I wish more manufacturers would let you buy laptops without memory or storage installed. I already have plenty of SSDs and RAM sticks lying around, I don't need to be sold more.
I'm thinking of getting a rugged laptop, like the Toughbook 55. The Framework is nice but they are hard to get in Europe. Also, the modularity and repairability are based on the future success of the company which is unfortunately not guaranteed yet.
Even if the company is dead today, you can still change/upgrade RAM and SSD, and I don't think they will stop selling all parts just because they are bankrupt, it just means they are no longer improving/making new stuff anymore.
@@Purple-f6d power efficiency mode: 6-12 hours Best performance: only use when plugged in or for very short periods, but 3 to 6 depending on task These are very rough numbers though but it's good enough
@Purple-f6d Gaming. I'm not sure exactly but like max brightness and any task that's constantly using like full graphics and CPU. In reality battery is no issue with this. And I'm coming from an m1 pro macbook pro which had great battery life
just the kind of review I miss, a guy talking to the camera and getting straight to the point🎉 No fancy b rolls, no effects, no nothing, just a guy sharing his opinion🎉
On the hinges, I really wanna get mine fixed. I got 12th gen refurb two years ago. No idea which ones I got but I assume the 3.3kg. So they had four iterations. A 3.3, 3.5 1st and 2nd gen, and a 4kg. The 3.5 1st gen some were weaker so 2nd gen resolved that supposedly. I’m interested in trying these 4kg and if u know which ones you got
I've had my Framework 13" for a few years now. The exterior of my USB cable for my charger is splitting open, so I need to replace it. Also, I need to update my EFI BIOS firmware at some point, so it supports the latest batteries. Speaking of batteries, my CMOS battery has failed and needs to be replaced, it won't boot without being plugged in currently.
@@schmo611 I bought the Framework 13 to replace my Surface Pro 4, which was suffering from "Flickergate", and would become unusable with the slightest temperate increase. The design of the Surface Pro 4 was such that repair was not an option, and really isn't an option to this day. The Surface Pro 4 had a smaller form factor NVMe drive, and so was limited in space if I could access it to upgrade it like on the 7 model. RAM is entirely not upgradeable from the stock 4GB, making the device less usable over time, and it doesn't even support Windows 11 for after 10's 2025 End of Support. I'm not having problems with the hinges on my Batch 5. A CMOS battery replace is the same as it ever was, normal PC maintenance. And the USB-C cable might still be covered under warranty, I will need to double-check.
@@afganitia I appreciate it! Yeah holding it with my hand. I liked it for a while there, but I think I’ll just put it on a tripod or phone holder from here on out.
Love

i found it very easy to get one in Britain, are you in eastern europe?
I got it extremely easily in Italy.

Just got my 16 yesterday. Pretty happy with it so far
What is the average battery life that you get?

What brain rot of a fake review is it. Bloody hell, RAZER, DELL XPS, LENOVO CARBON, System 79, AUS ROG ---- that is quality.
System 79 doesn't exist. You mean System76, right?
