have a huge backlog on PS3 and 4 to go through (let alone some other older consoles too).
The game works just fine on PS4 and besides the typical microtransaction bullshit in multiplayer doesn't really have many negatives to it so the title is kinda misleading since it's just the PC version that sucks here...

I am so done with modern FPS games and remasters. I bought Halo MCC off the Microsoft Store (mistake #1) and it forces you to use this crappy launcher that takes (I kid you not I timed this) 30 MINUTES to boot up the main menu! And if you want to go watch TH-cam or something while it's loading, when it's finished, NOTHING SHOWS UP ON SCREEN! You can go to the tab, but you can't do anything other than relaunch it and wait another 30 minutes. This sucks because I really love the Halo games, but I can't fricking play them because it takes too much time to load!
TL:DR, don't buy anything off the Microsoft Store

There’s actually a really cool modded client called the H1 Mod. It gives you a bunch of other settings, gives you access to different servers and communities, and optimizes the game way better than the default steam version.
The H1 mod runs really well. Shame activision can’t fix their own doodoo
I have found that, if the game is AAA, wait 6 months before you buy to see if the publisher fixes it or lets it pass in the void.

I literally bought it a few days ago, ran without issue besides the well known missing FOV setting and the crashing once you turn off shader pre-load and after downloading a FOV mod that adds a slider i played it without issue, guess i got lucky?

I had thousands of hours in MWR multiplayer I met my best friends that I talk to every single day on that game. I'm pretty sure the mp is dead across the board from consoles, to pc, to even the mwr client called H1 but when it was alive I promise it was really good.

I’ve played this game on the PS4 and it’s very well optimized there and runs great. Not sure why the console version is fantastic but they completely fucked the PC version

You know, I didn't expect a 'game video' on youtube to be _that_ relatable. And friends were always saying "oh, how it's always you who have issues like this, clearly you have something wrong with your PC" (= skill issue) for every trouble I mention encountering, while steam forums and guides are filled with ppl complaining about it and searching for solutions. At this point, for older games, I check guides section before even launching to make sure there aren't mandatory 100 hoops to jump through to make it launch.
And it fucking baffles me how big companies release their AAA product in this sorry ass state and refuse to fix. As someone in the gamedev myself, we consider far smaller bugs to be a "blocker" and absolute no-no for a release, this shit happens. One more reason to ignore AAA industry in general and play only indies or oldies.

bought the game a week ago for my pc because cod 4 remastered was my favorite call of duty game for awhile it’s ridiculous that these companies can charge full price for broken games that are multiple years old that have no fixes
I feel like I must have the magic setup or something since I've only ever had a few issues with MWR. It runs well on my honestly kind of mid PC, I never got the "out of memory" error, and the crashing I found I could fix my not having the game preload during cutscenes. So maybe do that? Or just use H1 mod, it makes everything better even if it was already working fine for people like me.
I honestly thought you were talking about the new Modern Warfare 2, I've also had my fair share with weird bugs like random reboots and my keyboard not registering. Activision's PC ports just plain suck and it's a shame that they're releasing those games half assed.

I still prefer PCs for the moment, at least most PCs CAN be troubleshooted whereas if something fucks up on a console you're basically SOL
Not true. The only time something fucks up on a console is when the console itself is damaged, or today when games release broken and everyone has the same issue, in which case it's guaranteed to see a fix. Issues on PC can be very common yet never receive patches, because the problem is still too isolated to be priority for the developer given how many hardware and software configurations there are.
The software itself is extremely unlikely to be broken because it's designed to run on the same system everywhere. As someone who played on consoles for years, I don't recall ever experiencing an issue out of my control besides my Xbox itself being faulty and in need of replacement, which is a different subject entirely. Meanwhile, it feels like every second game on PC has issues I need to go out of my way to fix, and I've been playing on PC for way longer than consoles.
Thank god I have a console, All I have to wait for is people calling me a cracker or something on Xbox. The most fun you can have playing cod multiplayer Is getting insulted by everyone in a lobby tbh, never fails to crack me up.

Troubleshooting is generally easier when most of the things you try are related to the error

I only started getting these identical issues when I upgraded from my Titan X Pascal to my RTX 3070ti. Could that have something to do with it?

normally in other cod games this wouldn't be remotely at all a hassle as if you alt+f4 out (or leave in another way without clicking exit or crashing) it will ask you "hey you wanna run this in safe mode?" no clue why this doesn't pop up beforehand but you'd be fine if that happened
Sometimes these gives false positives because of the sharing site used. A hint is that he said he put the link to the site 6:00 not the folder itself. As many sharing sites can be used to upload anything people might have used them to spread viruses, which then these checker sites/anti-virus programs may notice and warn for. Even if it is a simple image or something not a program that is uploaded.
Holy shit i just went down the rabbit hole of activision still selling EVERY COD game for an egregious amount. I even looked for steam key resellers and its all the same. Cant even play the original black ops anymore because youd need the map packs for zombies and of course those are STILL RETAIL PRICE

Been PC gaming since the DOS days - I can report that things are easier today than they ever have been, but it's still much of the same launch-day woes of the 90s. At least back then, you could phone up the company that made the game and they'd be able to steer you in the right direction of getting your new game to work properly. Now you have to hope they tweet about it on twitter or hear about a potential fix coming OTA through the grapevine. Forums can help sometimes, but that's still the blind leading the blind.

They are really bad with updates. On older COD titles there are multiple remote code execution vulnerabilities that is known to them for years, has had community patches yet they did nothing about it. Meaning when you join a multiplayer game a malicious actor could do almost anything to your pc. It's insane. Steam stepped in and removed the multiplayer tag from the game store page but that isn't really helpful. If you haven't played this game in a while and wanted to just check if it's still alive you get no warning or nothing when launching it. And the games are still sold on storefronts. I feel like this should probably be illegal in some form. The publisher is still around, they sell the game, they know about the issues, they have the option to fix it or at a bare minium inform the users when they try to play the game yet they sit there doing nothing. This isn't just some small crash or some little bug, it opens up the possibility of someone stealing your passwords and the likes.

When i first played MW remastered i didn't have any issues of the game not launching but the game did keep freezing on one mission until i figures out i had something wrong with the game setting and it did the trick.
Edit:I recently got cod cold war on steam and it keeps crashing and i try to fix it by verify the files and reinstalling the game but it didn't work so i guess this is how he feels.
i dunno, i feel like it's mostly caused by CoD having an overly rushed dev cycle and not being properly QA tested. And/or big companies being lazy and not wanting to properly make stuff.
hell, i got Destiny recently have had way more issues with it not connecting than I ever have in my lifetime of PC gaming lol.
Valve has to be aware of this yet still allow it to be sold on their platform and clearly don't force Activision to fix the issue and have the game delisted until it's done. Its also the case for a lot of games being sold when they shouldn't.
Well unless they're publishing something directly by their own design it isn't on them to fix their games made by other people. Doing that would be an insane amount of work and a ridiculous money pool.
Remember that valve is mainly a distributor in most cases when it comes to steam.

First day I bought it I had to redownload it. 5 hours later, the textures start to bug.
I personally love troubleshooting it makes it gives me an inside to how the game works and it feels so rewarding when the game actually works
I just downloaded COD: MW Remastered today (totally legally) and in Act 1 on the mission The Bog, I can't even get pass the cut scene because it says like GPU is restraining the action on the a bunch of specific files like shit bro
Disable shader prelude settings. That worked for me.

Play Modern Warfare 2019 on the Series X. It's the first game I played on a next gen system. It was almost the last. I had to check that I hadn't accidentally put it in my 360.
I hope that's a joke as that would be impossible.

Troubleshooting pc games got me a job in IT in college & eventually software engineering after, but man is it the opposite of playing video games. Only deal with this shit if you like it, now that my job is banging my head against the desk figuring out why this thing on the computer doesn't work I just play ps5 at the end of the day. It reminds me of that internet quote about linux,

The guy who give you the players2 dir probably had that set to 16x in his config
