Thank you, it did push me to the right side of the fence. lol It's on it's way as I write. I did sub, liked and alarmed so I don't miss any of your other fabulous videos. I got the Sidekick first because I never did this before. So if anyone asks you this question about it. Yes, it can cut vinyl. I had these tiny pieces left over from another project and thought what the heck, gave it a try and printed out a few pieces to store these designs for later use. It is incredibly small and finding dies that fit without paying a fortune is it's only drawback.

Don't laugh, but while I do have the Foldaway, I love the look of the standard big shot (and I have a new one of those too because I always buy the Limited Editions) the best. I find the shape so appealing and the fact that the platform is static, it's a delight to share my desk with so I can cut a die whenever the whim takes me. Even now that I have the Switch Plus, I still have my Grey and Rose Gold Limited Ed on my desk. I'm a bit of a nutter when it comes to my Big Shots. Thanks so much for your reviews, I always thorough enjoy them, and even though I've been crafting since the early 90s, I can still find things to learn (and yes, I even had the old red presser die cutter from the early 2000s). 🌻🌼
as a newbie, the foldaway would be perfect for me -- I think. I travel in my RV, so space is a concern. You said what you could do on the Big Shot you can do on the Foldaway. However, I saw a comment somewhere that said you can't use the precision plate on the foldaway and it was a big deal. I really don't know what that means. But....do want to check if that is true. thanks. great video for helping me decide which machine to ask Santa for.
Hi Marian, the reason you shouldn’t use the precision plate with the Foldaway is because the Foldaway (and Big Shot Plus) already have a greater pressure than the standard Big Shot so you don’t really need it.

I have a Foldaway. Today I tried cutting a new intricate die every way I could think of but my Bigshot wasn't having it. I remembered my Foldaway and it worked fabulously. I was about to return my die😊

I'm still struggling with which machine to buy. I'm in between the Spellbinders Platinum 6 and this foldaway Big Shot version. I want a manual, and would like one that can cut into heavy cardstock, sometimes I use 100 lb. cardstock. I like intricate dies, and would also want to use the embossing folders for backgrounds. Help!
Is the sizzix magnetic platform compatible with the sizzix foldaway?
Hi I am looking to get a die cutting/embossing machine, primarily for embossing metal foils and possibly soft metal blanks. Can I do this with the Foldaway or should I purchase the standard big shot. It is something I want to use for textures for enamelling. Thanks Eve
The Foldaway and standard Big Shot have the same size platform and work in the same way, so either would work for embossing.
Can I use 3d embossing folders on the foldaway please?
Yes you can, the foldaway is just the same as the standard Big Shot.
I didn’t understand what you said NOT to use with the fold away. I recently purchased the fold away and I sure don’t want to hurt it. So what was you saying to not use?
Sizzix don't recommend using a chrome precision base plate with the Foldaway or Big Shot Plus, purely because those two machines have slightly more pressure than the standard Big Shot.
whatever happened to the electric Big Shot??
It’s still available. There are two options for electric - The Express (6 inch platform) or Big Shot Plus Switch which is 9 inches (A4)
