As someone who always sits on their hip with legs curled up to the side…this sofa is the most comfortable thing I have ever sat on. The back cushions are perfect for me as I can rest my arm on the backrest while reading a book. I agree it would not be as comfortable if you sit with your feet on the ground as the seat is quite deep and back very low.

I tested this couch today. I didn't find the backrest hard at all. It's quite soft I would say. If you rest your hand on it and apply some mild force it will easily sink in the backrest.

I bought it and love it, I disagree with you, the back rest is perfectly firm so it doesn’t sag, it’s not 90 degree, there’s foam and it’s cut on angle and leans back on wood inside, very supportive if you sit yourself further back in seat, also you are missing the smaller cushion which also doubles as headrest or low armrest. I have 2 chaises. Will be adding more pieces soon. It’s expensive but well made. You can put several parts together to make a queen size bed

We tried this sofa today, it hurts your back without a back cushion, it would cost us about 2500 euro (2670 dollar ) to buy our setup, this is not for us. Too bad, we love the green color and the washable covers and different colors, it could be a great sofa, but this sofa hurts without cushions.
I was considering these. You can put a lumbar pillow or bolster on it. I would put something colorful to break up and coordinate with the sofa color. They don’t have to be the same color.

I was thinking of buying two of the gray 1.5 units. When I first looked online about a month ago they were $500. Yesterday they were $550. TODAY they are $565! What is going on with IKEA? There is no way I will buy these now. Looks like gouging. I wonder if IKEA in other countries are seeing these constant increases. It’s not like there’s major design in these.
The same thing happened in my country, IKEA prices is going up from 1 USD to 70 USD (depends on the items). They never announced anything, and suddenly the price went up. If you find it too expensive, it's okay to switch up to another model.

@@livferocious3946 really?! Which store ? the one I checked was in Sacramento and they said it was being discontinued. I’ve seen the cover and armrest online as well and though it was weird how they have those but not everything else. Gotta check again, thanks for the update!
@@Aymeele I’m actually in Florida. They had 3 couches on display at my store and advised me to sign up for in stock alerts. Their computers were showing the April expected date
There's a head rest, it is optional or sold separately. The head rest is expensive and useless 😅. Believe me you wouldn't want to spend another 79$ for this after seeing the head rest.
@@SWEDENFURNISHING what's your thoughts on gronlid? While I like the look of vimle, I find gronlid more comfortable since I can lean back and the cushion supports my head unlike vimle.

(I have reviewed Ikea gronlid sofa, you can search it on my playlist) If you like old fashion / traditional sofa design, maybe you are gonna love this. And check your local ikea store, sometimes they give IKEA Gronlid a discount / sale.

So true.... that's why i suggest ikea Soderhamn / Viskafors. The older model such as Ikea Ektorp and Gronlid also great.

I Purchased the chaise and the 1.5 seat the seat of the chaise is already sinking after 6 months use I would not recommend the chaise
