    I detail my car myself and get good exercise out of it. I take my time to do it right. At some point when I am old and can’t do it anymore I might consider hiring. Still I am picky and probably not hiring just because I don’t trust anyone but myself.

    This took me 5 hours to do my 4Runner by myself the other day. 1.5 hrs to do interior vacuum, dust, rinse mats, and APC, and then 3.5 hrs to do wheels, pressure wash, IronX, rinse, blowdry, Optimum No Rinse, towel dry, 3D Speed wax with DA, and final touchup with Beadmaker. With two more people who knew what they were doing it would go a lot faster!

    What are the pros and cons to doing a towel wash. It's actually my forst time hearing about it

    • @taylorweick8688
      @taylorweick8688 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      One time use towels for every wash. Example. Myself and my helper use 2 towels and no buckets for every single wash. After the wash the towels are tossed. If you use mits for every wash it’s more stuff you have to carry and clean after every job and dirty cars will leave lots of filth in your mitts that can cross contaminate your other micro fibers when washed. Additionally microfiber towels and be fit in tight areas with finger tips and better glide around corners and edges u like a wash kit.

      Honestly best advice would be to speed it up. I felt the same when I started. But over time you’ll see what’s unnecessary and what things really matter. And always remember how much they are paying. You can’t take 2 hours for just wash and vacuum. And I used to do that 😅 results are the same and I do wash and vacuum in about 45 min now

    • @Vanlifecrisis
      @Vanlifecrisis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you got a harbor freight where you are, they sell an almost rubbery waffle weave towel, its like 3 bucks. Its a game changer, spray on towel, wipe, then hit it with dry side or another of the same towel. Make sure you wipe in opposite direction from the outside so you know where streaks are. If that fails (rare), you can try to "clay" the window with a magic eraser and stoners first. Dont use the eraser on tinted windows tho.

    Being in a sunny state like Texas, would you see any benefit to bringing a tent to detail the cars under? The are very inexpensive and fit tightly in a bag like the bag chairs you see but they are like 30 seconds to pull out the bag and with 2 people it can pop in place in 1-2 min tops. Be great for both the vehicles and employees getting out of the sun all day and they take up very little space very light and inexpensive. I think people use them for tailgating at sports events or cook outs and graduation parties. But it make a great car port that is mobile for the van. Keeping employees cool and healthy keeps morale, attitude, energy positive and safe from the potential heat exhaustion on certain days. Could be considered safety equipment if you can find a tax write off
