Yes, it was a crime that Discovery got more seasons than Enterprise. Season 4 of Enterprise was some of the best Star Trek ever written (minus the first and last episodes), it truly deserved a 5th season.
I feel for folks who do not want change, but at this point, the Kelvin timeline has been shown in Picard Season 1 to be split off from the primary timeline. It does not disagree with the primary timeline, it is in addition to it. I have enjoyed it and its alternative characterizations. They've done it well. I would be happy to see more movies either timeline.
After the Romulan War prequel movie, Paramount should broadcast an anthology series called "Star Trek: The Lost Era" covering four main plot threads: Sulu's tenure as captain of the USS Excelsior, John Harriman's time as captain of the Enterprise B, Rachel Garrett's time as captain of the Enterprise C, and, finally, Jean-Luc Picard's early Starfleet career, including his time as captain of the USS Stargazer.
There’s more than one book with that heading, I think. Read a good one with Worf’s grandfather on the cover. It covered Klingon and Cardassian interactions and featured Kurzon among other people.
Move forward, not back again. Make it unconnected directly to other shows. Make it on a space station, or new colony on fringes of known space, or a new explorer class. Long form, yet episodic. Anything but another prequel!
Consider that right now they have a tremendous resource in the living actors. I wouldn’t be inclined to ignore that. I’d vote for a show that combines some of the best characters whose actors are ready to continue.

In a sense, ST6 was a prequel, in that TNG was on, and most of us figured we had left the 23rd century behind.
DS9 had a war story and I seriously doubt it will be equaled in TREK in a while. Let’s see a few more TREK concepts first before we delve into another war series.

As a Star Trek old head, I believe die hard fans would be interested in the first encounters with each of the member planets of the UFP and how the formation of the Federation took place. There’s gotta be plenty of interesting stories that can be developed around this plot.

The "smart" play for a Star Trek prequel would be starting with the thirty ninth century and chronicle the Temporal Wars taking place from the very beginning of the formation of The United Federation of Planets, Starfleet, and especially Section 31.

We already have a good movie regarding First Contact and 4 seasons of early exploration with Enterprise. I would like to see something a bit original or something following some great Star Trek novels.

The Enterprise model, the sets, the tech, the costumes, the tone are all completely redone and bares little resemblance to TOS and it only takes place 2 years later. Should the TOS movies be non canon or shouldn't have been made? SNW sucks for the most part but the visually it looks better and more realistic in every way. The Enterprise actually has details that make it fit with not only the series Enterprise but the movies and shows that take place after TOS. Unless they're contradicting lore or unnecessarily changing the looks of things where they have no resemblance like Discovery ships, uniforms, and Klingons then no big deal. Production values have just gotten more realistic.

I think people are too hard to please. I am a huge fan of TOS and I will always consider it to alone be the real trek, but I totally recognize that as a person experience. I think I can objectively argue it to have, for some episodes, a quality of writing and acting that was so far ahead of its time that it can only be called prodigious, but I also recognize TNG as being a lot more expansive and very much in keeping with the spirit of the original despite all the time between. I won't sing high praises for any of the other series, but the weren't bad, just had sooooo much to live up to. And as much as I found STTMP to be unstructured, and the new sequels disappointingly less "deep" and emotional, They have their own great characteristics that I appreciate. Of course, you will all hate me when I tell you think the fourth best of the original crew movies was The Final Frontier. I personally think it was extremely in touch with the first season of TOS, and fans just got touchy about exploring the dark side of Vulcan culture, but that was neither the beginning nor the end of that in truth.
But it’s worth noting, whether you love or hate the last 3 films, everything since has been much, much worse, with the exception of the decent STP s3. Beyond was Shakespeare compared to STD and the rest.
What about life afew yrs before 1st contact with the Vulcans observing humanity & the lead up to first contact & the UFP being formed with the issues between those involved???
If JJ Abram's is involved with it then that's the prime timeline destroyed 😅 they have plenty of content for the formation of the federation in ST Enterprise. Why not focus on the voyages of the USS Bozeman or the Enterprise C 😅
The best thing they could do is undo the Kelvin alternate timeline. That would make for a great movie. Kinda like a “Yesterday’s Enterprise” except on the big screen. But they won’t do it as there is potentially more money to be made by re-animating this corpse. The next movie after that should be a voyager movie. Bring everyone back. Including the writers and show runners. But no one is asking for my opinion.

I'll probably watch it, but I'm not sure if I like the idea of a prequel. As noted in the video, since Enterprise, Star Trek has consisted mostly of prequels. Don't me wrong, I enjoyed most of Enterprise, mostly liked discovery (the first season felt off) and love Strange New Worlds, but I feel so many prequels with execellent special effects makes the other shows and films look both cheap and out of date. Discovery handles it even worse. Did they really expect us to believe that they'd develop a drive far superior to Warp engines, install it on a ship, then forget the technology? Even though Discovery is now in the far future, Starfleet would have blueprints, plans, other documentation and prototypes they could work from. I'd like to see a series or film set in the TNG/DS9/Voyager era, perhaps with the further adventures of the Enterprise-E, Defiant or Voyager. They could also include cast members from those show.
I agree. Given how Discovery acknowledges the Kelvin timeline but never visits it I would love to see both explored more. Just imagine if they were to explore the greatest battle of the Temporal Wars as a crossover event of the Kelvin timeline & Prime timeline vs the Sphere Builders & 8472
Perhaps give Enterprise a movie series focusing on the Romulan War which had been the supposed plan for their next story arcs until the show was canceled and they had to rush an ending to stories with part of the season already done and contracts already in place with Frakes for what became the finale.

This sounds like post ST:ENT territory. Still bitter about its cancellation after four seasons. It was a risky venture from the start because a prequel meant a scaled back version of Star Trek. Still the show was gathering steam and presumably evolving to the next stages of its timeline.

I feel the more modern Star Trek movies have lost their understanding,, of the original concepts of Star Trek. The modern movies totally miss the relationship between Captain Kirk, bones and Spock. The modern movies made Spock a Simpy Volcan with a girlfriend. What is that all about? In the original Star Trek, Captain Kirk, Dr. Spock and bones had an amazing friendship. Dr. Spock and bones had great arguments and rivalry. But they are friends. Captain Kirk was a true strong captain. Professional yet relatable. He took no crap from anyone. Yet Captain Kirk was passionate and a great strategies. The new Star Wars is not about seeking out new worlds and new civilizations. The new Star Trek is not boldly going, where no one has gone before. The new Star Trek is unfortunately has become mission impossible in space. Although the new Star Trek has capable talented actors in it. Its need to be an action movie,, while checking all of it political agendas boxes. has caused it to lose its uniqueness. Don’t get me wrong,, diversity is definitely needed in Hollywood films. But the need for diversity is overtaking the quality of storytelling. You could still have diversity and tell a great story. The diversity should not be the focus of the story. Just make better Star Trek movies. I’ve completely given up on the TV shows. What they did to Picard was sad.
That most recent Star Trek trilogy was kind of odd... First one was really, really bad. The second one was somehow even worse... by a lot. The third one was amazing. I literally have no idea what to expect of the next one.

Lower Decks is definitely worthy if you haven’t seen it as it very much stays within the original Trek universe and takes place a few years after VOY. I gave it a try after staying away, and I was wrong to dismiss it. Prodigy is ok, again staying within the prime timeline. I agree that everything else, inc. Picard can disappear into a black hole. Section 31 is going to be poop.
I’m so damn sick of these prequels. Star Trek fans are desperately waiting for a continuation of Star Trek post voyager. Robt Meyer Burnett needs to be asked (just to kill his complaining about prequels) when we ever saw the depiction of the Klingon-Federation War despite what he thinks about Axanar or him saying Discovery is notable (when a lot of Trek folk unlike me hate Discovery, etc). First Contact was a prequel, and part of Picard was prequel, DS9 did prequel 21st century, why is that BAD? Because he wants to complain thinking that's a method of seeming smart? Lot's of stories are there- what happened in the late 21st century with 'the post atomic horror as Picard called it in Farpoint, The show Picard already prequeled Baby Noonien Singh a little but there are those paperbacks (Im not that interested). The Enterprise model, the sets, the tech, the costumes, the tone are all completely redone and bares little resemblance to TOS and it only takes place 2 years later. Should the TOS movies be non canon or shouldn't have been made? SNW sucks for the most part but the visually it looks better and more realistic in every way. The Enterprise actually has details that make it fit with not only the series Enterprise but the movies and shows that take place after TOS. Unless they're contradicting lore or unnecessarily changing the looks of things where they have no resemblance like Discovery ships, uniforms, and Klingons then no big deal. Production values have just gotten more realistic.

I think people are too hard to please. I am a huge fan of TOS and I will always consider it to alone be the real trek, but I totally recognize that as a person experience. I think I can objectively argue it to have, for some episodes, a quality of writing and acting that was so far ahead of its time that it can only be called prodigious, but I also recognize TNG as being a lot more expansive and very much in keeping with the spirit of the original despite all the time between. I won't sing high praises for any of the other series, but the weren't bad, just had sooooo much to live up to. And as much as I found STTMP to be unstructured, and the new sequels disappointingly less "deep" and emotional, They have their own great characteristics that I appreciate. Of course, you will all hate me when I tell you think the fourth best of the original crew movies was The Final Frontier. I personally think it was extremely in touch with the first season of TOS, and fans just got touchy about exploring the dark side of Vulcan culture, but that was neither the beginning nor the end of that in truth.

The best thing they could do is undo the Kelvin alternate timeline. That would make for a great movie. Kinda like a “Yesterday’s Enterprise” except on the big screen. But they won’t do it as there is potentially more money to be made by re-animating this corpse. The next movie after that should be a voyager movie. Bring everyone back. Including the writers and show runners. But no one is asking for my opinion.

I'll probably watch it, but I'm not sure if I like the idea of a prequel. As noted in the video, since Enterprise, Star Trek has consisted mostly of prequels. Don't me wrong, I enjoyed most of Enterprise, mostly liked discovery (the first season felt off) and love Strange New Worlds, but I feel so many prequels with execellent special effects makes the other shows and films look both cheap and out of date.
Discovery handles it even worse. Did they really expect us to believe that they'd develop a drive far superior to Warp engines, install it on a ship, then forget the technology? Even though Discovery is now in the far future, Starfleet would have blueprints, plans, other documentation and prototypes they could work from.
I'd like to see a series or film set in the TNG/DS9/Voyager era, perhaps with the further adventures of the Enterprise-E, Defiant or Voyager. They could also include cast members from those show.

Perhaps give Enterprise a movie series focusing on the Romulan War which had been the supposed plan for their next story arcs until the show was canceled and they had to rush an ending to stories with part of the season already done and contracts already in place with Frakes for what became the finale.

This sounds like post ST:ENT territory. Still bitter about its cancellation after four seasons. It was a risky venture from the start because a prequel meant a scaled back version of Star Trek. Still the show was gathering steam and presumably evolving to the next stages of its timeline.

Sorry not interested in JJ screwing up Star Trek lore. Not going to see this just like the only Paramount Streaming series was Picard Season 3, but don't count that as true Trek either, since it was affected by all that Bad Robot Garbage: Discovery, Picard, and Strange New Worlds.
I feel the more modern Star Trek movies have lost their understanding,, of the original concepts of Star Trek. The modern movies totally miss the relationship between Captain Kirk, bones and Spock. The modern movies made Spock a Simpy Volcan with a girlfriend. What is that all about? In the original Star Trek, Captain Kirk, Dr. Spock and bones had an amazing friendship. Dr. Spock and bones had great arguments and rivalry. But they are friends. Captain Kirk was a true strong captain. Professional yet relatable. He took no crap from anyone. Yet Captain Kirk was passionate and a great strategies. The new Star Wars is not about seeking out new worlds and new civilizations. The new Star Trek is not boldly going, where no one has gone before. The new Star Trek is unfortunately has become mission impossible in space. Although the new Star Trek has capable talented actors in it. Its need to be an action movie,, while checking all of it political agendas boxes. has caused it to lose its uniqueness. Don’t get me wrong,, diversity is definitely needed in Hollywood films. But the need for diversity is overtaking the quality of storytelling. You could still have diversity and tell a great story. The diversity should not be the focus of the story. Just make better Star Trek movies. I’ve completely given up on the TV shows. What they did to Picard was sad.

Lower Decks is definitely worthy if you haven’t seen it as it very much stays within the original Trek universe and takes place a few years after VOY. I gave it a try after staying away, and I was wrong to dismiss it. Prodigy is ok, again staying within the prime timeline. I agree that everything else, inc. Picard can disappear into a black hole. Section 31 is going to be poop.

Robt Meyer Burnett needs to be asked (just to kill his complaining about prequels) when we ever saw the depiction of the Klingon-Federation War despite what he thinks about Axanar or him saying Discovery is notable (when a lot of Trek folk unlike me hate Discovery, etc). First Contact was a prequel, and part of Picard was prequel, DS9 did prequel 21st century, why is that BAD? Because he wants to complain thinking that's a method of seeming smart? Lot's of stories are there- what happened in the late 21st century with 'the post atomic horror as Picard called it in Farpoint, The show Picard already prequeled Baby Noonien Singh a little but there are those paperbacks (Im not that interested). Here’s a crazy idea. Let Rod Roddenberry write the next movie or TV show. And let’s please stop the endless prequel bullshit, even the Prime timeline. They had their shot with Enterprise, which should have gone seven seasons. Bakula & company did all of this and made it believable. Prequels as a concept are lacking in imagination; doing them in such a canon-dependent franchise as Star Trek is especially difficult to pull off, and they have not been handled particularly well thus far. Strange New Worlds is arguably the exception that proves the rule. Enterprise was revisionist history trash, and was deservedly cut short. Discovery was badly-written, anachronistic, revisionist history trash, and was also deservedly cut short. The Kelvin-timeline films limped along until the law of diminishing returns deservedly cut them short. How many times do these particular lessons need to be demonstrated?!? First, stop doing prequels - they're risky, no one is asking for them, and you don't do them well. Second, put the story in the future of the established, canonical timeline. Third, keep Alex Kurtzman and JJ Abrams away from anything related to Star Trek. Fourth, stop being so try-hard about attracting new fans - if you do it *right*, the established fans will bring in new fans.
