so glad im not the only autistic person that just couldnt get into the school. im 18 currently and have only been officially diagnosed for a couple months, and the only reason i was is because i brought it up. none of the doctors put the pieces together and thinking back it frustrates me and gets me upset. i couldve had a great school life/social life if i had been diagnosed earlier but when i was around 10 i had basically dropped out of school. it has been so long that i dont even remember what it was like and the worst part was is that everyone felt like they were blaming me for not knowing why i was like that and that sent me down a deep depression. ive lost every single one of friends and spent most of my high school years blaming myself and hating the way i was. im glad there are people that have similar experiences and feelings as me but i would never wish upon anyone to go through what i did. im currently trying to become more comfortable with myself and learning more about my autism though its not easy, i currently go to an alternative school and im loving getting back to learning new things❤️ i forgot how much i loved it. 😊 anyways thank you for the video.
Thanks for that Kate. As an undiagnosed Autistic person a lot of what you says resonates so much. I also have a Son who is diagnosed and is heading to secondary in Sep 25. I'm always looking for ways to support him , so thanks and please keep up the great work you do.
Thank you for commenting! Secondary school can be a big change but at least he is diagnosed! I wasn’t diagnosed until my last year of secondary school! At least if you know and teachers know everyone can try their best to help him 😊 best of luck to your son starting school!
