At 12:00 you said capablanca includes this maneuver for whatever reason, but the reason is pretty clear, capablanca simply used a series of moves that would create the same position that his turn started on, but instead it is his opponents turn in that position. He forced a zungzwang if you will by taking a position he didn’t want to work with, and passing his turn to his opponent with a series of intricate forcing moves. What a genius.
I was also worried because of no video even when i am already a subscriber i visited the channel 3 times already just to be reassured Btw very nice game : )
Actually, I'm working my way through "Capablanca's Best Chess Endings" using Lichess' Stockfish analysis and often Capablanca finds better continuations on the longer and drawn out end games. Its pretty ridiculous. I think the computer often struggles to asses stale looking end games.
But he probably calculated it, correct? In this case your statement can be taken as sarcasm. Then again, Capablanca is lazy to calculate unnecessary moves. Taking that into consideration might mean your statement can be taken as a funny joke
Havana Knights , better title ever. The city of la Havana during the tweties was crowder with casinos. American visitors were flodding to Cuba well before the onset of Prohibition in 1920. In 1914 some 33,000 citizens flew in to the Paris of the Caribbean, a number that rapidly rose 44,000 by 1916 56,000 in 1920 and 90,000 by 192. Back them there was no Vegas city, nor L.A. This is a beautiful game and that tactical shot in the middle game should go in the disgusting engine line series. I analyzed this game using Lichess' Stockfish and its really difficult to find any critical mistakes from Lasker. It seems to me that Capablanca grinded down his opponent and converted very small advantages. For someone who didn't study openings Capablanca knew how to shut down his opponents starting from the opening. This is game #32 in "Capablanca's Best Chess Endings" which I'm reading at the moment. Cheers!
Antonio, I've seen all of your videos (literally all your chess videos) without even being an (excellent) subscriber (sorry 😁). Also never replied to a video before. I hope you still enjoy making the videos as much as I enjoy watching them. Lately I sense a slight change in your mood and everything is more hasty, almost like you don't feel that comfortable anymore. Could be for example due to extra pressure or so. Perhaps I'm wrong. Just be yourself, take your time for your content and also don't let yourself be guided through money. Having fun is more important imo. You were and still are the best bro!
2:32 I thought about a queen sacrifise.. knight takes on d5, and if rook captures queen there is inbetween move knight takes on e7 with check, and after king moves bishop recaptures the rook on c2. You get 2 pieces and rook for a queen.
I actually figured out what "Agadmator" means, to be honest am not 100% sure but it stands to reason that I have a pretty compelling case. Evidence being that I am an excellent subscriber and viewer
I believe the key to this game was that Capablanca created an isolated pawn for his opponent and played against it. This was Lasker's mistake, that he allowed it.
Feel free to pause the video here and see if you can come up with a move that two of the greatest players in the history of the game missed. No pressure.
2:43 I actually jumped out of my seat at predicting Bxf6. I'm rated 1150 on Chess.com lol. The reason I found it is because I have a hatred for isolated pawns
black King is in check so he has to move either the king or take with the knight, if he takes with the knight the game will end in a draw: Nxc3 Rxc3 if black pushes the past pawn: Rd3+ black has to move his king then white with Ke2, if black decides then to d1=Q the game will end i a draw; back to Nc3 if he moves the king white will win the Rook on a2
Hi please cover some games of PENTALA HARIKRISHNA, 2nd highest rated GM of India. His games are very less shown in TH-cam. Because of the lights of Vishwanath Anand we always forget this player who has been in top 20 in the world for a long time. It’s like we don’t remember the name of the person who landed second on the moon next to Neil Armstrong
90% of comments are about the change of room, you are all excellent observers. I am trying to follow the game, but can only think about the one move, "why did he move to the kitchen?". Will he admit that it was a waste of tempo and move back........
The Audio and video was excellent unless you wanted us all to hear the pieces as they were being moved. That sound was near absent. Other than that great!!
The audio can be improved. It looks nicer when you have better ilumination than the background. Hey hope you don't mind losing...chess will teach you how to be a good loser
Capa was king! Grinding those positions out. Capa was so patient, winning with the smallest of edges.
Must be a real heartbreaking moment for Lasker to finally resign the game for the second time.
