  • NEW DELHI: India’s rich culture and artistic diversity was on full display in Taipei at the annual Diwali event hosted by the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and co-organised by the Indian community. The event was first organized in 2020, scaled down a bit the following year due to Covid but this time there was a special attraction: the legend of Diwali depicted in the form of Ram Leela (a musical drama), featuring Taiwanese and Indian artists. Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu and Legislator Madam YC Wu, President of Taiwan-India Friendly Association of Taiwan Parliament, graced the event as chief guests. About 5000 Indians live in Taiwan, nearly half of them students.
