Established in 2019 by Tremaine Emory, a former employee of Marc Jacobs, Denim Tears uses creative design and modern fashion to tell stories of the African Diaspora. Denim Tears has established itself as an undisputed pioneer in fashion, art, and design by fusing modernity with heritage inspiration. This collaborative embroidered Tote Bag honors African American heritage with the design Tremaine Emory refers to as "a talisman for Black people" and "a call to return back to what built this country." It features the moving Denim Tears cotton wreath.
Up until recently, Tremaine Emory, a designer and creative director, worked at Supreme. We discuss what transpired, his reasons for leaving.
The problems that come up are numerous, but what Tremaine Emory (Founder, Denim Tears) has endured over the last few years is a very different matter. His highly visible exit from his position as Creative Director of Supreme, taught him valuable lessons that even those who are just starting out may apply.
