- CK3, much like EU4, lets you form soem pretty cool nations. Today, we form the German Empire... not the Kingdom of Germany in CK3 mind you. Using raids and out tribal almost horde government type, we manically rush with the opposite of playing tall using Otto von Bismark to unite Germany at the cost of the Holy Roman Empire! A really fun CK3 challenge that I'd highly recommend!

Historically Bismark was great at diplomacy and administration. The wars were won partly thanks to Prussian military being good and partly thanks to his diplomacy, his military knowledge wasn't shown to be that good (although I can't say he was bad either, he just wasn't a general of an army who he delegated a most tasks to)

He was a renown fencer iirc, which would translate to high martial skill in the game I suppose

Prussia had the only full time General Staff in the world, that was tasked to make war plans during peace time.
He (Bismarck) is possibly one, if not one the most genius state builder and diplomat in our history.
The war against Denmark in 1864, War against Austria in 1866 and France in 1870-1871 is a show of his brilliance. Never the "aggressor" to avoid foreing interference to stop Prussian progress as a power, but at the same time the master to "provoke" the wars from behind the scenes. Made Germany in a 7 year period, with brilliant political maneuvers. Also a massive shout out to Helmut von Moltke (The Older) for creating "modern" war. Telegram to communicate faster and better, trains to deploy troops and not using massive armies in lines to do battle.
Prussia had the tools and guts to become a global power.

8:10 in the future you should try to delay ending invasions as long as possible to occupy as much land as possible, cuz you gain direct control of any lands you occupy.
This means you won't end up with vassals of the wrong culture and religion, and you can also take land outside of the de jure kingdom.
You used to be able to take over like the whole HRE/ERE but now the war automatically ends after a few months at 100%

This is also why you should beeline to any valuable counties outside of the De Jure Kingdom immediately in an invasion war.

@@TheSocialStreamers after every war, I just need a pause to stabilize the realm. I justify the pause as in real life Kings have counselors and advisors and administrators to help with stabilization.
And that in real life a day last longer than 10 seconds.
@Comfy_Mafia when you make a duchy you can then give the duchy title to another person. Then you give them the counties under that. That allows you to have more land with less vessels.

With a mistake. Prussians isn't the people who formed Kingdom of Prussia. Also the kingdom which haves Prussia as de jure isn't in the de jure of Germania because of this.

This is different Prussia than "German Prussia" years later. Before Teutonic Order there were Baltic Prussians and Jadźwings (Jaćwingowie). So yea.. you made Baltic Reich :D

Playing CK3 with the EU4 mindset is how you get bored

My strategy for avoiding collapse during succession is as follows:
-Ensure you have a strong set of personal holdings, since this is where you/ your heir get most of their money and troops. (And as far as men at arms go, money IS troops).
-Beyond your personal holdings, which can be anywhere and in any kingdom, keep only your capital duchy and your capital kingdom. Every other duchy or kingdom you get, give to somebody. You don't need them, particularly if you have a good set of personal holdings.
-Give each eligible heir that isn't your player heir a single duchy somewhere. I can be a small duchy, a partially controlled duchy, or a crap duchy, as long as they have a duchy their inheritance requirements will be met. You only have 1 kingdom, so it can't be split, and you only have 1 duchy, which also can't be split, so it would try and split your counties (personal holdings) but if you give your heirs duchies somewhere, it will skip that and all the counties will go down to your primary heir.
-If you can do all this before you die, when you die your heir gets your empire if you have one, your capital kingdom, your capital duchy, and all your holdings, and will therefore be rich and strong enough to hold on to it. No murder, no disinheriting.
There are a few other issues such as with confederate partition creating and splitting off kingdoms if they could be founded, but that's another topic.
It's good to keep in mind that disinheriting all but 1 son is a much more rebellion proof way ensuring your kingdom stands united, at least if you can spare the dynasty points & prestige

Wow, I actually did this once just for fun. I called it: reverse Prussian unification of Germany - because historically first Germany (german holy order coming from HRE) conquered Prussia assimilated it and then couple centuries later Prussia unified Germany. This time I was gonna conquer Germany as Prussia while staying Vidilist and keep baltic language and heritage. It wasn't easy - much like you I was struggling with factions most time. Tip if you're gonna do it: what you wanna do is conquer some kingdoms on east - White Ruthenia, Estonia, Novgorod etc. and let them split away on succession. If you can keep head of dynasty title, you have a permanent allies that you can call in any of your wars - a lot of these territories is held by small counts or dukes and as such can be easy to conquer and you can also reform Vidilist religion while you're at it, since you're gonna need to hold some of those holy sites and making your religion pluralist might help you to not get factions populists rising constantly.

That list of names @ 1:37 is so far off, it's crazy. I don't know a sangle German person named Archie or Baldwin, therefore it didn't surprise me, that examples are an American comic and the last name of an/two American actors.
Armin is kind of okay, since it's referencing Arminius, an Cherusician chief, widely referenced in the late 19th century to establish the sense of a German culture. However it would be Herman(n) in most German sources.
Christoph and Fredrick are kind of okay, however you'd find Christian and Friedrich (or Fritz for short) much more often.
Hans is another short form, which is somewhat seen as an old persons name. Long forms would be Johann or Johannes, both being seen as more modern for some Reason.
As a traditionally Christian country other common names are taken from the Bible as well: e.g Matthias, Jakob, Jonas, Michael, Markus, Benjamin, Lukas and many more.
On top of that there are a couple of names of Roman origin like Maximilian, Ludwig and Julian.
