    One point to add. The Comgrow Honeycomb and the small Sculpfun Honeycomb are magnetic. The Dewallie is not.

    Great video again.
    There are much bigger honeycombs, like the ones they use for CO2 lasers. Like 90x60cm or even 120x90cm, etc.

      Awesome, thank you for letting me know. I’m not in the CO2 world at this time. This is great information

    Great information, when I use my honeycomb I have an air gap between the aluminium sheet and the honeycomb, this allows fumes to be extracted easily.

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s an excellent idea. I have shown that in several videos. There is a lot of smoke below the material.

      @@PawPawsWorkShop, only needs to be 5mm, but definitely helps plus if you see smoke coming from underneath its a fair indication that you've cut through.😀

    I got one of the 400x400mm beds from Comgrow, and I also got the Z1 engraver, the rotary, the smoke purifier and the air assist. The only item that was quality was the engraver. The air assist had bad soldering joints to the board on the rotary switch. The smoke purifier didn't perform as it was supposed to cause it didn't adjust the air flow when you turned to the 100 settings, and I had to fight Comgrow through PayPal to get any replacements or refunds. I also ordered the 400mm x 400mm honeycomb bed from Amazon and once again the quality was very poor. I opened up the box and the alignment of the waffle grid was so crooked, it was off more than an inch and there was no way to align anything let alone, keep it from distracting you while trying to keep your workpiece straight. There were aluminum shavings under the grid and in the tray underneath. The grid was falling out of the frame too. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I sent for a refund. All in all, the comgrow company in my humble opinion needs to step up their quality.

      Thank you for sharing this information. If you read some of my comments you realize that I am no long doing any videos with Comgrow. Although I have not experienced what you have experienced. They do not support the air purifier with all three filters.

    I recently bought one. It is great. What do you guys use for the fumes. I have this little scrubber fan but its not that great.

    What do you do with wood popping the honeycomb stores the fumes and ignites

    • @PawPawsWorkShop

      Raise up the honeycomb so that air passes underneath

    Why can't you just engrave on the aluminium plate directly? Why is spacing it above the plate necessary? Is it so that when the laser bounces back, and hits its source, it traveled long enough to become de-focused?

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s mainly for air circulation. You can pull the smoke out much easier if the smoke is not trapped in the grid. The aluminum plate is to prevent damage to the table surface. Even though the laser is out of focus at that point it will still cause damage to the table surface

      @@PawPawsWorkShop So the laser being damaged by itself is not a risk?

    So, the laser still cut through the honeycomb without the aluminium plate? Newbie here using Creality Falcon 5W

    • @davidorf3921
      @davidorf3921 ปีที่แล้ว

      The honeycomb is only about 20mm thick so yes without a plate it still can cut or at least burn things below it especially the higher watage lasers, best to have an aluminium plate under an LED laser, the aluminium has lots of thermal conductivity so should not get damaged. If using air assist with the laser its better to have an air gap between the honeycomb and the aluminium bottom plate for best performance

    What happened in your shop is companies sent you free products so you would sell them to the viewers

    • @PawPawsWorkShop

      There are literally 1000’s and 1000’s of TH-cam creators that review products everyday. Yes, I review products. If I do not like a product I don’t do the review. I’ve even sent stuff back and refused to do a review. I also do 100’s and 100’s of educational videos. Don’t forget that! I teach and it costs a lot of money to do these projects and produce the videos to help 1000’s of people. I do not apologize for doing reviews.

      @@PawPawsWorkShop your right your instructional videos are of value I used to enjoy most of them. Unfortunately now you do 90% “reviews” or infomercials. I’ve seen other great channels go down the same rabbit hole. Some are now gone & others just review anything sent to them saying it’s great even when it’s 💩. They sold their souls for some 💵. It’s your channel, it’s your $$, it’s your soul, do as you please. 🙏

      I will continue to do educational videos. I am finishing the last of the review videos that are already booked and then I am doing very few new reviews. I turn down tons of offers each day. It’s your choice if you wish to watch the videos. I welcome you but in the end it’s your choice. Many people appreciate the reviews.
