Usually more emotional episodes tend to have more human or alien screentime than the actual fight itself. I think having less of the fight would've worked better to get us more attached to the characters more. For example, Aoi says that she listenened to her parents nagging, so I would've liked to seen a conversation between them (in-person or on a phone call) to experience what Aoi is feeling. All of her problems that caused her to break and summon King of Mons should've been longer as well as her time with the "Dream Bird" showing the impact of her life getting better because of its companionship. However, I do love the great action sequence that this episode gave us. The unique camera angles and transitions in the fight really makes it the standout part of this episode and may be one of the most memorable fights in the series. Givas appearing was cool, and I liked it didn't exactly come out of nowhere since we had a two-parter prior to establish that the character exists and is on good-terms with our hero, so it was a welcome surprise. Even through Gaia doesn't appear in the episode, I do not mind. Yes, it makes sense since it is King of Mons that they're fighting but I think it works better in the story's favour if Givas appeared as we already had a 4-part crossover with Blazar that already took up half of the second part of Arc. Gaia appearing would've have gotten a cheer out of me, but ultimately Givas works in the story's favour (depending if they utilize him well in the next couple of episodes). These last 2 episodes were overall pretty good and I hope that plot points like the Ooze and GDF guy Ishido talked to converge together in the finale.
I think this episode & episode 7 are both great episodes, in that they really make you wish they did more in previous episodes. In episode 7, the creation of the luna armor is connected to the impact Yuma’s mom had on him. Which makes me wish we got to see the impact his dad had on him on episode 4, where he got the solis armor. This episode had Arc & Givas teaming up against King of Mons, which kinda makes me wish we got Earth Garon & Givas fighting together in the blazar collab, but I guess because nobody said to help ultraman, Givas never came at that time. Speaking of Givas, give my friend some repairs & upgrades, he seriously deserves it.
Actually, the King of Mons suit used in this Episode is actually a new suit created for Arc. It’s not the original suit from the Hyperbattle in Space Movie.
So I actually did think about King of Mons coming back however I haven't watched Ultraman Gaia yet so I know little to no information on the character.
