As my curve is the opposite, convex to the right, I think I need to do the opposite of what you are showing. So actually if I am facing you, I just mirror what you are doing.
nice! I am a yoga teacher who has managed my own scoliosis using what I learned after reading books on the Schroth Method (part of my research into yoga for scoliosis for my MS in Yoga Therapy degree). I incorporate mindfulness and the breath into my practice and teaching, using a cue to "breath into" the areas where one knows it's needed (like the concave areas, or places that feel "stuck"). One thing I do with "cat cow" is have students notice what happens when they shift their breath from "inhale round exhale arch" (which can tend to overemphasize the natural lumbar and thoracic curves) to "inhale arch exhale round" (which tends to LIMIT those natural curves and "open" the opposite sides). I love learning about other ways of adapting exercises that are related to yoga asanas so I can incorporate them into my classes...
I'm glad you liked it. I like to vary the breathing on all movements, as I think it is more like real life, we don't always breath out when we move or exert ourselves, so training our bodies to be be adaptable to have both options is key.
@@KarenMatas first, find a good teacher to learn the practice and then practice daily until you understand how it works for you. that good teacher can then refer you if necessary to a good training program or teacher who can teach you the next steps on your journey. this is the traditional way and the one I've followed for over 40 years. teaching first requires practice which leads to understanding.
Hello Ed. I run quite a bit and I believe I tend to favor my right side. In the last 3 weeks, I have had terrible pain in the right outside hip and lower right back only as to whenI lean to the right or bend forward that area hurts. I noticed looking in a mirror my right hip sticks out more than the left. Clearly I will need to get a scan but any ideas of stretches for this type of pain? I have went last week for a chiro adjustment with no relief. Thank you sir for your ideas
What does long side of the curve mean? If I have reverse s scoliosis and concave left side and convex right side, I do side plank on right side only? And farmer walk with db in left hand?
@@melissaharding you have two curves. This video is designed for people with one curve, C-curve. Have a look at my Scoliosis playlist for exercises for people who have S shape curves. Or contact me via edpaget.com and I can help you personally.
Thank you

Side plank only on convex side ? Or on both side ( c curve scoliosis) ?
@@ghalebabuarja2926 it depends what you’re trying to achieve. But if you want to strengthen the muscles on the convexity, then it should be down.
Is your right side my left side?
