- The town of Idyllwild is one of Southern California's premier mountain adventure destinations, offering a rich bounty of rock climbing crags, mountaineering peaks, and trails for hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The town is located in the rugged San Jacinto Mountains, just a couple of hours from Los Angeles and San Diego.
In this video, we head to Idyllwild for a few days to explore the quaint town and explore the mountains.

@@Outdoorsocal Yes, we did a little hike: started at the shell gas station, walked up to the nature center, and came down through one of their trails to the campground. Your guide helped us a lot!
Hello from Ouray, Colorado! Thank you for sharing your trip to Idyllwild with us! I have been there when on a work trip to Palm Springs. And my wife came with on my last work trip, so I took here there this time. Ha.,,the only problem was we live in the mountains of Colorado, so we weren’t wanting the snows of Idyllwild hehehe. So, we did a quick walking trip around town….and got out of there to get down to the warm dessert as fast as possible! We look forward to a more summer-ish visit.

Not a parking pass. But you might need a trail permit, depending on what trail you do.
