Unleash a landside of lizards with the Primordial Starhost. Led by a Slann Starmaster who ensures that these cold-blooded servants enact the Great Plan, this force is a mix of hard-hitting units and nimble skinks, with a block of 10 Saurus Warriors flanked by three Kroxigor - who can also be built as Kroxigor Warspawned - and three Aggradon Lancers. They’re supported by the Hunters of Huanchi, a warband of chameleon skinks that pepper foes with poison darts and send terrawings to claw and peck.

This Seraphon box is undeniably a phenomenal deal for anyone looking to start a new Seraphon army. You're getting a great spread of models, and they're all the attractive new sculpts.
What leaves me cold is that this isn't a great deal for anyone who already purchased the army box that came out earlier this year. Like you said, people don't need multiple Slanns.
If the Slann had been a Stegadon or a Bastiladon instead? This would be one of the best boxes they've ever made.

Of it the Slann was replaced with something like the new Starseerer and an Astrolith or Scar vet on Aggradon.

I feel like this box is indeed a good box for starters. But if you want to make a competitive coalesced list you will need to buy some extra stuff

The Chaos one looks excellent for Warhammer the Old World
I got the army box so sadly this box is not aimed at me, however the vanguard box is a fantastic with this if you like some murdersaur
Bit off topic, but if i might make a suggestion for content Caleb, I'd like to see some strategy for scoring battle tactics. I am currently making thr transition from casual player to tournament player and while i can certainly take a Kroak list out and rain heavenly fire and destruction in everything, im having problems with the secondary game and am losing on points. Id love to see some advice on that if you have time

I know it's not very balanced list as it's mostly cavalry, but it's the meme I kinda want to run even if I would get wiped off the board easily or not.
For sure! Aggradons are great overall units!
I think I would add a Starseer to the list. Maybe kitbash one riding an Aggradon! The wizard is just VERY useful even in an Aggradon list. The Spells Heavenly Frenzy (run and charge), Hoarfrost, and Merciless Blizzard are all VERY clutch.

@@CalebHastings I was debating adding the Starpreist and the Saurus and Krox from the Vanguard only to add them since the Vanguard has the Carnosaur, but yeh adding a Starseer on an Aggradon could be fun! And it would still fit the idea

I want to like it, but i have the army box. I cant get behind having 2 Slann. Honestly inthinknif you have the army box, probably buying the vanguard box and then getting the Chameleon skinks and aggradons is actually a better deal.

Yeah or just skip the warcry. They usually are unpredictable units that'll only find a home in fangs or shoot lists in future.
Id say vanguard, astro and seer are* all mega good buys.
Or vanguard/sale and wait to see future box sets.
@jakea3950 I can see that reasoning. Vanguard will be my next Seraphon purchase in all likelihood cause that fills out what I'd want to take for a 1K army. Do that next year, and then perhaps the 2 characters, and at some point grab some Aggradons.

Hey Caleb, I recently started AoS and Seraphon and have been coming here for all my Seraphon info! I have the army set that came out plus the vanguard box and a scar vet on aggradon, would this be a good pickup even though i already have a slann?
Hmmm.... I can't think of any list that could utilize a second slann... But if you could sell off the slann, the rest of the box would fill out your stuff well!
As someone who's been looking to take a break from 40k and maybe get into AoS, this box is a perfect set.
Lizardmen are my favourite faction from TW: Warhammer and the new models look great. Easy choice.
Would the vanguard box be a good supplement as well? The box already has the extra kroxigors and warriors, could the oldblood + carnosaur work as well?

I really like a Stegadon in my Saurus armies right now. Helps score a battle tactic in the game that requires a Skink unit (the Stegadon has skinks on it) to capture an objective.
Hello, Caleb! Thank you for review. I want to ask, for new player what will be better deal - Battleforce or 2023 Seraphon Army Set? In my LGS Seraphon Army Set can be bought for about 130~~ USD, Battleforce stinn unavailable tho, so no info about it's pricing.
They pair really well together... but since the Battleforce is a limited time box set... get the Battleforce first! You can always supplement it with the Vanguard box later.

From there... reinforce the Aggradons... and you have 100 points left over for skinks or endless spells.
I got myself a hunter of huanci recently and If possible I want an army that can go starborne and koalt's claw ,so the question what box do you advise me to get?
Starborne, you will definitely need a box of Skinks. And some wizards! Kroak, Slann, Astrolith are all vital to a Starborne list also.

Hey everyone, looking for a bit of help. My son and I are taking the plunge to some casual AoS dadhammer.
I have the StD launch box and the Seraphon army box. I’m wondering where to go to build some fun casual armies for us to stomp each other with. Thinking going saurus/aggredon heavy for rule of cool.
How do I even start building two armies mostly balanced against each other?
Without overthinking it, you could probably grab the holiday boxes (or the Vanguard boxes) for each of these factions and have some solid ~1500 point forces to run against each other casually. The Seraphon will probably be a bit better than the S2D, but the dice and turn order will even most of that out while you're learning to play.
Yeah id say for sure the vanguards. Thise army boxes go nicely with them. For example, two slann is abit of a waste unless you want two for hobby. Maybe in the distant future but right now with their spells you wont want all those. For the slaves 15 chosen seems excessive, 10 is excellent as a reinforced unit has more survivability. Maybe if you really want 6x bulls but i feel they will be in plenty of future bundles.
Xmas boxes are more for people who missed out on army boxes or didn't want the battletome and data cards.
Plus its your cheaper option and keeps the points closer between you and your sons forces.
box is really nice to a totally new player but.... in my opinion is a dick move of gw, adding the same big and expensive model that u wont ever want more than 1 in this box when it was in the previous released armybox allready, with far higher discount and book cards etc. every seraphon player allready have it.
they could have added literally any hero in his place, to make this box great.
ill hard pass on it unless i get to sell the slan in second hand before the box release

Fully agree....that's asame since slann was already releaased on start set box....also competitive level the warcry warband is totally wothless!!! by this is the tricky GW marketing approcah
Dw upon thinking about it i think the box is abit of a trap. The warcry guys are random, sure they are filler but i wouldn't rely on warcry warbands. Then there is the 6 krox. These things are gonna be like sharks, in every box.
Think ill get the vanguard on sale and wait for future releases.
At first glance thought the box was great but now not sure. Warcry warband feels like filler and maybe usless later. 6 krox seems like too many. 6 aggs yeah but krox are gonna be the new sharks, you gonna see em in every box.
Plus for any army box two slann feels lke a waste. Haven't even seen the prices as battleforces are going up in price according to youtube.
Hard pass, ill get a Vanguard on sale and wait for smaller boxes.
