when i played this silly little game, the ending comment te dire adieu punched me in the gut and left me shocked for the whole night, i share a lot with ame and when she just got up and left, i realized "holy shit... what am i doing with my life?" and i finally got the motivation to change something about my life. it's still terrible but putting effort in bettering your life and acknowledging that effort yourself makes existence a lot more bearable... anyway, thanks for gracing us with this amazing video, arknights funny man ❤

amazing video yii, it is good to see a really detailed video about the game since other videos look very superficially about the game'd themes, it is really good, one of my favorites and I also did all achievements on it it was good you strongly mentioned about ame's past, I didnt put much thought about it and the event that increases your affection levels but it was a good observation about her(probably because of the brain rot I was having with grinding some final endings, but I really wasnt on the mood of rereading a lot of the same text the game was giving me outside of the events, my bad about it, now I saw I lost a very important info, but Im glad you got me covered) Bless 🙏
For a while now I've been following a couple artists who had been making and reposting stuff about NSO while it was still known as Needy Girl Overdose, unsure if it was a game, a series, an ARG or whatever else. A fair while ago I had gotten curious and went decided to poke around a little bit to see what it was about and got scared off upon seeing the Nympho ending and the overall uh...imagery on display at times, from my cursory look I had assumed the game was another case of the countless other VN/Dating Sim type games you've also made mention of throughout the video just with a unique/appealing visual style with all the pixel art and some shock value. I'm glad to see it wasn't just that and the fact it's something that's motivated you to not only branch out content wise but put together something this gratutious is a huge showing of how wrong I truly was. I also really appreciate now what exactly the story here is trying to do/say even if i don't have the same personal level of connection with the struggles Ame goes through as you likely do being a content creator and all. Even if this is a one off thing it's great seeing something like this from you and I personally would love to see more like it in the future if you decide to stick with it. It's great seeing your brand of comedy/editing still being present despite all the extra glitz and glamour from the assets/work Pepp, Wynx and Zaf put in to help with this. Also I cannot believe it was all in *le head* again, you can't do this to me!
I'll preface this by saying i've watched a bit of your Arknights content before but I have never been a super dedicated fan since I kind of dropped of Arknights in 2021, only checking out a update or two, Anyway, TL:DR: Amazing work man! I have been DYING for someone to do a deeper analysis of this game since i played it 3 months ago! I watched a few Vtubers play it but they all seem to gloss over the more deep thoughtful moments, Needy Streamer Overload quickly became my favorite game of all time to! it resonated with me on a deep level, I've had to talk two of my friends out of *Ahem... Taking their own lives* (Plz no block my comment yt) So a lot of what Ame says hits too close to home, I've heard the whole "Would people miss me if i was gone?" two times before IRL... The whole gamification of Ame's steaming life also resonated with me, since I used to be a VTuber (Under a different name ofc) streaming Arknights back in 2020 about 2 months after the game came out, and I remember treating my streams almost the same as Ame does, "Just one more day and I'll have streamed for 6 days in a row!" was the kind of things I said to myself, in the end I burnt myself out and felt awful and stressed dealing with school at the same time as well... I think Ame is the perfect personification of what too much internet E.G. Twitter, TikTok and 4Chan, does to someone who is already slightly unstable, while of course the game is way more extreme then what would happen in real life, that's what makes it really impactful and I think the two endings you chose to analyze in this video was the perfect ones! I also 100%'ed the game and Internet Overdoes as well as "Comment te dire adieu" really show off the most crazed, and the most positive sides of Ame, and if I had to pick another ending that hits hard, its Dark Angel I was left in shock after that... All in all, fantastic video Essay! I wouldn't mind seeing more of this type of content in the future! and soz of the long ramble, but I hope you'll read it!
i remember being recommended this game by a friend back when it first released, i played it a bit but stopped because it was clear that the game pushes you to not only become attached to Ame but also push the limits of all those meters to get all the endings driven mostly by morbid curiosity, which honestly just sounded like a really depressing experience and i really was not in the state of mind for it at the time this is a really good video, and it would be great to see more content like this in the future ❤ (amefumo when??)
This side of mental health is a very scary headspace for me, that I am only just distanced from myself. My sister lives in this mindset more than I have before, and since ive left it behind, it's been magnitudes more horrifying to see her deal with it. I'd only put myself through this dark place again if it meant I can help people through it themselves. But even without that, i hope i can help anyway.
This is not some psychology of even philosophy course and from this perspective this subject was really barely scratched from one simplified perspective. Many people and especially people in distress need help - it just can't be purely forced because it will make things even worse... And most of the time it's not a good sign when people who are in bad place mentally and/or can't think straight suddenly are trying to do big moves to "find themselves" -> first distance yourself from the problem, then get help, clear/fix your head a then you can even find out that you already knew yourself and don't need really to "find yourself" (you just need to drop the mask). And just to be clear I'm simply repeating what you can hear from people like Dr. K
After rewatching the video when you listen closely you can hear a lot of Arknights ost in the background. I noticed executor alter event theme, Jessica alter event music , did anyone else notice any other songs in the background. This was a great video and I really hope it does well Enough so we can get more video like this where yii goes beyond his comfort zone and opens up to the community

I was not expecting a random long-form commentary on a story driven anime content creation game, but you've definitely got my attention. Also sheesh with that opening, busting out peak SkillUp reviewing moods. It's easy to forget that beneath all the tripple bracketed text meme edits on Arknights, is a serious amount of editing talent that can easily be applied more journalistically. Keep your (floating?) head held high Yii ;)

ngl, the P-chan being all in le head, was the 1 that left me the most empty because i didnt quite understand what it truly mean , but your point of view truly gave me a new light to that ending, and now i kinda like the meaning behind that ending, that is to take the reins of your life with your own hand and to accomplish what you want or dream of. I did not expect one of the most genuine, best deep dive and explanation about this game and story to come from the man called Yii Arknights who is well known for kyaaaa and shitty tower defense anime titty guides (I love Arknights with my life it is one of if not my favorite game IP of all time my previous statement was a joke) ALSO HOLY SHIT YII USES TOUHOU MUSIC YOU ARE SO BASED
This is very unlike your previous videos. In length, subject matter, and style. And I enjoyed the entire thing. It was on my main monitor the entire time, you all did great with this video with fantastic editing and writing that was easy to follow. I felt like this was from a channel that's done long-form analysis videos for years that release a single video every 1-2 months. (There! This should counter-act about.... 0.67 negative comments in the current internet economy!)
This was a super good watch! I really appreciated Pepp's editing and Wynx's voiceover work, and the general flow of the script was solid throughout; it retains the humor and structure of your [much shorter] Arknights videos, while still managing to clock in at over an hour of runtime and be supremely well-paced and informative. Zafang did a great job with the thumbnail too; it really captures the spirit of the game without giving away too much. I would love to see more of this kind of video if/when you have the time and capability. I understand that this video exists primarily because NSO struck a chord with you, so you had a lot more to say about it and the drive TO say things about it, and that kind of circumstance can't really be forced or predicted. If this only ends up being a one-off thing, that's fine. It was an exceptionally good video and you should be proud of your work.
Glad you listed the music you used in this vid, it meshed so well that I almost didn't even notice how many tracks were playing. I only just noticed when I started hearing Touhou, but so glad you did since I love looking up what other music Touhou heads listen to.

Very neat video, glad you put it out because I probably never would've seen much about this game myself since I very much judged a book by it's cover, didn't think it'd be anything interesting. Everything gone over in it and from you is surprising and comforting to see. Someone else sharing these views is nice since I don't really talk to many people (I've only recently started existing on the internet after only looking at stuff for half my life, for better or worse.) Seeing others with internet brain rot be knowledgeable about "our" situation/relationship with the internet and how it affects mental health, as well as not viewing mental health as something that isn't strictly "you gotta be acting out" and can very much be a frog-in-boiling-water situation feels especially comforting. Holy Roblox Ame Fumo. Wasn't expecting a video essay on NSO from your channel but it certainly is welcomed. I played the game 4 months ago and after I finished it gave me that feeling thst you can't play anything else for a couple of days. Ame is a very well written character, can be charming and down right paranoic at times. Anyway, very good video, I really liked the presentation and the Chao scenes sprinkled in. Great work. And most of the time it's not a good sign when people who are in bad place mentally and/or can't think straight suddenly are trying to do big moves to "find themselves" -> first distance yourself from the problem, then get help, clear/fix your head a then you can even find out that you already knew yourself and don't need really to "find yourself" (you just need to drop the mask). And just to be clear I'm simply repeating what you can hear from people like Dr. K

After rewatching the video when you listen closely you can hear a lot of Arknights ost in the background. I noticed executor alter event theme, Jessica alter event music , did anyone else notice any other songs in the background.

I was not expecting a random long-form commentary on a story driven anime content creation game, but you've definitely got my attention. Also sheesh with that opening, busting out peak SkillUp reviewing moods. It's easy to forget that beneath all the tripple bracketed text meme edits on Arknights, is a serious amount of editing talent that can easily be applied more journalistically.

ngl, the P-chan being all in le head, was the 1 that left me the most empty because i didnt quite understand what it truly mean , but your point of view truly gave me a new light to that ending, and now i kinda like the meaning behind that ending, that is to take the reins of your life with your own hand and to accomplish what you want or dream of.

I did not expect one of the most genuine, best deep dive and explanation about this game and story to come from the man called Yii Arknights who is well known for kyaaaa and shitty tower defense anime titty guides (I love Arknights with my life it is one of if not my favorite game IP of all time my previous statement was a joke) ALSO HOLY SHIT YII USES TOUHOU MUSIC YOU ARE SO BASED
This is very unlike your previous videos. In length, subject matter, and style.
And I enjoyed the entire thing. It was on my main monitor the entire time, you all did great with this video with fantastic editing and writing that was easy to follow. I felt like this was from a channel that's done long-form analysis videos for years that release a single video every 1-2 months.
(There! This should counter-act about.... 0.67 negative comments in the current internet economy!)

This was a super good watch! I really appreciated Pepp's editing and Wynx's voiceover work, and the general flow of the script was solid throughout; it retains the humor and structure of your [much shorter] Arknights videos, while still managing to clock in at over an hour of runtime and be supremely well-paced and informative. Zafang did a great job with the thumbnail too; it really captures the spirit of the game without giving away too much.
I would love to see more of this kind of video if/when you have the time and capability. I understand that this video exists primarily because NSO struck a chord with you, so you had a lot more to say about it and the drive TO say things about it, and that kind of circumstance can't really be forced or predicted. If this only ends up being a one-off thing, that's fine. It was an exceptionally good video and you should be proud of your work.

Very neat video, glad you put it out because I probably never would've seen much about this game myself since I very much judged a book by it's cover, didn't think it'd be anything interesting. Everything gone over in it and from you is surprising and comforting to see. Someone else sharing these views is nice since I don't really talk to many people (I've only recently started existing on the internet after only looking at stuff for half my life, for better or worse.) Seeing others with internet brain rot be knowledgeable about "our" situation/relationship with the internet and how it affects mental health, as well as not viewing mental health as something that isn't strictly "you gotta be acting out" and can very much be a frog-in-boiling-water situation feels especially comforting. Holy Roblox Ame Fumo. Wasn't expecting a video essay on NSO from your channel but it certainly is welcomed.
I played the game 4 months ago and after I finished it gave me that feeling thst you can't play anything else for a couple of days. Ame is a very well written character, can be charming and down right paranoic at times.
Anyway, very good video, I really liked the presentation and the Chao scenes sprinkled in. Great work. And good luck in the future if you plan to do any more video essays that aren't about AK. (I'll 100% watch)
