It should be about a global fight, it's all about women's equality of opportunity after all thats what feminism was about. The battles are different all over the globe. It' s heartbreaking to see what is happening to women around the world, young girls desperate for an education or for the freedom to express themselves, to not be sold or married off to older men, the list is far too long to mention everything. Whilst not life threatening or traumatising we women in he UK and many other western democracies, are fighting to just maintain and retain what we fought for and won, but those are the very things that are being eroded on a daily basis by men pretending to be women, and also the scary rise in sexual and violent offences carried out against women, the world seems to be going backwards. There is still a monumental hill to climb and today is still very much needed we just need to refocus and re channel our efforts and priorities.

@@keithcomminsYou’ll get it if you pick up a history book. There’s lots of countries that allowed women’s rights that was only from under 100 years ago depending on the country. History shouldn’t repeat itself, that’s why we have international days for anyone who was discriminated against, whether it be gender, race, sexuality or ethnicity.
I’ve only ever seen men’s international day being brought up at march 8th, at the day of international women’s day. Which is funny, I don’t get how people don’t have the ability to just wish a good day to the one having an international day. But most people today, are too self-centered and feel superior to even consider that. It’s like bringing up your own birthday on someone else’s.
But if you just wish someone a good day on their international day, and then you’ll receive that back when it’s your day - because it’s better to not act like the world revolves around you.

    • @keithcommins
      @keithcommins 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@marthe18luck Right, so let me get this straight - IWD exists because some time in the past, there was "discrimination" and therefore because of this there needs to be a special day, forever? For just one gender (and NOT the other?)
Have i gotten that correct? If this is correct, will this time span ever expire then?
*But most people today, are too self-centered and feel superior to even consider that. It’s like bringing up your own birthday on someone else’s*
So you have the nerve to call others "self centered" when you get a day (for no real reason) to celebrate your gender, but if I ask why none exists for men, I am apparently "self centered?"
      Are you serious?
*But if you just wish someone a good day on their international day, and then you’ll receive that back when it’s your day - because it’s better to not act like the world revolves around you*
Why should I do that when you have absolutely NO intention of doing the same for me?
Did you care about Mens' Day (farcical as it is?) Did you wish all the men in your life a "Happy Men's Day" on the 19th November?
I guarantee you couldnt care less. Why should I "wish you a good day", in that case?
Youre not special because you are a woman and NO woman deserves a day just because she is a woman. No more than I do because I am a man.
You think men dont notice how there is blatant bias in favour of women like this? Not think that might cause even a small bit of resentment? Which isnt good for anyone?

You know the usual stuff; some screwdrivers, a hammer, pliers, that sort of thing.
Today I'm at her house putting up a toilet roll holder and reached for the tools.
The bag now contains three pairs of black rubber safety gloves, pink safety gloves, green safety gloves, two pairs of eye protectors, a packet of white facemasks, a packet of pink facemasks and an umbrella.

As for Feminism its a ideology pushed by the most privileged people on the planet (western women) lucky enough to live in a modern day society. The wage gap is a myth as hours worked wasn't brought into the calculations.

  • @shelleyphilcox4743

International Womens Day is a good thing as long as its priorities and focus are on serious issues for women across the world. Similarly I support International Mens Day, which doesnt get the same attention, even though boys and men also have particular struggles and problems of their own. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50, but there is almost no serious discussion to help men. Men are much more likely to be murdered, but there is little discussion or action on that either.
I think its a good idea to have international forums to discuss problems and endeavour to help make changes, and I think they should look at the serious priorities and not descend into navel gazing.

I've been with my firm for almost 20 years. I have all my GCSEs, 5 A levels and a degree. I have hit a perfect score on my appraisals for the past few years. I cant make manager.
Meanwhile, an internal intranet article was put up about a woman on maternity leave, saying how much of a surprise it was to get an email saying saying she was being made a Partner. All whilst being unproductive and actually costing the firm money.
This same firm has no issues virtue signaling that it is all about equality, whilst saying (without directly saying it) that it doesnt want to promote heterosexual, white males.
I'm a working class boy from a council estate. Somehow I'm being blamed and punished, made to watch women get better pay and promotions because they have boobs and a fanny.
My marriage broke down a few years back. My ex wife resented how much I worked for so little benefits to the family finances. She's now on benfits in a nice new 3 bed house and working part time. She was right. Women can do better than men on their own, one way or another.

We cannot solve the problems of the countries where women are repressed. We cannot make all countries change and become democracies. We, in Britain, can ensure that there is equality between the sexes - equal pay for same job etc etc and of course, if women want equality then they should pay their way when they go kn dates and not expect men to pay. Problem with some women is they are unfair but so are some men. Respect each other.
