    A friends 14 yo daughter was recently paralyzed. She wanted to know if we all from PA talk like me so I told her to watch your videos.
    Her verdict is she can understand YOU, but I make up my own "language" as I go.
    On a personal note, I'd say you were more informative about the LT40 than Wood-Mizer.

    I for sure agree with all the praise you are getting and I will say you sure have the voice for it. There are several good presenters on youtube but very few,if any,who are better. I have one very minor observation,it's spelled board not bored,and one medium level complaint,the blurr effect is the most overused and unwelcome technique to my old person eyes these days. Now don't get me too far wrong,a good show is still good,it is just a little lessened by blurr effects because incidental/accidental blurr happens plenty already in most youtube vids. Well,that and the fact I've been seeing blurr effects used for about 3Xs your current lifespan in movies and such. Again,love your productions and presentation and I sure hope you and yours don't hate me now. :) Only trying to help.

    Just found your channel and love the content. I just ordered an lt40 standard, yesterday, with the 38hp engine, accuset 2, debarker, 2 extra side supports and the board return. The command control option was very tempting and only a $1605 upgrade, with my configuration, but it limits you to only being able to add a 6’ extension. After watching your videos and reading various threads on the Forestry Forum, I’m calling first thing Monday to add the lubemizer.

    I would say that number one on the list before even turning on the machine is to have the proper safety wear and equipment. Gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, no loose clothing that can get caught in moving parts. I would seriously consider having a pre-work job briefing with everyone involved. Things to be discussed, what we will be doing, who will be doing what, how we will do it, and how we can make the job safer and minimize risks. Other things are how to disable and lock out power supplies while performing maintenance on the machine. Lock out procedures should be discussed so no one turns on the power and tries to operate the machine when it is down. The saw should be locked out of the power supply while servicing and changing the blade, or machinery. Sure, I know, many people will say, oh that is going too far, anyone should know these commonsense items, but you would be surprised how many injury accidents occur because someone skipped or missed a very basic aspect of safety. Can you tell I am a retired railroad supervisor? When you set a goal for zero incidents or injuries, these are the types of things that are required. Hyper awareness and hyper communication. It would also be a good idea to set up and establish a way for ANYONE to stop the line if there is a question if there is a question of general operations or safety.

    The options pricing that you have described reminds me of how cars used to be sold when manufacturers wanted to advertise an apparently low price for what was called a basic model. Many of these options were actually almost essential to optimal, good, safe performance for the cars, and it sounds as if the pricing of this wood mill is much the same, where the two options you have listed as adding up to several thousands of dollars sound to be necessary integral features for optimal and even safe working of this mill.
    So how about your timber yard pricing its products in the much same way as this mill was priced. You could advertise board feet of wood in any dimensions required by customers but set at a price that refers to it in its original state as part of a trunk, bark and all. You could then have a priced option for cutting lengths, widths, and even depths, or for trimming the boards and so on, and none of these stupid sounding options could be regarded as false pricing based on the original offer.
    Sorry, but this optional sales crap really pisses me off, and I see many companies selling good products that shoot themselves in the foot because the sales team and/or company owners regard their customers as idiots.
    Car hire prices with insurance/tank/cleaning/mileage options is another example of this type of sales pitch, and I am amazed that these companies still attract customers when these smart-ass sales techniques are designed treat them as fools.
    Now, was there an option to buy a filler cap for the gas tank on this mill, or to have another colour, or perhaps metallic paint.

    • @jamesrussell6870
      @jamesrussell6870 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you debark your logs, you don't need to buy a debarker.. In my case, I drop the trees & can move them to the logging deck without them getting muddy or the bark impaled by gravel, so why would I want to pay for a debarker?
      Same with some other upgrades. Some people don't need all the bells & whistles..
