I’ve joined tracks maybe a dozen times and haven’t found a way I’m super happy with yet. Will definitely be giving this a try next time. Thanks for putting out such great content. We appreciate you buddy!
We always used a chain come-along... Bring the bottom end close and then using cribbing, hold the track in place, release the come-along and re-hook to the outsides of the track using a pair of short double hooked chair bridles... As long as the top end and the bottom end will meet on the idler, it's pretty much as you demonstrated in this video...
Cool to see stuff like that, I mostly work on farm equipment, excavators look like a whole different experience. Is there a Title difference between HD and Agricultural techs in NA? In Germany both fields are the same Job, so you gotta learn everything from every form of farm equipment to all types of construction equipment +everything to do with Diesel engines to pass you theorethical and practical tech exam.

Why did I always struggle with a chain 🤦♂️ Nice tip! Just the tip! 🤣🤷♂️✌
Nice tip! I was struggling in the sprocket by my self to get it in line.
Sweet I’m gonna try that next time
Dam all the years of using a chain come along lol
I use this technique. It was awesome.
Thinking outside the box is paramount, to be a good mechanic. 💪
Love watching cam, he's hilarious 😂
Awesome trick Cam. Going to have to remember that if I encounter that situation. Mostly I do rubber tracks on Bobcats.

Do you guys do it differently? How do you join track links?
Lots of swearing, Lots of sweat, plenty of swings from a sledge and jobs done. cant forget the help from another excavator aswell!

Wonderful
We chain jacks to suck em up, cut the eyes and smash out the pins and weld em back up lol
Keep the good work 👍💯
I don’t think I’ve witnessed that method before. I usually just use a couple track chains and a come along.
I used to use track chains till I found this method. Way easier I found and less rigging.
@@BluTechEquipment I'll be trying it out next time I've tracks to split, that's for sure. My crane is a bit wimpy though, but we shall see.
Cam, way to hack it…. Be safe.
how many track link pin in one excavator?
I think you mean a King link pin? Normally one of these per track.
