- In this video I review how to setup overhead messages in Razor while playing different characters in UO Outlands. I'm a new player, but the tracking enemy overhead message has been a game changer for me. Saved countless gold and items by being able to escape early. For every Stealth/Thief out there looking for overhead messages I have the above suggestions.
Stealth ready: (for when you're ready to use the actual Stealth skill)
- text: You feel comfortable enough to begin stealthing.
- overhead: Stealth Ready
- hue: 688 (grey-blue)
Stealth ready to continue: (if you don't have a cooldown or need another notification)
- text: You feel ready to continue stealthing.
- overhead: Continue Stealth
- hue: 167 (green)
Stealth steps: (never run out of stealth steps again)
- text: stealth steps remaining.
- overhead: {3} steps
- hue: 48 (ocra)
Revealed message: (if you're hidden somewhere in a busy dungeon and can't figure out your greyish character shape has returned colored or not)
- text: You have been revealed
- overhead: - REVEALED -
- hue: 37 (red)
Feel free to adapt and customize to your own needs.
I personally removed the [ ] brakets from the text format on Razor.
Keep overhead text short!

Play around with {1} {2}....
For example for tracking, I use 'Tracking: {3} {4} {5}'
Void Aspect: '+ {3} {4}'
stance activated: '{1} {2} {3}'
I have for Overloaded, Discord duration, Hamstring duration till ready, taunt, disarm, boss bard imunne, to name a few.

Thanks for sharing this by the way, learn a new thing everyday. The tracking one has been awesome... updated mine to "Enemy near {3} {4} {5}" and distance one to "Enemy Near {4}"

The problem is when tracking a PK with more than 2 names heheh. But works well most the time :P

I didn’t learn this till after the video but you can use replacement variables too. Mining captcha video has an example, here is a snippet:

One thing I can't find is how you managed to show your overhead health %?
Thanks! You can toggle overhead health percent inside the classic client options. Alt-O, General Tab, under "Mobiles" section click Show HP. You can choose percentage and mode smart, always or less then 100%!

Here’s a twist, and hope you can help. I selected in Razor for my stealth steps to show above my head. When I am out of steps and waiting to stealth again I would like an overhead message to pop up that says “STEALTH NOW,” but now that I’ve had the steps show above my head I guess it doesn’t see them as system messages? Or maybe stealth steps and such never were system messages? Any idea how to handle this?
We can look at this on the next stream (Friday) - im currently training a thief so we can turn into a backstab mugger

hello, how did you manage to set up your UI. The health/mana/ stam bar and the inventory grid?

What is the preferred skill amount for tracking 100? Or less?
If you’re using it to watch for PKs - yes you will want 100. Guaranteed pickup early unless they are stealth. You can use 80 but just know it might not pick up the player on the first few ticks
Are those over head messages served anywhere on the disk that I can open and change outside razor or back up?
Found it.
yes they are saved in the razor profile xml files - look for "overheadmessages"
Example path:
E:\Games\Ultima Online Outlands\ClassicUO\Data\Plugins\Assistant\Profiles\jaseowns.xml

Im not that familiar with razor enhanced - this one is for Outlands - what server are you playing?
@@Jaseowns thanks for the reply, sorry Ive been away. I've been playing on UO Alive. UO Alive comes with enhanced razor. I was going to try and see if I can have both versions of razor running with one UO client. Enhanced razor has a lot of upsides but with it they gave up a lot of functionality and ease of use that razor had included.
Dumb question from a new player... Do other players see your overhead messages?
Overhead is just you, other plays would see “say” or “yell”
Whoa Whoa Whoa! YOURE DOING IT ALL WRONG.
You're suppose to plug your channel and beg for subs for the first five minutes before going any useful info.
