Honestly, this is the first Drawfee video I've watched and I can't tell if this is their normal format but it kind of seems like the person telling them what to draw has no friggin' clue what he's telling them to draw. He literally gives them the vaguest NON-description of the boss and throws in random bits of lore that sort of color the boss but at the same time says NOTHING about what the boss even is.
To make a comparison, it'd be like they got some random kid from Wyoming who's never left the country before to describe what the Taj Mahal looks like from a random piece of a brochure he found in the library waste bin to an architect and then have that architect sketch out a base plan based on the information.
However, if that is indeed the point of the video... they did fine considering they really didn't get much to work with.
Nathan's "relief" joke single-handedly convinced me to like the video. Nathan is best boy :^)

I love how Julia pulled out a Renaissance sculpture as inspiration because it's a really cool first idea, and because it would totally be the origin for a JRPG boss.
Sadly she was completely off on the time period, which was a bit shocking since it's one of Rodin's most famous works
@@jakubmakalowski6428 Still a great piece. I work at an art museum and we had some of the rough cuts from that piece in as part of a special exhibit on him, so even though the gates themselves weren't there, we got a good idea of them.
Still though I getcha. I had to go look up the specific years because that was like a century ago.
Aren't there literally Renaissance-sculpture-based bosses in the Final Fantasy games? I seem to remember there being a level where you have to fight La Pieta.

Fun Fact: Gunblades don't shoot bullets, they just blast explosions out of the barrel to make the sword swing REALLY, REALLY hard.
Also, these explosions are powered by soul energy, so the gunblade quite literally OPERATES ON "COOL ENERGY"
They come from the same place as gun lances from Monster Hunter.

i thnk the material of the blade store the energy, giving it sharpness and edge. and the explosion are with the swing of the sword. so maybe the energy overload the barrel, and when the blade touch something it distribute it as a an explosion localized.

So when the person says, "Oh, that's a relief" it means both "oh, I'm relieved you wont be making a huge sculpture" but also, "oh, it's exactly the thing I just said." Nathan's delivery and that no one saw it coming is what sold it for me.

On the topic of good JRPG boss monsters...
Please, please, take us back to the realm of Krys and draw bad JRPG boss monsters that have no thematic or logical link to the dungeon in which they are found (griffins underground, snakes in icy environments, etc.)!
I love how in final fantasy 4 there is an ice dungeon, and at the end it just throws a fire dragon at you, and you're all stocked up to fight ice and get super weirded out
One of these days I'll make a supercut titled "X Minutes Of Jacob Reacting To Nonsense Prompts". Bombus, Burgoo King, Grover, Burger Bear, Doris, and now the three stooges are definitely gonna be in it.
Gunblades, as with lots of things in FF, fall under the "it's literally called final fantasy, don't worry about it" category.
as SOON as the Good King Moggle Mog the 12th had been picked, the song INSTANTLY popped into my head and the ff14 fight xD
If no one already bought it up, I'm like 85% sure that the Gunblade works like this, when you swing the blade you pull the trigger as you strike, and it doesn't release a bullet but vibrates the blade to increase damage. I even think in the game you could press the trigger button while doing an attack to increase the damage done.
Gunblade fires what is essentially a blank cartridge. The barrel aligns with the spine of the blade and has a series of vents all down the trailing edge.
No projectile comes out when you pull the trigger, it's just a blast of hot exhaust gases. You trigger it during the attack to propel the blade along its swing faster, effectively hitting harder. Timing the trigger pull to the moment of impact to get the greatest effect from the boost in speed and force.
In parasite eve 2 one of the new game plus unlocks was a gunblade and it used shotgun shells. You could use it as a normal shotgun with less range, or as a normal sword, but the best method was to fire the shotgun at the same time as hitting an enemy with the blade for ludicrous amounts of damage. (Most shotgun bullets hit for 40-90 damage, while the blade hits for about 100. Combining to two hits for 1500-2500 which is enough damage to OHK all but a handful of bosses)
“Laragorn, curlax, and mobius the three dream stooges” is not something I ever expected to hear

d'awwww reading must be his focus currently, which i cool. I have autism myself and when i was his age i could count in spanish very well. My mom was taking Spanish for her college course and sometimes i'd have to sit in her classes but i was (too) well behaved, enjoyed learning other langues and could manage to speak them fluently.
cool thing about autism is, it doesn't effect ones IQ, just how we see, and interpret the world, and in some cases (like mine) makes our senses hyper sensitive. the down side being that it can be paired with other disabilities that can effect IQ.

You guys should draw your Boggarts! They're the things in Harry Potter that turn into your worst fear. But you can cast a spell on it that will turn it into something funny. Example: Ron was scared of spiders, but after the spell, the spider had rollerskates. I think it would be beautifully disastrous.
Julia's would probably be lips, Nathan's a tomato.... And I actually can't think of what Jacob's would be. Maybe a Nathan speaking in nothing but puns?

You had to ask so...
Squall's gunblade works so that by pressing the trigger, a small explosion pushes the blade forward (whilst keeping it still attached). This allows you to do more damage.
Lightning's gunblade works differently, being a sword with a gun barrel that actually shoots bullets.
Na, dude. The FFVIII gunblades didn't have any moving parts (other than the revolving magazine)... the blades were static. Instead, the shell detonation caused a concussive shockwave to travel through the weapon. Essentially, the weapon was forced to vibrate, increasing both the impact and the laceration caused by the blade (think of a knife cutting cheese vs one that's piping hot and vibrating).
i am extremely disappointed at the lack of Wonderwall jokes for Demon Wall.

The whole point of Squall's gunblade isn't to shoot bullets. It's to basically detonate the ammo shell's explosion at time of slashing his enemy.
It makes no freaking sense because you'd think that'd also hurt Squall himself!

The idea behind Squall’s gunblade, is that the gun part causes the blade to vibrate, which would work if it vibrated in a sawing motion, but real physics would make it wobble sideways.
