    Its a bit of a catch 22 really. Part of the charm of this channel and reason for its success is because you are relatable to the everyday man trying to do renovations etc. Once you start getting all this free stuff to make your life so much easier you start to lose the relatability and step in to the 'celebrity' sphere. Wish you well though and I dont blame you for trying out new kit for free!

    • @TheRestorationCouple

      Exactly. It's a fine balance to get right. On one hand we would love to do it all with no sponsors at all but on the other hand much of what we are doing would simply not be possible without, especially as we currently rely on TRC as our only income while doing the build. 😬

    • @__lancaster

      @@TheRestorationCouple Understand. The real aim of the game is to cultivate revenue streams outside of third party platforms like TH-cam. That will give you greater independence, better financial security and deeper connections etc. It's a bit of a hamster wheel TH-cam that semi forces you into compromises. Looking forward to the builds to come.

Check out tools & stuff channel and scott brown carpentry theyre both makita 👍 happy youve got help from companies like blacktrac and speedy, youre the best channel on here that does things without selling yourselves out just to get the freebies so keep up the good work 🍻

    These are fantastic machines, the Swiss Army knife of the front loaders with the manoeuvrability of a forklift and the adaptability of a tractor so ideal for the farm and material handling “I would go for the a7240 or a7750 with the 1500kg lift” remember when you extend the boom the lifting and operational ability drops dramatically. The only drawback to the machine is the lack of reach which you don’t get with a telehandler “to a degree” so lifting and placing roof trusses on a house or barn, or slates on the top flight of scaffolding would not be possible? The machines I would pick would be the larger tractor, the a7240 or a7750 and purchase a second hand tele-handler which you can sell after your development is completed. Keep up the good work.👍🚜

    Nice work Tim. While companies like this are supporting you, use the hell out of their demos, push them to their limits without being stupid. You'll learn a lot about your property's requirements, so when it comes to spending your own cash be in a much better place to invest wisely. A small machine like this I think Jo should be well suited to operating, you'll increase your workflow immensely if she is confident on it. Take care D

      But watch out they get tippy very quick once the forks are up all the way. The middle hinge bends and there's nothing you can do to stop that, it happens just too quickly.

  • @b0ned0me
    @b0ned0me 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    These kinds of machines are fantastic. If it’s possible to have a dedicated loader and a dedicated tractor it makes for a much better outfit than a loader ON a tractor which will always be a half-arsed compromise. It’s only the cost that forces people to end up with a great big awkwardly-manoeuvred heavy lump strapped above the steering axle of their tractor.
    The comments about terrain ability are kind of valid, but anyone with sense would only ever use one of these on flat hard surfaces and then put the load onto a transport box / tipper bucket / forks etc on the BACK of the tractor to move things in terrain. Let’s face it, a heavy load on a tractor front loader is dodgy as heck on rough ground as well

    I really love the consideration that goes into your sponsor or companies that you work with always really genuine and you have a purposeful use obviously a lot of work goes into making content but some channels fall into the trap of sponsorship and seem to have a different tool kit every year this is often a turnoff for me as it feels that we the consumer ultimately cover this cost in the product. Good to see you getting some tools that will speed your work up and insure you don't break yourselves.

  • @dougal8812

    I appreciate Blacktrac are gonna be giving you a discount, but you could just get a MF 550 or 575 and it'd be much cheaper in the long run (depending how much your discount with Blacktrac is) and it'd do everything you could reasonably want to do and more.
    (also the wheels can pretty much lock at close to 80 degrees so you can almost turn on the back wheels, especially as you can break the back wheels individually) (also they're not temperamental, they're indestructible) (also you'd have the ability to do all the stuff you're doing, and more)

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is no expectation or intention to buy it. Blacktrac simply offered it so we can see what it does and also give them real world feedback. I'm guessing when you're a busy dealer then you get little chance to put everything through it's paces yourself so fortunately the were kind enough to use us as their guineapigs! Pretty sure that there won't be budget for any like this until we have a house to live in! 😂. That said, an older larger tractor is something we may look at in the future for out on the fields.

    • @dougal8812
      @dougal8812 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheRestorationCouple Oh yeah absolutely, and don't take what I said as being critical; given the option to try it I'd absolutely give it a go as well, I mean it can't harm! I grew up on a riding school / livery yard ~50-60 acers, mainly horses but also some sheep, so a pretty similar smallish holding like you have now (even with a small brook and all) so sometimes I can't help but throw my 2 cents in given how similar our needs are/were.
      Anywho, have since moved away from the yard (though I still have to go back at the weekend to slave labour (mowing fields, fencing, hedge laying, etc, etc)) and have bought a house which I'm doing up DIY style which has been significantly inspired by your channel. So I just want to say, love what you're doing and keep it up!

    Great looking machine, though you can't really have a farm without a tractor for all the field jobs like cutting, spreading, etc - basically all the 3 point hitch jobs.
    Probably a choice between a loader plus small tractor, or a single larger tractor.

    • @TheRestorationCouple
      @TheRestorationCouple  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah there will always be a need for the tractor (or 2) 😂 but around the yards, buildings and construction side of things this is so much more suitable. 👍
