Alex, this one of the most informative videos on this topic. I used the Ping grip chart and directions, and found out that I should have standard grips. All my irons had mid-size grips, and I was struggling to get the clubs into my fingers like your other videos talk about.
Had my local proshop change out all my grips, went to the range, and began hitting pure and further shots!
Thank you for all that you do as your training videos have been a huge help!

Excellent explanation. I have always used standard wrap and I too use a small glove. I'm 67 now and I went to a regular flex Ping iron with the Elevate shafts. they are soft in regular and with a standard grip it feels tiny and hard to hold on to. The Tour Velvet +4 grip is freaking amazing. I did a test with standard +4 and midsize +4 and the midsize was the winner. My ball striking and power were both better. By the way, the tour velvet is so much better than the wrap because the wrap slips when wet from rain or sweat. Love your work young dude, keep it up.

Great video. Just bought new irons two months ago. Grips felt great and clubs were amazing. Loving the feel of the new grips. Then got a wedge set from Costco and though I like the wedges, can’t stand the grips. Feel so small in my hands and uncomfortable for my arthritis. Just changed to the MCC Plus 4 Midsize. WOW!! The difference is so amazing. Probably changing out all of the new grips now.
And from your video, I can see that likely all of my grips on the irons are probably too small for me. I’ve watched many videos on grip sizing before but yours is just a better explanation, easier to understand and demonstrates better (to me at least) what a proper and more comfortable grip fit should be. Thanks again.

I use Winn Dry Tac Oversize. I am a senior and the comfort is why. I wear a cadet medium large glove, my hands are slightly large, but my finders are shorter. I selected the Winn Dry Tac due to the weight of the grip which is 50 grams. That is the same weight as most standard size grips so it does not change the swing weight of the club. As an example Lamkin Crossline Oversize grips weight 73 grams and that would change the swing weight of your club from D2 to C7.

Great video Alex, I needed new grips and switched to a larger grip, I wear a M-L glove. After replacing with the larger grips I found myself pushing the ball more right and in the summer with my right hand more sweaty I was not able to keep my right hand on the club. I just installed standard grips today and will be trying them over the weekend, I can definitely grip the club better.

I found that the dri tac grips really wore out fast. I needed larger grips so I ordered Alien pro wraps that wrap over any grip. Have been using them. I put two or three of these over my medium grips and they are just the right thickness. They hardly ever wear out and so cost-effective to replace. I have had the same for over a year and when I replace it, I only have to replace the top wrap not the one or two underneath. Very cost-effective and very comfortable. They don't slip in my hand. Perfect!

Alex another great video my friend!
Couple things. I watched a video of a club fitter that said "most" tour players with the exception of a few tend to use a standard size grip but w/ +4 reduce taper option or more + wraps under the right hand. Is that general statistic true?
Also if a player feels like they lose grip control (grip slightly slips or spins slightly in hands at top of swing) once they reach the top of the swing in anyway what would you attribute that symptom to mostly? If how they are gripping the club in their hands is correct, and the backswing is ok can the wrong grip size create this issue?

Ah huh, I suspected I needed larger grips especially after seeing Bryson's friggin cricket bat handles lol. Don't think I've ever seen a vid explain it like this though. Nice work. I know my hands are a bit bigger than the average and I wear an extra large glove. I don't have arthritis so much, a little bit, but what I do have is carpal tunnel like a mo fo and I thought it might help with that. If I play and practise too much like I have been the last few months my hands go numb as fuck when I'm sleeping and wake up aching like a bastard sometimes then my hands are like half numb the rest of the day. Got an appointment to see the surgeon in a few weeks so hopefully he can bloody sort it out so i can play more. I remember why I quit playing golf for like 10 years now. I thought it was my knackered back but it was fucked up hands. They had to wait until I bought a new set of M6's to remind me though lol. They don't say what size, but I suspect they're standards. Anyway, looks like it might be time to go see the man at the pro shop.
