I am listening to a unique new voice with this sonata. This is a fine composition and I certainly hope that more is forthcoming from your writing implements. Personally, I would like to hear what you would do with a string quartet and other chamber music, in addition to more piano works. Also, I enjoy music for pipe organ; your contemporary harmonies would fit nicely. Keep up the good work!
I love when piano composers investigate, create and melt different styles, and they don't try to "imitate" ancient composers like Chopin or Liszt with new "romantic" nocturnos or etudes. Music has to go ahead, not backwards , although we can look back to the past for inspiration (I do) and to choose new ideas for our compositions. There are thousands of posibilites to create interesting music and to avoid some random compositions of composers who think that can cheat us with stupid and pedantic atonal music without structure or without any musical sense at all.
I really don’t think there are any composers who inspire/sound like my music. Surprisingly, my favorite composers are Beethoven, Prokofiev, Liszt, etc. and I don’t really like the French impressionist composers. My compositional style started in a purely Classical style, and although I still can write in that style, I try to offer something new each time I compose, and this has sort of evolved into my own signature style. I couldn’t really tell you how it came to be.
@@bond-suits Now that you mention it, I do see the influence. I don’t particularly listen to him that much, however, I was fortunate to attend one of his last concerts before he passed away.
@@austinwgentry That's amazing you were able to see him perform. His Children's Songs album particularly comes to mind when I hear some of your piano music. That's a fantastic one to listen to for his solo piano compositions.

This music should enter the standard repertoire! Congratulation, I am glad to this music. You are the master!
Perfect balance between the expected and the unexpected. I couldn’t stop listening. Wonderful piece!
Very nice.
Love the jazz feel, and the harmony is wonderful.
Love this Austin. I'm both a Classical and Jazz pianist. I hear some Claude Bolling influences. Very nice. Charming
Great and mature piece! Well done!
This is incredible ❤️ you should be very proud of yourself for this
Very nice added harmony in the opening movement! I need to take my time to listen to this more thoroughly to speak something useful!! I enjoy it!

Il meglio nel finale
Capolavoro come la prima, qualche influenza di C.Norton.
Molto bella
First movement sounds like if Ravel and Debussy combined with more jazz
Kinda reminds me of Kapustin's later sonata's.
I love your music. Who inspires you? What's your background as a student of composition? Favourite composers? Favourite pieces? ❤❤❤❤

@@austinwgentry Do you listen to Chick Corea? I can hear a lot of similarities in your music.

Where the Scriabin have I heard the 5:31 and 5:35 chords before? In Scriabin's own Sonata No. 2? Nice piece.
