We are a many member body. Each part provides for the whole. We are one in Christ, his body and one in Spirit. AMEN.

I grew up in a Baptist church in Canada. No makeup was allowed. No dancing at weddings. Only singing directly from the hymnals. It was terrible for a young person. I appreciate the Southern Baptists because they inject so much passion into their worship. I'm no longer a member of the Baptist church, but I definitely appreciate the strength in their beliefs and convictions.

@Skarlett.Rose.Ink. I admire their passion in what they do in their service. I'm sorry you went through a tough time while being a Baptist, really stinks to hear about encounters with Pharristical legalism.

But though I have my reservations, I again want to emphasize that I really appreciate their efforts, their love of Christ, and their passion for spreading the Gospel. I acknowledge that not all Baptists are the same, and you can not make one swift judgment to the entire group, that would be foolish.

@@PastorZach99 Absolutely! I only speak to my personal experience, at the specific church that I grew up in. There was a lot of greed and hunger for power and rank in the church, and if you weren't from the right families you were often treated very differently. If their actions had been out of a belief that it was in line with scripture then I would understand their actions, but it was very much for the world, and for fleshly desires. It was very to sad to watch happen to otherwise good people. But we are all only human, and we are all prone to sin, so I love them all despite their actions, the church just wasn't for me, as I knew it wasn't good for my spiritual health. I had a lot of emotional and spiritual struggles as a teen and young adult, and instead of using God's word to help me they tended to berate and belittle based on their own set of church laws, without turning to, or having any basis in Scripture, so I knew I needed to separate myself from that specific church. My experience at that one specific church does not at all reflect on all Baptists, and in my experience the vast majority of Baptists just want to love Jesus and live a Godly life the way that's best for them. No matter what I love them all as we are commanded to do because we are all His children.

@SatchPersaud-sm1gc I believe in the Old Earth Theory personally, but theologically speaking, I don't believe it is a hill to die on personally.
Regardless of whether the Earth is 7,000 years old or 7 Billion years old, all that is important is that we sinned, we can't save ourselves, Christ came for us, died for us and rose again, and ascended into Heaven and one day we, the elect, will be with him in paradise forever and ever amen.

Whats there to disagree with? They literally practice what Jesus preaches. Yes, they're strict but considering other religions, I find baptist to be the most accurate.

@JonesyRiley I find some theological arguments they make to not really align with what scripture teaches (though I don't think this means they are outside of God's grace). That and the tendency to align with Anabaptist teachings. After doing some research on confessions and teachings of Anabaptist groups, I find trying to align with them to be really problematic.

@@PastorZach99 I understand ya. That's the reason why I don't agree with religion. The Bible is pretty cut and dry. Faith, salvation and baptism is what Jesus requires from us for us to meet our maker. Church is made up of 4 or more people(I think it starts with 4), it doesn't have to be a big building to be a family in Christ.

Salvation is by grace through faith so I agree with that. However baptism is not required for salvation. It is an act of obedience and it is a physical symbol of a spiritual state, but it is not a requirement of salvation.
