George, great presentation. Thanks for demonstrating the utility of the patch panel. Great looking trailer setup. Thank you for Sharing. Paul - KC5CYY
Thank you to everyone for your nice comments.
Great video. We are in the process of building a mobile command vehicle from a surplus ambulance and got a lot of great information. Thanks Biff KG7UMO Sutherlin OR
Brilliant presentation, narration and images. I've saved it to my emcomm playlist.
I need to look up RG142.

Great presentation. One reason for using separate MPPT controllers is that each panel can have different illumination and each controller will do it's best. If you put them in series and one panel is shaded it affects both. It costs a bit more but you can get more power out depending on the situation and if you have them sort of randomly on the top of the trailer I would expect better performance in parallel like you have.
Hi Lawrence, that is an excellent point. Thank you. George
A comment to help boost the TH-cam algorithm!
Thanks!
Zafiropoulos? Greek decent? This is a very interesting setup! Having worked with Law Enforcement Comms back in the states one department had a custom Farber Comms command center built on a MCI coach. These busses are unbelievable. Also way beyond our Amature radio budget. Looking at getting a military HUMMV with a helmet top to outfit with all of my Comms gear. I noticed you are using a Motorola Mototrbo radio. Are you not limited to DMR ID’s with this radio compared to some of the name brand DMR radios that have more memory positions for individual ID's. Recently acquired an XTL5000 remote mount low split UHF radio. That will be going into my every day driver but not sure what the local group will go with for digital. Our analogue repeater is in for repair and they did place a DMR machine running here but waiting for the conventional repeater to get back from the shop. One of the main operators here was telling me they are thinking of going with Yaesu Fusion. Don’t know why but I have to wait to see what unfolds. In case they stick with DMR any recommended remote mount radios for DMR? New to digital. Was working with commercial radio and RCC back in the mid 80’s until I semi retired in 2006. Now living and sending you greetings from SV9 land in the Mediterranean.
Hello my Greek brother ! Remote mount DMR radio only a few come to mind: Motorola XPR-5550 as you can see here. Also the CSI radios sold by Connect Systems.
Excellent information. I am in the early stages of building a ham radio trailer and wondering if you take any special steps to secure the various components for traveling down bumpy roads. How are your computer monitors secured? Thanks!
The monitors are mounted to the wall with VESA mounts. Everything is bolted in place. The radios are on mobile brackets, the batteries are on the floor with wood strapping screwed in place to hold them tight, etc.
Things like folding tables, chairs, sun shade are held in place with industrial bungee cords. The 6 tool cases are held in position with a piece of metal closed hanger pipe.
Thank You for the video. Wes Larson KF7BWS, Marion County Oregon ARES/AUXCOM.
Thank you Wes.
