    This video has been a gift of god. I had no idea about the Schott 626VN, but like a miracle of Xmas, it somehow showed up in my feed. I recently purchased the 641HH & it has a great sheen to it, but was WAYYYY TOO STIFF. From my experience, all the double rider jackets from Schott were very thick. I was looking for more of a fashion piece. After 3 minutes of watching this video, I immediately placed my order for this jacket (the Schott flyer I got in the mail for 15% off was an added bonus). Love the fact that you can "snap" the bottom buckle. Also love the fact this jacket will be broken in from the get-go, no stars on the shoulders & a custom fit!!! This video has saved me a lot of hassles from returning other potential jackets. Also love the "fits like a glove", no break-in period & vintage leather!!!! Merry Christmas, my man :)

      Hey man, your comment made my day. Making this video took me a while so glad to hear it helped you out so much! 626VN really is an awesome jacket. Hope you're liking your new Schott as much as I do 😁

      Yes, sir indeed. I received my 626VN on New Year's Eve & wasn't sure what to think of it since the "vintaged" process definitely makes for a more "matte" appearance. I was used to the more shinier Schott jackets that I currently own (P665, 641HH & 530). So I decided to use my Schott coupon again before it expired @ 11 PM & ordered the original 626 in order to compare both jackets. The 626 came yesterday, and I'm in straight up OCD mode LMAO. Do I send the 626 back? Do I keep both the 626 & 626VN?
      Here's my little OCD comparison project:
      626VN:
      1. Slimmer fit (especially shorter sleeves which is better for me since I have short arms).
      2. Beautiful matte/but still rich cowhide leather.
      3. Zippers near wrists are surprisingly at the top of the wrists, which is great IMO, as opposed to the 626 being more behind the wrists.
      4. Overall fit is superior
      626:
      1. Has bi-swing back (which is more roomier when spreading arms apart).
      2. Finish of the cowhide isn't bad either, it's just different.
      3. Fit is definitely not as slim.
      In conclusion, I prefer all the features that the 626VN provides. It also somehow feels like a thicker leather (probably thanks to the "vintaging" process). The only benefit that I prefer from the 626 is the bi-swing panels. In your opinion, is it worth it to keep the 626 only for the purpose of having a bi-swing back?
      You rock btw, my man,
      Sincerely,
      Steve

    • @MensFashionFiles
      @MensFashionFiles  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevebs2001 Hey Steve,
      That’s a good strategy to get both jackets before your discount expired. Sounds like there’s a lot more features you prefer with the 626VN compared to the 626. In my opinion, the bi swing panels are great for comfort but if you’re not using the jacket for riding, then I don’t think it’s worth it to have it. And if it really bothers you, then I’ve heard that there are leather tailors out there that can install a bi swing panel on your jacket. The 626vn also has very soft leather so that may help with not needing the panels. Overall, I think the 626vn is a better choice for casual wear and not really worth it to keep the 626. Hope it helps and enjoy your 626vn man!
      Best,
      Nelson

      I did it!!!! Took the tags off the 626VN today & wore it out.
      You're right. I'm returning the 626. The 626VN is a dope jacket! Again, thanks for posting this informative video. If not, I would've settled for a 618 & it probably would've been broken in by next century lmao :)

    I have owned this jacket for years and I had a "bi-swing back" installed which made it much for comfortable. Also I had leather gussets installed in the wrists (in this particular model, when you unzip the wrists, there is no leather material). One of my favorite jackets, and yes definitely a slimmer fit than most other Schott jackets. Great video!

      @MensFashionFiles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you saved? If you died tonight would you go to heaven or hell?
      The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.
      1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
      And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

      Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; [15] And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. [16] For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
      Isaiah 9:6 KJV

      1 John 1:8-10 KJV
      If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

    A leather jacket MUST be broken in to the owner/wearer. There is no such thing as an off the shelf pre-broken in leather jacket unless it is a vintage used one that would be broken into the previous owners body size and shape.

    Hi thanks for this great video! Because of this video I want to buy this jacket! Can I ask you a few questions? I see this video is 2 years old are you still happy with the jacket? Just to double check with you, do you recommend to order a full size up? I'm 1.83m and approx. 83 kilo's and on the official Schott website the convertor recommended a size L. That's also my normal size with clothes (European size L) Do you think it's better to order the XL or go with the L? I of course want it to be fitted but still want to be able to move my arms 😁 I can pick one up on Ebay from the year 2015. Do you maybe know if the 2015 model is the exact same as the current one or did they change it a bit over the years? Sorry for all the questions 😅

That's a sweet jacket right there, i would like to say you can break in jackets yourself with oils and soap, a good layer of saddle soap and a good amount of water, cleaning the whole fresh jacket, will soften it considerably, same for oils and stuff. Not entirely sure but I know both are slim fits. I would think 626vn has slimmer sleeves because of the vintage coating process it goes through.

    Excellent man 618 vs 626 what your opinion

    • @MensFashionFiles
      @MensFashionFiles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question Niksa, I briefly talk about the 618 at the 1:30 mark. To summarize, 618 is made from steerhide while the 626 is cowhide. A brand new 618 jacket is extremely stiff and will take a while to break in but it is a better jacket for motorcycling.

  • @StuntmanDanHemi
    @StuntmanDanHemi 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    For a second i thought he said "vegan" jacket, i was like huh... from Schott?? 🤨 lol
    Also, I 100% agree with starting with cheap jackets, but i would not go with any faux leather, that's exactly what i did back in the day and they all started peeling from the neck, no matter the style, brand, price, usage, even the ones that were bearly worn peeled just by sitting in the closet and i take very good care of my clothes. So then i had a closet full of good looking, almost perfect conditions jackets that were unwearable just because of the neck, a lot of money wasted. I'd say find the cheapest real lether possible and start experimenting, now a days faux leather retails around the same price of real leather anyway lol, by the time you pull the trigger on a trophy piece like a Schott, you can still use the other cheap jackets as beaters lol

  • @AndresCuervoArt
    @AndresCuervoArt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You are right The 626vn it’s not a riding jacket... the 618 that you didn’t like it is, the 626 lacks the back gaussets and the arm footballs so riding in this jacket although softer because of the prebroken in process actually make it more uncomfortable to move and steer the bike the short sleeves are also a problem, the arm cuff zippers doesn’t have leather inside of them so when you close them it’s fashion but doesn’t block the wind air cold etc and finally the slim arms makes it uncomfortable to bend the arms.
    Probably the only biker thing this jacket has and the 618 doesn’t is the belt button to buckle and prevent the buckle to scratch the gas tank
    Actually cowhide is the softest next to goatskin and lamb, the stiffest leather is horsehide and steerhide.

    • @MensFashionFiles
      @MensFashionFiles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      interesting, I did not know that softer leather would make it more difficult to steer the bike. And glad you pointed that out, I always thought lambskin was the softest. Appreciate the correction.

    Hi! I am from Australia and biying schott jacket is a little hard for my sizing. I recently purchased the 519 small size slim fit as suggested to my height which is 5'3 weight 76 and chest 40 centimeter round. When I wore it it was tight on shoulder and cant even zip it. Returning it back will cost me lots. Luckily i manage to sell it here. I am now aiming at 626vn and was thingking of getting the medium size, but when u shown me the measurement for shoulder it was 16? And the 519 had 17 inches on shoulder for small. What size do u recomend?

    • @MensFashionFiles
      @MensFashionFiles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your weight is 76 kg and your chest is 40 cm? Based on your chest size, I would think a medium should fit you fine. My chest is 46 cm and it just barely fits me. What is your waist size? My waist is 76 cm and it's a little tight when I zip the jacket up.

Though your video montage at 8:03 when you multiplicate yourself showing three cutted vertical bands (LOL) with no fixed alignment and no fade at all tells clearly you're saving in post-production without sporting a good design. #handlethis 🤟😎
