Disney technically didn’t copy kimba anyway for that matter, as the anime and its manga source material belong to Tezuka Productions. Kimba is indeed influenced by Othello in the second half.

YMS found differences in a series that ran for 52 episodes, plus multiple movies vs an adaption based around Hamlet and Kimba that was only 1 hour and 29 minutes long. The LK animators had Kimba merch in their office, the voice actor for Simba made a mistake and called Simba, Kimba instead, and the producer said they got inspiration from it. No one is saying it's an exact replica only that Kimba is one of their sources for Lion King. I watched that 2 hour plus video and most of it consisted of nitpicking but I find it strange because he went on for a long time everyone takes it as fact, he never watched the original Japanese adaption of Kimba and blatantly says he doesn't like it. It was a back and forth exchange mind you because Osamu Tezuka was inspired by western animation and Disney's Snow White. Basically what I'm trying to say is there's no such thing as an original idea.

I loved animation in the 1980s but however it almost reminds me of Disney until some animations of this gain a nightmare fuel. It got celebrity voices in that film but won’t get a good paycheck though.
One thing about this movie is how out of place the Emperor of the Night feels for being a titular antagonist. I mean, not much is really explained about him and how he ticks. Where does he come from? What's the scope of his powers, and his goal? What's his past with the Godmother Fairy? Why is a living puppet such a threat to him? What is up with the puppets anyway?
There is another creepy cartoon adaptation of Pinnocchio which is called ,,Kashi no ki mokku". There were plenty of psychodelic and scary scenes: -pinnochio who was told to get a real heart so he could become a real boy, sneaks to his classmate's house in the night and wants to get his heart in his sleep with help of a chisel; -cricket who was first smashed by hammer was shown dying in agony with his eyesbulging and rolling a foam from his mounth; -pinnochio's classmates are shown being bitten to death by wolves (there was even a bit of blood shown); -pinnochio's having a nightmare about being crucified and burned by some fire demons. All those scenes were cut in american version and on yt there's only italian version available with those scenes (called Le nuove avventure di Pinocchio).

I saw a 48th episide (the one with nightmare about crucified pinocchio) and i couldnt sleep for some time XD But there were few more scenes which gave similar effect plus the soundtrack in original version was darker, quite tipical for cartoons in 70s and 60s.

The puppet master he meets (whose name is Manggiafuocco, not sure about the spelling but his name is essentially Italian for "eats fire") is instead very kind and lets him go back home after the show, even giving him money for his "father" IIRC.

Twinkle is actually implied to be a real child turned puppet at several points in the movie, so her getting to be human again at the end is clearly to resolve that. It is a bit sad that she's not much of a character beyond that though.
Oh may I suggest another film James Earl Jones was in, "The Flight of Dragons" a personal favorite of mine, even though I know how flawed the film is (mashing two different books together, pacing off, characters suddenly appear and do things and never speak about again) but the atmosphere, setting, and music is wonderful, and James Earl Jones as the Red Wizard Omadon is a treat fans of Fantasy shouldn't overlook
I honestly really dug that film! My favorite thing about it was how they dealt with the dragon physiology in that movie. The idea of some science nerd ending up in the body of a dragon and trying to come up with scientific explanations for its magical properties is pretty damn intriguing. I kind of wish they would remake this movie in some way, would love to see this in live-action!
I've got a suggestion: Legend of the Guardians. The owls of Ga'Hoole. It's not extremely dark but it's dark enough to be on this channel. It has incredible animation, awesome scenery & the slo-mos are just as great. I'd like to see your reaction to it.

This one and another Russian Pinochio movie were quite pleasant and entertaining to watch when I was a kid, not to mention how beautifully animated they are. Now, how about we give exposure to other great and hidden gems that are sadly obscured and not shown on cinemas because of blockbusters saturating the market and the monopoly that represent both Pixar and Disney, not to mention the corruption behind the Oscars Academy with its judges by now bothering to watch animated movies/films that should have deserved to be recognized. Soooo. I was born in the 90s in Russia. This was the time when the regime changed and a flood of different movies, music, styles and information flooded in. And my parents bought me this version of pinnocio on vhs. I loved it. It was so great actually, so mystic and dangerous. It was one of my most favourite movies back then. And Beauty and the beast 😂

*The message of this movie was to not let anyone take your freedom away from you. And to be smart around/avoid vices and strangers, so also self-accountability. It was a good lesson.* This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I even named a pet after Twinkle. You know, you can say what you want about these older cartoons, but they really *did* put the fear of talking to strangers into kids of that era. I miss the shows that, while still being clean in a media sense, weren't afraid to make some jokes kids would only get when they were older, and certainly weren't afraid to scare kids a little when trying to get a message across, because these same shows also respected the budding intelligence of their audience. They also took into mind that parents might watch the shows with their kids.

Twinkle is actually implied to be a real child turned puppet at several points in the movie, so her getting to be human again at the end is clearly to resolve that. It is a bit sad that she's not much of a character beyond that though.
Oh may I suggest another film James Earl Jones was in, "The Flight of Dragons" a personal favorite of mine, even though I know how flawed the film is (mashing two different books together, pacing off, characters suddenly appear and do things and never speak about again)
but the atmosphere, setting, and music is wonderful, and James Earl Jones as the Red Wizard Omadon is a treat fans of Fantasy shouldn't overlook

I honestly really dug that film! My favorite thing about it was how they dealt with the dragon physiology in that movie. The idea of some science nerd ending up in the body of a dragon and trying to come up with scientific explanations for its magical properties is pretty damn intriguing. I kind of wish they would remake this movie in some way, would love to see this in live-action!

I've got a suggestion: Legend of the Guardians. The owls of Ga'Hoole. It's not extremely dark but it's dark enough to be on this channel. It has incredible animation, awesome scenery & the slo-mos are just as great. I'd like to see your reaction to it.

Marionettes were also all alive and sentient in the source. Possibly all carved from trees from the same forest. All kinds of fantastical things happen with no explanation, and it's all treated as mundane, living marionettes included.
Pretty sure there's a scene somewhere that shows the female puppet shed a tear... A brief hint that she was once a real girl and then turned.

This one and another Russian Pinochio movie were quite pleasant and entertaining to watch when I was a kid, not to mention how beautifully animated they are.
Now, how about we give exposure to other great and hidden gems that are sadly obscured and not shown on cinemas because of blockbusters saturating the market and the monopoly that represent both Pixar and Disney, not to mention the corruption behind the Oscars Academy with its judges by now bothering to watch animated movies/films that should have deserved to be recognized.

I loved it. It was so great actually, so mystic and dangerous. It was one of my most favourite movies back then. And Beauty and the beast 😂

This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I even named a pet after Twinkle. You know, you can say what you want about these older cartoons, but they really *did* put the fear of talking to strangers into kids of that era. I miss the shows that, while still being clean in a media sense, weren't afraid to make some jokes kids would only get when they were older, and certainly weren't afraid to scare kids a little when trying to get a message across, because these same shows also respected the budding intelligence of their audience. They also took into mind that parents might watch the shows with their kids.
