Thanks for this - just fitted the badlands flasher to my fxr (found one in the UK!) And now my led indicators (blinkers) function properly. I would never had known about it without this video!
Man, I ain’t jealous of anyone but that garage space.... Looks like a killer place to escape. I have to work on my FXR in my front yard with angry neighbors watching how long each job takes me... or on the side of countless freeways hahaha.
Thanks man! I try to make it a place to relax and escape while getting projects done. I hear you on that, freeway work comes with the territory of owning the FXR lol. Thanks for watching!
Im starting to clean up my rear fender. Got a lay down plate in the mail today. Tonight im planning to order a lay down light cover and saddlemen seat just like yours. Electrical is my weak point so was going to run og bulbs. I just noticed the og style tail bulb comes out way to far for anything that will allow a shorter laid back cover i want so prob need to go led. The thing is i have a old set what i think are cool fender support/strut mounted with integrated turn signals id like to keep and need upgrade my front turn signal so maybe a munit nightmare (for me) might be in my furture?
Going integrated is the way to go! It really cleans things up, if you can work a sodder gun and heat shrink you’ll do just fine. Only way do is to dive into it head first! Message me on Instagram if you get stuck!
@@freebirdsgarage thanks beother going to get ya on my ig right now. I'm good at soldering as long as im being told where lol. Im sure il be in touch and please keep making videos. They help
The link I have should be a direct plug in. I don’t why it showing that you have to install the pins to the connector. When I ordered mine it was ready to go out of the box. So it should be plug and play for you .
i dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know a way to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost the password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
Jason I went to replace my old tail light that was working and when I tried it put the new one on that was supposed to work with my 87 FXR. didn’t work.. ordered a different light from FXRdivision and again nothing, I went to put tue old one back on and ya that was dead now aswell.. I did obv cut the wires when I put the new tail lights on and properly connected them. Idk to be honest I just blasted around this summer a bit without it but now It’s driving me nuts any insight?
Hi could you tell me one thing I have a FXR and tried to install this same tail light but the inside of the taillight hits the led tail light so It wont go all the way in side did you do some modification?
Are you using MoonsMC? If you are, the plug for the LED tail light should go right into the socket of the old tail light or are you talking about the housing of the tail light not fitting right?
@@blackparade That's odd, when you try and line it up. Do the screw holes not align with base or when you start to screw the taillight down does it not completely seal?
@@freebirdsgarage Yeah it lines up but you know the part that is sticking out from the tail light base? That part hits the inside of the led tail light before it seals the tail light I dont get how it fits 😂
@@freebirdsgarage hey. I'm installing on of these moons Mc v3 tail lights too my 86 fxrs. Having the same fitment problem. With regards to Shaving the base plate down.. should.i shave down the point where the bulb would be ? It seems to protrude and prevent the lense from sealing.
On mine I needed 2 in-line in each light to make it work. So I skipped that and went with a badlands turn signal module. The part number should be in the description.
Great video, I have the same bike and want to install this. Do you know if there is a way to reprogram the signals to continuously blink until the signal is clicked again, or do they only blink and stop after 5 or so seconds? thanks!
Just did this tonight, I definitely need the badlander equalizer
It's the way to go, it will take the frustration right out

Nice video! Soon as I get my fxr back from the shop I’ll be putting those lights on. Thanks again for a great video.
Glad you like it! If you have any questions when your doing it, let me know I’d be happy to help. Thanks for watching!

@Desmond Barrett instablaster ;)
Did you have to cut the bade plate to make that light work?
90's and up back plate, you do not have to. But you will if you have a late model.
can u use the oem wiring for the integrated tail light?
Yes, but you will need to add a load resister or add a LED turn signal flasher module.

Good chance they are not grounding correctly. Follow the wires and to the circuit board you may have blown a fuse
Good info. I'm digging the vids.
Thank you sir!

@@blackparade hopefully that helps man between the two tail plates the STL73 and STL89 in order to get it to fit.
Did you have any fitment issues with the housing contacting the light socket portion? Thanks for the videos!
I did not. You have to shave down the highest part of the plate area and it will fit. Other wise you need to get a base plate from 91 and up.
@@freebirdsgarage thanks for the response. I wanted to confirm with others before modifying my current one.

Dang I have the STL73 housing as well 🤬 I was wondering why mine isn’t fitting in….
It can be done just need to shave the sides until they fit correctly or a track down a newer style tail light assembly
Was wondering what load equalizers you use and how many are needed? Thanks

Thanks Jeremy I appreciate the support!! The module is programed to automatically flashes for 11 seconds or can be manually canceled at any time.
What’s the torque spec on a 91 Fxrs-con compensator nut
It depends on the year of the FXR
Are you able to add a tools and parts list in your bio?
Sure! I only left the load equalizer so I’ll add the others. Thanks for watching!
Did you have any clearance issues with the baseplate and the moons tail light?
I did not, it went on like it was OEM for me. Just check your gaskets and make sure the extra wire isn't bunching up.
I did to tried two fxr and both did not go all the way in
@@blackparade what did you do to make it fit ??
Rad bike. Cool channel
Thanks man! I appreciate that and thanks for watching!
