Welcome to Mississippi!! I hope you guys love it here as much as we do. We’re just down the road a few miles so please don’t hesitate to ask for help with anything Welcome home! ❤️
I hauled Vip & Exclusive relocations for the military, boeing etc. Depending on the carrier& weight of the estimated goods you are moving, you can contract the moving carrier & reque$t your house hold goods be a "VIP" Or an "Exclusive" move. This will dedicate the trailer to hauling ONLY your household goods. You could Lock the doors after they load the trailer and unlock the doors at delivery destination. In an exclusive move, the driver would be in Direct route to your delivery destination. This eliminates the need for the (driver)carrier to open the trailer doors on your shipment, eliminates the driver from loading another customers goods on the same trailer as yours. Lmk if I can help.
Best of luck with the move ! I'm sure you will find Mississippi very hospitable and as for the humidity, well that's a part of the deal. Make sure the ac at the new place is in good shape, you will need it !
High humidity without air conditioning is interesting. Take a shower and literally start sweating just drying off! And then there's moldy shoes. Green fuzzies on shoes is normal without some kinda dehumidifier at work. We used a plug-in product called "Damp Chaser" in our closets.
Congratulations on the new property in Mississippi ! ( Hope you look into Title insurance on your new property. Be safe, stay healthy, & God Bless everyone. Love the channel.
First off, no more crying. The farm you bought is going to be that home you all have wanted. You'll have so much room to expand your livestock and not to mention a great place to raise your daughter. Just pack and don't look back. So hit the road jack! Enjoy the next chapter in your life.... Wish it were me.
@@3MISSISSIPPI Yep its the people that make it the hardest. I still miss and think about people from 38 years ago. They will always live in your heart. And if you ever see them again, it will be like yesterday that you last seen them.
Not sure the tracker will work inside a truck trailer. Because of the metal. There are a few different kinds and I think apple might have one also. It's worth a try!
Make sure that the moving company is only taking your stuff. We had a company with our stuff, sale's person promised a one week delivery. Wish y'all the best of luck and God's blessings on your trip.
The tracker is a great idea. Truckers will run them in their trailers when they drop a trailer and it gets moved and they have to go find it. It works. Beware of the heat with the animals. We've been over 100 here in west TX for weeks. I guess all you can do is give them lot's of water?

It would be cool and very helpful if y'all could get someone in Mississippi to build y'all a makeshift chicken coop for your birds to hold them until y'all can build the one you want so that you can just take the birds with you. One of those chainlink 8 x10 by 6ft tall or larger dog kennels with a tarp over the top so the birds can't fly out, and put it under the back of the workshop would work fine. The 8 x 10 x 6ft tall are like $350, and then once you build your chicken coop you can use the dog kennel for other animals. I'm so happy for y'all, that is a nice place to plant your roots. So excited for you guys and your new journey. It’s funny you bring up humidity. When I was in San Diego they were complaining about the humidity. As a Missouri girl I can tell you that that was NOT humidity. I know you’re moved in now so you know what I mean. 🤣
We moved from California to the Midwest in the early 90's. They had the same problem then they have now with too many people leaving CA and not enough moving to CA where they always had a shortage of U-hauls. It was $6,000 to rent a U-haul one way. I said screw that. Let's just sell everything and we'll buy new furniture when we get there. It wasn't worth spending $6,000 to move it. There was an auction house in Santa Ana that would sell anything on consignment. They also would come out and buy estates and take everything and sell it at their auction. So I called them to see if they would be interested in buying everything. I figured if they offered at least $2,000 I would just take it. The guy came out and said he wouldn't be interested in buying everything. Didn't even make an offer. So I said we'll just have a garage sale and sell what we can. We ended up selling almost everything in one weekend and made $8,000 from it. We packed our personal belongings into a cargo van, packed up the 3 kids and a dog and off we went with $6,000 more than I was willing take for everything if the auction house was willing to buy it all for $2,000.
Apple Air Tags may or may not work inside the trailer. To find out if it will work, place a cell phone inside the trailer, close the doors up and then call the phone inside. If the phone doesn't ring and show a missed call, the tag may be shielded by the metal structure of the trailer. Fear not though, as you can stick the tag in an inconspicuous place on the outside of the trailer and it's good to go. Pack the dishes up. Use paper and plastic dishes for the remaining time. Pots and pans don't need a lot of protection and will fit in one box. Purchase or rent a shed for the new house to place the animals in. I know they have Tractor Supply, Southern States and farm feed stores that sell chicken electric fences. So Will and his wife are going to be joining you as new residents? See, you're making friends already. When I went looking for cargo trailers a few years back, a lot of manufacturers build in the south, as they get labor from the prisons. Greenville Texas is a hot spot for trailer builds.

Stop in Amarillo Tx and see the cadillac grave yard and eat a 72 oz steak! Stay away from shamrock TX at all costs to many missing children there. Arkansas is beautiful this is about where the humidity starts kicking in, and more trees start showing up. And of course Mississippi home sweet home, u guys make it fun! Love u guys be safe!
I hate to tell ya but, though you might be getting a taste of humidity, NOTHING prepares you for the humidity of the South! LOL BUT, to acclimate, drink LOTS of local water, room temp. No chill, no ice no nothing just plain local water. it will help you to acclimate. As for that tag, if you can get them , I would suggest several more than one on bigger items and place them in spots that would be hard to get to, much less find. Just in case.....Good luck in the coming weeks getting this done. You will, just a matter of time.

A large part of Mississippi is great to live in. I've lived in 8 states during my 65 years on Earth but most of it in Mississippi (mostly around Jackson, Ms. area). We recently moved to Tupelo, Ms. and love it. You might be surprised, regardless of what you read about it, how good Mississippi is to live in. Cost of living is low, people (for the most part) are more friendly and helpful than in most states, taxes are very reasonable, scenery is great (although no mountains), and plenty of work opportunities.

Good tips thank you 🙏

I don't get Mississippi at all!
