As a mythology nerd, this was one of my favorite Marvel movies, and I like how each Eternal is a reference to a different mythological figure.

Dane Whitman(Black Knight) and Sersi were romantically linked in the early 90s Avengers comics I read as a teenager so it's mind-blowing that that would be referenced in the MCU!

And you get Black Knight / Sersi before Doctor Doom.

The voice at the end that said "are you sure about that Mr Whitman? " was actor Mahershala Ali whose going to be playing BLADE in the MCU now!🤩🤩🤩

yeah especially the fight scene, in most movies/tv show they just run around and maybe throw a punch, they never full fight (mb cuz it's super expansive to make)

The pandemic, poor reviews and eye difficulties kept me from seeing this in theatres, much to my own regret. I watched it on Disney+ not expecting much and ended up LOVING it. I watched it 3 times in as many days. It was not like any other MCU film yet. It was moodier, more "earthy" in a way and took time to breath.

the voice at the post credit scene talking to Dane is none other than Blade, who's gonna be a major character in the MCU going forward. He's played by Mahershala Ali, but Storm you might recognize Blade because Wesley Snipes used to play him in the late 90-early 2000s

According to the comics, Thanos is really an Eternal; his twisted features and enhanced abilities are the result of “Deviant Syndrome,” which can randomly appear in Eternals as a mutated gene. That's why he looks different than his brother

    • @danielramsey6141
      @danielramsey6141 2 ปีที่แล้ว

It’s interesting that there is more than One-type of Eternal. Cause the ones we see are semi-bio organic machines while Thanos and Starfox are fully organic, but long-lived. Probably more than a 100 years or so.

In my personal opinion, I really enjoy this than some of the previous MCU movies. What I love about this movie is that it's more character driven than the usual MCU popcorn film. I'm glad you guys finally react to this film. Plus, Makkari is my favorite character in this movie.

I really liked ETERNALS, it was almost not a superhero film but about Gods and their creators. The cinematography, score, etc was on WB level of production in terms of quality - like recent films Dune, The Suicide Squad, Doctor Sleep, and of course DC films akin to Man of Steel, ZSJL, etc - but the pacing was a bit off between characters and their motivations, and lacked some character development but they do have a really good foundation and bunch of characters for a sequel, so I welcome ETERNALS 2. This is a film that felt more matured, focused on plot instead of packing in action, Gods essentially trying to be more human in their justification as to stop Tiamut, like the Gods of Olympus trying to stop Cronus from destroying Earth.
Zhao' direction was great for this kind of MCU film; but 500 critics give in 48% compared to 10000+ viewers whom gave it 78% on RT, fan and viewer reactions matter more, they always have. A bad review hardly stops me from seeing a film.

The character at the end credit scene was confirmed to be Mahershala Ali as Blade. He will teach JonSnow the way of the sword because he knows nothing. :D This is the mcu version of Blade, its not connected to the old Blade movies, so think of that as a different universe where Wesley Snipes played that character.

Thank you Storm, mom, and Kim for reacting to this film! I always love your guys' reaction + discussions at the end. You ladies always pick up on a lot and I appreciate it. :) Is the execution perfect in this movie? Far from it, but I enjoyed this ambitious film and am excited for what it seeded for the MCU going forward. I love how this movie is a love letter to humanity. That's why we jump as many centuries and locations as we do -- to display the beauty of the world and let that be its own argument for why the world is worth saving. Plus, the diversity of casting & characters (in race, gender, ability, age, mental wellness) is a true reflection of the world. I don't think it's Hollywood "wokeness", but integral to the Eternals' mission in protecting all of humanity. That golden dagger at the beginning of the film is an actual dagger in real-life history from The Royal Tombs of Ur, and there are many other historical Easter eggs in here for history buffs. Plus, I love the film's themes of evolution, storytelling (who is telling the story? Karun with his multiple cameras? Or with Sprite's illusions) and how lore gets integrated into pop culture, a la the Superman, Batman, and Star Wars shout outs here. How do we birth mythology? How does mythology change to fit our own narrative, i.e. - "Drop the A" it's Thena, not "Athena". Lots of layers to pick apart if you look into it....beyond its on-the-nose dialogue, bleh.

Hmmm, casting Kit Harington as Dane Whitman certainly has something to do with Jon Snow's affinity for wearing black, that much is certain. ;) Anyway, I'm really happy that more people are now willing to give this movie a chance. I really hope we'll see the Eternals again, either in their own movie or show or the way Marvel handled Hulk after his movie underperformed.

Thumb Up #292! 👍. Thanks for your fun and funny, digital video recording! 😎🖖
Notes! (Ahem.) Wow! Whoa! Tomorrow is, Saint Valentine's Day! ❤️ So soon! Well then, belated happy New Year, and all of the other holidays in, January, and now, February! 🎉🎊
About, "Blade"! Did you, Ladies Three, only see Wesley Snipes' first one, not his whole trilogy? If so, you should know that the movie trilogy was followed by a series that must have been on, cable/satellite, since I somehow missed out. But it had a different actor in the role. Then, Wesley Snipes, returned to the role in, "What We Do in the Dark", a mockumentary movie then series, as a member of a, Vampire Council. 😂🤣. The voice at the end of this movie, would count as the third live-action "Blade" actor. Though I've seen article headlines, about having, Wesley Snipes, too, as a part of their whole, Multiverse, effort. 🤔
They name dropped, Superman & Batman, confusing some people be into thinking of a shared planet. But, Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman", is a blood relative of, Lady Athena, Goddess of Wisdom & Defensive War. Those, Olympians, as we saw, are, Earthlings, that helped defend, Planet Earth, from an alien invasion!
    So they are not compatible!
Just for "eye candy" as they say, "Thena", is my favorite! 🥰😍🤩❤️
Sprite? Notice how they kept her from doing product endorsements for the beverage and the communication business? 🤔 🤣😂
(Unlike, "TDK", seen consuming a, "Mr. Pibb", in, "The Suicide Squad"!)
Thanks a lot too, for a very enjoyable reáction and review, that was not the least bit hostile! Yours is even better than the one done by, "Blind Wave"! 😎👍🖖
By the way, thanks to very many subtle crossovers, the "MCU", and the, "DCEU", are actually connected anyway, so their Multiverses, are actually the same one!
But wait! There's more! "NBC", used to have a medical drama series called, "Saint Elsewhere". During it's long run, it was crossover connected to so many other series and not just other "NBC" ones that were on at the time, including "Law & Order". That franchise is still producing new material, even bringing back the original title this television season.
Now hopefully, this isn't a spoiler, to mention the fictional character name, "Tommy Westphall", who was played by actor, Chad Allen, in the series, "Saint Elsewhere". The series finale for it, created what has become known as, "The Tommy Westphall Universe"! You should see that episode, to get the full impact of it, for yourselves. 😎👍🖖
PS: Oh yeah! Sprite's physical plight, would seem to be similar to that of, Kirsten Dunst's character in, "Interview with a Vampire", except that, Sprite, probably never kept a dead, green, woman with more obvious breasts, hidden in a drawer. 🤔
