How This Designer Built a Unique Brand Without Following the Pack
#stoneisland #streetwearbrand #hypebeast
Stone Island was designed by Massimo Osti, whose influence continues to shape its current state. It was he who introduced us to reflective jackets, heat-reactive jackets that change color, weather-protective jackets lined with polyurethane, reversible jackets, and dual-layer jackets with detachable linings.
Many would argue that Stone Island was ideal for "casual Culture," which was essentially the best of its period. However, you have this well-known patch that lets people know you mess with Stone Island . Eventually, this led to Stoney being discovered in inner cities and associated with the gritty scene, with THA PATCH now serving as a symbol of unadulterated masculine strength.
Without content, you ultimately cannot develop your brand or win people over. They’re renowned for pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation in their military designed garments for decades
They help us advance and are always trying to improve with textiles that reflect heat. A love of the water and a commitment to ongoing exploration were symbolized by the compass.
It was inspired by the uniforms worn by the navy.
Osti has a military and workwear obsession. Given Osti's considerable experimentation with sea elements on his fabrics, the brand name was inspired by Joseph Conrad's writings, where the terms "stone" and "island" appear to have appeared repeatedly.

By far this has been my fave video of yours! As always your content is 🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate that! Always trying to bring fresh angles.
no way thats worth a billy, gotta be some money washing or something
I had a homecoming dress that changed colors , I still remember it. I'm 54. It would change all colors of blue and purple.
I'm pretty sure just like Massimo revolutionized fabric technology, your homecoming dress was ahead of its time, transforming colors and turning heads. Shout out to you Elizabeth!
Now we need a crash test
The key to success for any brand is who you're attached to. Champion will have to find a way to maintain relevance by connecting with the people. Their reverse weave is far superior to anything offered by Nike. Yet Nike costs more and sells better. Americans are very superficial. We buy image, not quality.
Damn, this is a dope idea.
I know the vision they had was dope man. I wanted to share it with you guys to help broaden concepts for your brand
@ thanks.
Always respected tf out of Massimo osti and how he experiments I used to spend hours on the website looking at videos of how the clothes were made
Respect the hustle. Massimo’s a legend, and he knows how to make those clothes really come alive.
DEFINITELY RESPECT HIS BLUE PRINT... INSPO, BEEN RECYCLING & UPCYCLING SINCE 2014
Inspo for real pushing all of us to think about how we can do better with what we wear and how we create.

In what world? Apparently this one, Banksy did all that too except for toys, I will say Banksy probably heard about Kaws and was no doubt influenced in some way.
people love wasting their money.
you need to work on your speaking its hard to understand
Just here to say that most of the time garments cost a lot due to overhead. When you buy a coated canvas product from LV it's not $400 because that's the "worth" but how else do you pay employees, rent for all your stores etc while turning a profit to make more stuff? I'm sure the same applies for Rhude you cannot grow a brand big enough by charging a tad over what it costs to make. Things are only worth what people will pay for them, or your brand just fails anyway. Not everything is worth the big ticket though AT ALL lol
Cute. Never heard of him b4 today.
I'm glad you were introduce to him Butch. By the way awesome name💯
It's a ho kart.
Thank you

this what i needed to see. i'm no web designer but last year i built my ecommerce from scratch and just did what I could with bare html/css knowledge. the site was as minimal as my skillset. as i learned more coding, everything slowly got more maximalist and now looking back i'm like damn what happened? design is about building around a core function, not using as many bells and whistles as possible. i'm definitely side eyeing my whole ux rn lmao..
Dope yaudi! I wish you the best in your UX journey. Do you have a portfolio of other designs you made?
His toys are cool but I’ll never support graffiti
Yeah I understand Charles some like it some don’t it’s cool appreciate you for watching 💯
As an artist and designer myself, please don't interpret KAWS' story as common. It's VERY difficult to do what he does without a financial boost, like a random millionaire that was at the right place and time to see ONE (ok, let's say 3) piece that makes them fall in love and want everything you do from then on. Making those designer figures isn't cheap and usually you would want to guarantee they're all sold before you even put a manufacturing order in. I say, keep on doing what you love, just keep your feet on the ground.
LOVE YOUR COMMENT!1
Everything from Taylor Swift to Campbell's soup has some element of right place right time or "luck" involved.

Cam has good prestation skills but doesn't fully understand how bad MLM scams are. I can help, contact me.
Something I don't understand is what about copyrights? I mean he's practically using other peoples ideas and changing it a small amount. Couldn't he get in trouble for that?
Great question! It’s a fine line KAWS walks, blending inspiration with his unique twist. It’s all about transformation and interpretation in art, which can sometimes skate close to legal boundaries but often remains within the realm of artistic expression and homage. Overall I was talking about the brand he created more so than his art. That's what I focus more on for the channel.
Feel like im watching a well established channel with millions of subs.
Appreciate this comment I’m trying my best to provide as much as value as I can at this stage
oh how smart, he made a died micky Mouse

Much love to you! Blessed to connect with y’all over a true talent on the rise. Thanks for tuning into his breakdown.
funny how there was never a rich black graf artist.
This is fire! Thank you for this story. It's very inspiring. Right now, I'm suicidal. But instead of commitng that final act, I've decided to create and turn my pain into art.
