  • The nice folks at SUNGLIFE sent me two solar powered security cameras to test out. One in the city and one off grid at the cabin. This is not a paid review, just my experience with the cameras.
    I receive no money from SUNGLIFE or Amazon.

    yes, the local hotspot to view from your phone is nice, but you don't get to see if anyone was on your property till your phone is back in range of the camera, right? Version 2.0 of this ought to be able to connect to Verizon. Solar is nice since you don't need to worry about battery discharge as with a basic trailcam.

  • @Smiler7
    @Smiler7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can get security camera now 3g/4g that will work from the mobile phone signal.
    So as long as you have the coverage, you can view live from anywhere.

    do you need cell service or just a cell phone ?

  • @BS.-.-
    @BS.-.- 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    With no wifi at your cabin how is this different than a trail camera? If you have even marginal cell service at your cabin a cellular trail camera would work great.

    • @OntarioLakeside
      @OntarioLakeside  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You dont need to climb the tree to view the video! We haven't had any issues at the cabin and I dont feel the need for live monitoring.

  • @ellydavis2066
    @ellydavis2066 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So the cabin camera just records to the disk and once it's full you have to take the disk out and download the recorded video? How long until the disk is full?

    • @OntarioLakeside
      @OntarioLakeside  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The camera will record over past video when the card is full.

  • @dnhman

    Thanks for sharing. So do you connect with your wireless provider for off grid? What the monthly costs.? I have been using a cellular game camera to keep eye on my off grid cabin and have a monthly fee. Since we are not there during the winter months I have been using lithium AS batteries which seem to last till spring.

    Hey please answer! I’m about to buy one of those for my property I just got so no one steals my wood but I have questions, can you watch live without wifi? Or do you have to connect to the camera to view the saved footage after it records it? And no live?

    It says in the Amazon description it works with 2.4G does this mean it won't work with 4 and 5G?

  • @littlewingpilot
    @littlewingpilot 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So do you mean it will work without WiFi, or this camera needs WiFi, as you mentioned wifi a couple of times. Where I am in N.Ont, I have great cell service but I'm off grid too -so no wifi at the cabin. Here's a link to another security camera that works strictly on cell service. (4G I believe, not sure if it works on 3G) ….. for some reason the link won't paste so just search for videos on the Reolink Go, there are a few reviews on it. Thanks for the video, might check that camera out too. :-)

    • @OntarioLakeside
      @OntarioLakeside  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The camera can connect to a WiFi network and get alerts/view over the internet. If there is no WiFi you can still connect to your phone when within 50' and view the live or recorded images.

    • @OntarioLakeside
      @OntarioLakeside  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That shouldn't happen. As far as I know there should be 1 at the start and 1 mid roll ad.

      Ontario Lakeside Weird. I had 2 ads at the start and two breaks within the video, each with 2 ads, and there were 2 more ads at the end. Just seemed excessive, that’s all.
