My admiration for you and Jo just grows with episodes like this, well done guys that was incredible teamwork 👏
Great teamwork, the monotony of big project task can be really tough, you guys just keep cracking on.
Good work both of you! sounds like getting one of those "portable mains battery banks" which are all over youtube might be a good shout, would let you run magdrill and other corded tools whereever you are on the farm, even up in the air!
That is likely to be a very expensive mistake, unfortunately. These portable 'power stations' are stupidly expensive and very unlikely to be able to deal with the starting currents drawn by corded drills. Besides, the use of 230V equipment on construction sites is NOT recommended for electrical safety reasons!
If corded tools are required, then they should be 110V and fed from a centre-tap earthed (CTE) transformer. Many construction sites these days won't even countenance 110V tools, insisting on battery-powered tools only unless corded is the only option (and then after a risk assessment and method statement from a competent person).
Do not apologize for your hat. It is spot on. Sun protection is very important. Yea the galvanic corrosion can be a big deal with three different types of metal. Stainless, Aluminum and Steel. Not good. I would changed that.
Awesome progress. Really enjoy being able to follow along. Looking forward to the next video!
What a beautiful baby bump
I spotted that too
I find it's worth sharpening bigger drill bits right out the box. They don't last much longer but they go through the steel much quicker. Then I give them a quick sharpen every few holes. Ever so easy to do on the big bits.
When I was an apprentice way back when, our instructor would grind the tip flat and make us regrind and hone a new cutting tip.
A new baby with this giant project. You guys are nutty. What's next, planning mission to Mars and usurping English crown.
You’ve been busy Tim!!! 😜
Galvanic corrosion is what you need research I think. Dissimilar metals, but I seem to recall you only get it with certain combinations
i drilled about 80 13mm holes through train track, what you need (if not a mag drill) is high cobalt bits. anything else is a waste of time. i used stroton bits from amazon, about 8 quid a piece and good for about 30 holes each. use a quick clamp on the back of your drill to make a mobile drill press. .... but yeah in hindsight just get a mag drill!
JCB makes a lovely little tracked hybrid skid steer with a telehandler arm works a treat… perhaps not for getting 30 feet into the air, but certainly excellent for all manner of digging/leveling/dumping/forklifting/man-basketing tasks.
If they haven't been to pick up the cherry picker after you off hired it, then feel free to carry on using it as most builders do...🤣
Mag drill is definitely the way forward, I think I'd rather be in the mewp than a basket on the forks.
Galvanic corrosion can occur if not matching fixings used. Also incidents of stress corrosion cracking on stainless steel fixings within swimming pools caused by the chlorine and heat.
Yeah that's as I thought, need. to swap them out this week I'll stick with the non stainless everywhere. and then continue with the special order paint for corrosive environments like the pool.
Good teamwork! All drills can be sharpened, but coated drills will obviously loose their coating. If you were nearer, I would sharpen them for you (West Devon). Cobalt drills will be better as others have said.😊👍
Thanks for the tips!
Come on guys, are there no subscribers that are plant mechanics that could come and get Tim's dumper working?
Get hold of the Professional struggler on TH-cam he's a diesel mechanic if anyone can fix it he can might be some swearing involved but you're Troy is best😂
I couldn't quite decide if it was a beard or dirt 😊
I think black would of been a good choice for the frame too. Industrial vibe
great progress
Nice teamwork with the gravel spreading and wacker plate, you guys thought about taking up curling? 1:36
Could you not get Chris Allen Professional Struggler to have a look at the dumper truck?? Not sure how far away he would be from you but a colab would be good? He’d have it up and running in no time
Cherry picker would have been a lot quicker and they are not that hard to drive. Great effort though 👏👏
Hi guys your making good progress 👋
Try the silver line cobalt drill bits a lot better priced than the Bosch and work just as well
You need some decent cobalt drill bits they should last way better
Stainless on steel - think you'll be fine for galvanic corrosion. Stainless on Aluminium ... you can see it bubbling under seawater :)
its comming on well done
I’m thinking worst case scenario, if person couldn’t for some reason operate the telehandler do you have a means to exit the basket. In other words a length of rope to climb down to the ground.
No. Would be a ladder rescue guess!
YOUR MAD WOW
The way Maggie looked at you "killed by the dog"... there was some intent in those eyes for sure!
Cool bananas 👍
You can sharpen the drill bits with a grinder
Will give that a go. 👍
Also you can get a drill sharpener .sharpening with a grinder will take a bit of practice
Isn't it great when you repair something for the first time, I'd be unbearable for weeks. Lol.
What happened to the roof? I was looking forward to seeing how they removed it.
Previous video, although was just a. timelapse as I left them to it.
@@TheRestorationCouple ah I must have missed it. I'll have another video to look forward to then. Thanks for reply 👍
What song is playing when you are painting the steels?
You need to wear a harness in those . It's law. The fines are huge.
Not the case from what I can see, HSE specifies harness only if leaning outside of the basket on a loader, which I had no intention of doing. 😬 Probably different with the cherry picker as that needs the harness to activate the controls.
Find the professional struggler on here he could fix the dumper
Buy a cheap grinder and sharpen your drills, it will pay over time
why a tele handler when you have a boom lift on site
It was sat ready to be collected and nothing to do with us, it was left from the asbestos removal/netting.
@@TheRestorationCouple oh ok
🫡👊
Does Jo have wind or are you planning to be six. Pleased for you both
Missed a few videos and then Jo gets pregnant 😃 are you guys mad with all that’s going on 😜🤔 but Congrats to you both 👩🍼👶🍼👏👍
Another baby on the way with all the madness in your life at the minute. You 2 must be mad. Fair do’s. 2 kids is enough.
In the 70's it would have been a JCB front bucket. So not much different to what youre doing i reckon.
Waffle mania ….! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just an FYI - be careful with loud noises and developing foetus > 20 weeks
Jo’s pregnant have I missed a video???
Tim, have you got Jo pregnant again ??
It was a joint effort.
@@TheRestorationCouple congratulations…again ! ;)
Please forgive me if I’m wrong ! But is Jo pregnant? . If I’m wrong I hold my head in shame , another great vid though ..by the way I wrote this at the beginning of the vid 🎉
👍 Previous video was the reveal. 😂
Tim, followed you for years and love your vids, but mate…..this one you were yapping on and on. Less talk more work
Sod off Gary 👍
